Same. I think she felt so alone during that time, even with people around her. I just listened to her podcast with Eamon and Bec that was released a few weeks before she passed. She truly tried and fought so hard to recover. I have a better understanding now of just how much she was hurting and struggling 😢
What endears me most to y’all’s videos (okay, besides Occy) is your humility - everything from showing us your bad days to asking people to gently click thumbs up only if they like the video. Very sweet and makes you relatable.
Such a kind man Katie! Didn’t hesitate to help us and even though he didn’t speak a word of English he was patient with my stumbling Spanish. Genuinely just wanted to help. Sent us off with a “Pura Vida” and a fresh reminder of how we should all treat each other.
Thank you for being real. It's nice to hear what things cost, where you are finding resources, people interaction, etc. It helps to know that it's not as "scary" or impossible to adventure the less traveled way. A lot more people are choosing van life and your videos are a great way to access information that you can only read about. To live it with you, in a way, makes the experience invaluable. I absolutely love Costa Ricans. Some of the nicest people on earth. My family is originally from Tonga but we moved to Australia when I was 10 and my uncle and his family moved to Costa Rica. We go visit all the time and the people over there are just amazing.

Okay firstly - I still smashed the like button.... because Aussie. And secondly it doesn’t matter what “suits” other people. It’s your channel! I watch your videos because I love watching you guys. No upload day shuffle will change that!
No matter who's vlog you follow, some resonate more than others and this one resonated with me. When I first went travelling it was with an idea I had to blog, that quickly dissipated when I found myself just enjoying the moment more and realising that I didn't care for it. Images (photography) however were a different case. That aside and the main reason for leaving a comment is that I don't think it matters where you are, people, if you let them are inherently good at heart. My personal best experiences are from the Solomon Islands, Australia and Timor Leste. 2 out of the 3 are third world countries and when I needed help and when I didn't, the people there were fantastic . For Australia if you have your hood up then a True Aussie will stop regardless even if they can't help mechanically, they'll always have a mate that can.

No matter who's vlog you follow, some resonate more than others and this one resonated with me. When I first went travelling it was with an idea I had to blog, that quickly dissipated when I found myself just enjoying the moment more and realising that I didn't care for it. Images (photography) however were a different case.
That aside and the main reason for leaving a comment is that I don't think it matters where you are, people, if you let them are inherently good at heart. My personal best experiences are from the Solomon Islands, Australia and Timor Leste. 2 out of the 3 are third world countries and when I needed help and when I didn't, the people there were fantastic . For Australia if you have your hood up then a True Aussie will stop regardless even if they can't help mechanically, they'll always have a mate that can.
