Wahl, Andis, Babyliss...all the same once you zero gap IMO. No noticeable difference in any and I have all of them plus others. Zero gap any major brand trimmer/liner and it will hit.

Seeing how you used them on the guy in the seat sold me. That's exactly the tool I need to get my lineups precise, as well as the post haircut detail. Good to see a review from someone who's a barber and in the industry so you know it's a good product if they use it.

I just got the cord detailer zero gapped to try and they are a good trimmer not as good as the babyliss fx but the wahls are sharp but dont bite im satisfied
Yours must be duds then…I’ve balded out/ cut sides down with guards, done designs and lined up with them…and they’re still eetswa after years of the corded ones…the babyliss shit themselves whenever I try debulk and chew hair off when it’s longer than a 3 guard after a while…got the cordless ones coming in the mail now
unscrew them, then bring the moving blade forward until it's even with the nonmoving blade. This is what is meant by zero gap. If there's a significant gap. they'll cut close, but it won't be a sharp cut. This next part may sound crazy but i'm a 30+ year barber and we go to extremes to get both blade sharpness and customer comfort. When I think my blades are close enough I put the screws back in a little and slide them back and forth on my bottom lip to check closeness. This is a sensitive area, similar to the upper forearm. With any clipper/trimmer lay them on your inner forearm, if they make you flinch, jump, wince....too sharp.
Would recommend the Wahl Li for home use only, strictly for trimming and lining up my beard and mustache? Is zero gapping necessary for beard and mustache?
