They started me on Hydroxychloroquine; in 2016; after being finally diagnosed with SLE. He started me on 200 - then increased to 300 mg, my weight is 128, height 5’2”. I had subsequent dual meniscus surgeries and following these knee surgeries one of my calves, and all the way down to my foot turned black & blue. It improved over several months; but is still apparent visually somewhat on my calf. I had a subsequent meeting with my Rheumatologist, and he noticed this discoloration and told me “no more hydroxychloroquine”. So I asked what he was going to put me on, he told me he was thinking on it. Two or three weeks after this he started me on nabumetone; which seems to be helping very little. Is y there anything else I can take for my Lupus? I am a female of 58 years. Thank you - no eye issues

Are you saying it can cause renal failure?

you have to check yourself often as it can cause some kidney problems. my rheumatologist always checks my blood for the renal problems, its important to check your retina as well, it can cause hydroxychloquine retinopathy
