Man, where has this awesome footage been for the past 29 years? I'm so glad we're finally seeing this get released! Makes you wonder what other gems they've got locked away in the Metalli-vault :D I'm really hoping for a full "Day On The Green '91" Pro-shot when the black album gets his Deluxe Box Set.
It is amazing. I’m glad they kept it to themselves. Makes it that much better and more refreshing to see when it actually makes the light of day. I’m def enjoying this more then Seattle so far. Def more live sounding and even the video quality is a whole lot better But I think we could all say. Thank god this footage and other hidden gems even exist. This is the best
This is very cool. I was at this show, sitting in maybe the 13th row right side. Faith No More opened and James came out and sang War Pigs with them at the end of their set. I remember how clear they sounded that night. At the end of the show, the guys came down to the front and gave high-fives to the folks in front. Very cool memory for me seeing this today.
I was gonna say bro there is no way you were sitting. I'm guessing from the time you got to the place where your seat was supposed to be till the time you cleared out to head home I doubt you sat once. Until that amazing car ride home. Am I right?
Damaged Justice Tour was the best Tour ever. Metallica were so brutal and they created a very special atmosphere through the lights and the Stage Set Up that made the atmosphere unique. And Metallica just was an agressive machine stage - brutal, raw, tight - just phenomenal! Best Tour ever!
many people think "HD" is something digital made in a computer with softwares and such. remember, "HD" is nothing but "High Definition", so ofc there was HD.
I like this direct way of filming a whole lot more, without camera angles switching every half second and with some kind of movie filter over it. Seattle is still fun to watch though, but San Diego is almost unwatchable for me with that effect. But this footage gives me more of an experience of being there than Seattle and San Diego. Judging by the camera angles, they look pretty identical to Seattle's. Maybe they filmed a couple of gigs and chose the best one?
I agree it's refreshing and more "real" looking. I think San Diego and Seattle were probably film, and this was tape. At least San Diego looked more like actual film. I think that's the main difference. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Been a Metallica fan for 30+ years. Love this vintage stuff as well as the new stuff....I am such a huge fan, i want to have Fade to Black played at my funeral
Haha, not saying it's strange really ('cause you're right, it really isn't) but I guess it's just that in the other live stuff I've seen from the Justice days he doesn't look as similar as here so it was a discovery none the less. : )
Just when you thought you have seen it all they drop something rare as fuck. This is that small window of time where they were headlining arenas, yet outside of the Seattle 89 video there is not much in terms of high quality pro-video. I hope they release this entire show.
