Didn't I say The Hitcher bacame cult classic? I don't know how much this movie made on home videos sales, but it failed in theaters, could'n even cover the budget.
@KinoReel-c4f LOL! A cult classic is a film with a small, but loyal fan base. The Hitcher on home video had an EXTREMELY LARGE FOLLOWING in the 80's as soon as it hit the video stores!!! Millions of people in the US watched it at home! It would be like calling The Shawshank Redemption or Highlander a "cult film." There is a BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!! 😆
Despite the cast and crew having a horrible time, Flesh and Blood is actually a good film and was a trailblazer for medieval violence on screen way before Game of Thrones made sword, slaughter & nudity mainstream. Jennifer Jason Leigh is absolutely stunningly beautiful in this film ♥
Solider of Orange is my favourite pre Hollywood of Verhoeven sadly not in hi def as the right owner seems to be not bothered to release a remastered version
Blood of heroes, was so great, that a friend and I designed our own board game inspired by it (instead of buying Blood Bowl I guess), and it still survives, as evidenced here: ruclips.net/video/H5KGov_Sajs/видео.html
This is a film that easier to respect rather than like. It’s really unpleasant and the characters are all unsympathetic. “Robocop” is the only Verhoeven film with unambiguously good protagonists.
@@raydrexler5868 I actually liked the music as anachronistic as it was. But different strokes. i just watched it again in the past few months with the family. Their first time seeing it, so now they're fans as well.
@ It’s a beautiful film. Have you seen the directors cut of the Tom Cruise film “Legend” by Ridley Scott? They used a more traditional classical music score, and it fit better (imo). I think that would work better with “Ladyhawk” for me.
@ I have, and I actually appreciate it more than when it came out. Definitely look for the Legend director cut, it doesn’t have a lot of extra footage, but it’s got more of the famous black dress and that conversation, and more Meg Mucklebones.
Watched this movie about a year ago after hearing about it for years - what a horrible movie. And the big problem is the story because it seems to drift back and forth between an action film and trying to be some kind of romance but they never seem to gel together. The script also has some pretty bad moments to it as well as not making sense at times. If they had stuck with the original script or went more romantic, the film probably would have been better but as it, it was just bad.
Blind Fury is a great movie.
Blind Fury is an absolute cult classic for sure! Along with Wanted Dead or Alive. The opening to that film is iconic.
Only if u haven't watch the zatoichi movies
Blind fury is a remake of amalgamation of several zatoichi movies best bits
LOL! Man, you had it until the end. The Hitcher was a HUGE HIT on home video! Also, Flesh & Blood is set during the Renaissance, not the middle ages.😂

And s*x with nudity as well!
Not to mention a major inspiration of Berserk.
@@solidbeard8324 yeah this and excalibur

I like Ladyhawk, i think it was a great movie for his time. And this one wasn't so bad, it really despict exactly how things were in those times.
Yeah great film, has a too 80s soundtrack but otherwise really good.
Yeah, I'd argue that it's a cult classic and certainly hasn't been forgotten.
Hitcher & Blind Fury are great!
Escape from Sobibor was a made-for-TV movie, and winning a Golden Globe for a TV film wasn't a boost for a film star, not back then anyway.

There were two Australian actors in major roles; Jack Thompson and Tom Burlinson.

such a good movie we wouldnt have berserk without it

Good stuff! Now I have to watch this film! Bruno Kirby!?
I liked Ladyhawk. Good chemistry amongst the stars. Broderick's running monologues steal the show.
The music was bad. I loved the movie, but I watched it again recently and the music hurt

@@raydrexler5868 I've only seen the Tangerine Dream version of Legend. Another great 80s Fantasy Movie. Have you watched Krull?

If you watch the director's cut, you'll see a lot of Jennifer Jason Leigh. Does have the somewhat uncomfortable idea that she falls for her rapist.
Uncomfortable idea to talk about, but actually one of the biggest turn-ons most women have fantasies about, according to most surveys.

bullshit, it's a good movie.
@plasticweapon nah, it really isn't.
Basic surface detail. I’m out
That was excellent.
