It is not my favourite, but I admit that it is a great song. Especially for its F*CKING EPIC INTRO which is certainly one of the bests, if not THE best Metallica Intro.
I was there in Porto Alegre and this caught my attention on Metallica 2022: 1) how good is James' voice and his killer stage presence; 2) Lars has impressively improved over time; 3) Trujillo is irreplaceable now; 4) how Kirk is humble & powerful at the same time. And, best pyro I've seen live so far...
Lars hasn't improved. They shouldn't be playing any early song if Lars isn't going to play it properly. Kirk has improved, he can actually play a solo properly now!

Huge fan since age 15...I'm 40 now...so most of my life listening every damn day... they definitely haven't lost a step and can still play fast...obviously when you get older you're not like your prime,but they still got it...seen them 3 times (last time was 2004)and I have to see them 1 more time before Im I'm longer on this earth...I just watched a video of them playing damage inc from very recently...still fast...and STOP SAYING LARS SUCKS...you haters expect too much...he helped create speed metal and thats his style...he's not a Neil Peart kind of drummer....but you try playing balls to wall for 2+hrs.....I think Lars is amazing for this band...he's perfect ...they all are...we all know James and Kirk can shred,but Robert can really play bass well...if you look up some of his solos or him jamming ,he's really good too..Jason has the better backing vocals,and Cliffwas the musical genius....so my point is they'll always be my fav band and if their next album is anything like Hardwired,then I can't friggin wait for the next 1...Hardwired was such a GREAT album....
I agree! But I have to say they dropped off drastically between Load and Hardwired! But they still played great. Recently they have sounded as great as they ever have and they are playing songs they don’t usually put in the set list! I hope I get to see them live again soon! It’s been too long!

I actually like death magnetic better than most of the songs in hardwired. I think it is also more coherent. Do you mean live performances?
I'll never get tired of this fucking sick riff. It always reminds me of their Arènes de Nimes performance in 2009, easily their best ever of Blackened in recent history.
Imho, 89 Seattle and 92 binged and purged performances will always be pinnacle for some songs just because of the delivery and atmosphere. But 2009 is very close third and it is very respectable

People have a lot of shit to say, but none of those folks are Metallica, so I say keep talking, the boys gonna keep rocking.
This was me at the age of 12 in 2004. St Anger just came out which, to me, was possibly the best way to get introduced to them. I still remember it, Frantic on MTV. Needless to say, I had multiple mind blowing experiences going through their discography and my juvenile brain couldn’t comprehend that these guys had already taken over the world by the time I had discovered them

Orra o Album St. Anger é péssimo, MAS É OUTRA COISA ATUALMENTE AO VIVO, Arrepiei ao som de "Dirty Window". Foi surpresa demais terem tocado alguma do St. Anger. Outra surpresa PIKA foi "Welcome Home: Sanitarium", MARAVILHOSOOOO. Durante o Show eu não parei quieto um minuto, só pulava e gritava hahahaha, Metallica é outro NIVEEEEEL, sem palavras.
Quando tocou Welcome Home, foi um prêmio para mim, simplesmente inacreditável ouvir a música que me faz idolatrar o Metallica para sempre, na versão do Limp Bizkit (MTV Icon).

When he finished Sandman, the last song, he threw right in my direction, but the pick reached the floor, I just jumped into the ground to search and there it was, a white pick shining for me 😎🥰❤️🤘🏻🔥 the pick that ended this Metallica concert! It's mine now. A relic. Actually, I also appear in this video, 2:40 in the right. I must say, even that it's just a little, it felt so damn special. I feel blessed. And I thank Metallica for that. If I have to guess it's because the drumming there has to be PERFECTLY tight because it makes the riff flow differently thanks to 1 extra 8th note on the snare fill. Idk, they've done it to this song for so long now. Lars just getting tired. The legato part of the solo is so cool though

If I have to guess it's because the drumming there has to be PERFECTLY tight because it makes the riff flow differently thanks to 1 extra 8th note on the snare fill. Idk, they've done it to this song for so long now. Lars just getting tired. The legato part of the solo is so cool though

15 anos atrás estava eu tentando aprender a tocar Blackened com uma revista de guitarra. As primeiras notas de partitura foram aprendidas com os riffs dessa música... 15 anos depois estava eu lá pela 6a fila após a grade presenciando nesse show essa pérola! Nostalgia pura!
