Pacific Rim (2013 + 2018). The Story of Failure
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors
The international box office saved the film from complete disaster. While it grossed $101 million in the U.S., overseas earnings added $309 million. However, the $410 million total wasn’t ideal for a movie with a $190 million production budget. Worse yet, only 25% of the $115 million it earned in China went back to the studio-roughly $30 million. Factoring in a high marketing budget, the movie ultimately lost $15-20 million.

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors The Thing is one of Hollywood's most iconic horror films, yet it was a complete failure upon release. Like many cult classics, it took time to gain its due recognition. According to director JOHN CARPENTER, the failure of his films always upset him, but the reception of The Thing was particularly devastating. Both critics and audiences coldly dismissed the fi...

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors It grossed only $15 million domestically-a catastrophic result for a $100 million project, comparable to the infamous failure of The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Globally, the numbers were only slightly better, with Mortal Engines earning around $70 million worldwide.

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Today, let’s discuss a fascinating film from the 1990s, often regarded as one of the most realistic portrayals of killer animals in cinema. While the genre hasn’t produced many major hits, it was once wildly popular in Hollywood. There was a time when movies about killer animals even outnumbered those about haunted houses or cursed burial grounds. Nowadays, t...

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors The success of films like "The Rock," "Face/Off," and "Con Air" made Nicolas Cage one of Hollywood's highest-paid actors. All three films were released between June 7, 1996 and June 19, 1997, meaning Nicholas managed to star in three iconic box office hits in just one year. This is a truly unique achievement, and while Nicolas Cage is not typically regarded a...
Edge of Tomorrow (2014). The Story of Failure
Просмотров 11 тыс.21 день назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors "Edge of Tomorrow" made $100 million at the US box office. The global release brought it another $270 million. Considering all the side income, the film likely would have been profitable if it had stayed within its original budget of $145 million. Besides, given the high ratings the film received, the studio would have released a sequel long ago. But the $175...

Просмотров 3,6 тыс.27 дней назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors "Alita: Battle Angel" was supposed to be director James Cameron's next project after "Titanic." The creator of "Terminator" and "Aliens" spoke confidently and at length about his upcoming film, promising it would leave unprepared viewers breathless. However, by the mid-2000s, his belief that "Battle Angel" would be his next project had faded.

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors With a $35 million budget, "Predator 2" only grossed $30 million in US theaters. The international release earned it another $26 million, but it was still not enough. That's unfortunate, because we could have gotten another unique film. The ending of the second "Predator" hinted at a threequel.
Alexander (2004). The Story of Failure
Просмотров 11 тыс.Месяц назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Despite its $155 million budget, "Alexander" grossed only $34 million in the United States. The worldwide distribution brought investors another $133 million, but the losses were still colossal. Many blame Warner Brothers for the film's underperformance in the US. Following unsuccessful test screenings, the studio gave up on the film and cut its advertising b...
Steven Seagal's last major failure
Просмотров 8 тыс.Месяц назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Steven Seagal’s career, like that of many other classic action stars, faltered in the mid-1990s. His films started failing one after another. This negatively affected the actor's subsequent studio productions. However, Steven's films' budgets didn't fall as quickly as Van Damme's, and if he had been a little luckier, he might have ended up in B category movie...

Просмотров 2,4 тыс.Месяц назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors In the early 2000s, Tom Cruise was Hollywood's biggest star. His roles paid him $25 million, plus a percentage of the film’s proceeds. Some studios would convince him to settle for just 10%, while others would pay him 20% or even as much as 30%.

Piranha II: The Spawning (1982). The Story of the Film
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.Месяц назад
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Although "Piranha II: The Spawning" is not actually a James Cameron movie, his involvement in the film has a fascinating backstory. In 1980, producer Ovidio Assonitis worked with Warner Bros to produce the low-budget horror film "Piranha II". The studio agreed to give him $500,000 on the condition that the film be directed by an American director.
It was a terrible movie so I'm not surprised to find out there was so much chaos on set.
Isn't it very much inspired by Erich von Daeniken's "Chariot of the Gods"?
Tiesel also expressed resentment towards Vietnam vets when he’s in the bar after they thought Rambo was dead
Amazing chanel..some titles to consider. The last witch hunter,Face off,Feme fatale, Spawn
2:56... Tuco??
Kurt Russel is one of the greatest actors in Hollywood ever. I found this movie much better than it’s reputation.
The best thing about this movie was the Honest Trailer take on it. Brutal!!
STARGÅTE rocks! The movie, SG1, Atlantis, all of it
It's a fine film. Way better than those two new duds. Hopefully, it'll one day manage to recoup it's production cost.
Has the original script ever been posted online? I'm very curious to see just how different things could have been
Predator: Take it. Raphael Adolini 1715
Rambo 3 one of my favorite movies
Predator 2 is definitely not "truly dread".
From premise alone, you can’t go from Arnold and super soldiers to Glover and police officers and it still make sense they could fight against a predator!
The title was part of the problem, that and the PR. It was better than I expected
To throw in my 2 pennies…the ultimate failure of this movie, was the failure to figure out how do you market a movie based on a 100 year old book to an audience that doesn’t read?
Loved all 3 Rambo movie's but part 2 was the best of all
Box office failure or not, I thought it was a great movie. Do take in account that it was the highlight of the piracy era of dvd´s and internet booming of downloading.
All other movies had same challenges.
@@KinoReel-c4f true true.
Jay Baruchel also added to lessen this movie appeal, ..he kind of dragged the movie down a few points..
First Blood was all about Jealousy
one of those great movies that you can't deny are a total trainwreck, but you still love them.
3:34 I wish the director had shown the hole Rambo had made!
Legionnaire is an underrated gem.
I'll look it up, thanks for the tip!
Bringing up " a sound of thunder " could have been good if money would have been spent. The Ray Bradbury story on Ray Bradbury theater ( tv ) showed promise. But the terrible cgi killed it. To make matters worse they actually got Ben Kingsley in it!
I really want to see the 3hr version of First Blood.
Criminally unappreciated movie
Say what you want but personally I enjoy the film for what it is, cheesy action with a straight forward story that featured at the time one of my favorite action hero’s with one of my favorite pro wrestlers in Bill Goldberg. I know it’s not perfect but hey I can get a laugh at how bad some scenes can look and get a joy at some of the cheesy action displayed on screen. Love JCVD and I love Goldberg so for me it’s a fun film to enjoy every now and again
I watched this in theaters back in the day. I'm old, geez
P hey man I really love your channel I love what you bring to the table I'm definitely going to tell people about your channel I look forward to your growth
I saw this aged 14 at the cinema when it came out and it was so damned awesome. Still love this movie and seen it at least 50 times!
You cant kill mako mori she was a great character
I remember a friend of mine called this movie “The worst movie of all time!” I argued it wasn’t even the worst movie that year (Batman and Robin was way worse).
Versayce 😂
You forgot the comics & Netflix series...
Batman and Robin is Boring and Rubbish worse than Josstice league
second pacific Rim pandering to China too much, and wondering what went wrong..priceless...🤣🤣🤣
It's crazy how coherent and good the movie is
I thought it was a good movie
Does this mean Godzilla 2014 was the first truly successful American Kaiju film.
The first Pacific Rim is successful
Moneywise - no. But movie itself was good.
Pacific Rim: Uprising should've been treated with respect✊🏻, should've had Guillermo Del Toro direct the sequel & the treatment he had in mind.
The First Pacific Rim Rulez✊🏻!
First movie better than any transformers
1st movie is awesome, I can still watch it today and enjoy every minute. 2nd movie simply blows

The second Godzilla did not bombed at the box office. It just
Budget $170-200 mln., marketing $100-150 mln., ww box office -$387 mln...this was a failure.
First one is an instant classic....2nd film is instantly forgettable
Cities were so fake...like in Power Rangers.
Van Damme has pretty much owned up to his idiocy and his younger years and I think he might have a Renaissance. His movie JCVD is actually well worth watching and his monologue in it is very riveting. Give it a chance, you might like it.
We needed a weeb to make those movies.
Horatio Sanz?!
Loved it
