Judging by Jozef Chen's grin at the end of the match, he looked happy as if "Mission is accomplished".
Obviously he didn't know what to expect, he figured Tye was superior to him initially judging by his latest interview, but after this match it is as if it was a match to gather enough data and see where he stands against probably the best guy in his division before CGI.
Jozef learned that Tye isn't far above him, considering how analytical he is, i am sure he will put what he learned during this match to good use if they meet again at CGI.
Jozef also doesn't care about losing. He also gets very anxious before certain matches and I'm sure this was one with the stadium and crowd. He was the same way with Levi at Polaris even when he didn't have as good of a performance and was all smiles after because all the anxiety was gone after it was over lol
Whenever someone says no excuses yk they're about to make excuses 😂
Ruotolo bros about to put the MMA world on notice 👀
Neck nerve issues are no joke. Such a young man too..
TYE AND KADE AND JOZEF ARE JAY ROD AND TAINAN AND MICA ARE THE FUTURE
The present I would say.
Mica the steroided teenager? no god plz no

No excuses please. You didn't get sub just live with it. You still won. Joseph was just that good 💯
It’s easy to not get submitted if all you do is defend
@@futbolusa Joseph’s guard was amazing, very few bjj athletes can handle his passing pressure and recover guard as well as Joseph did. And not getting submitted by Tye is obviously not an “easy” task - to the contrary, it’s extremely difficult. Just watch Tye’s other matches, most opponents he submitted were on the defense.
0:48 he literally said no excuses, don’t try and make his position for him to make it look like you have something to say
@@flaw-finderthen goes on to list a bunch of excuses…. 😂
Any post fight interview with Chen ?
@sportskeeda mma official
ruotolo happy to survive
listed a few excuses
talks about his last match
another excuse about sickness
i think we witnessed a confused tye ruotolo realising hes got too much to learn before CJI to even have a chance
he kept it respectful tho, altho im sure not sure listing excuses while jozef is stood 2metres away is being respectful but w/e
after 2:26 of pure excuses he states "but no excuses tho.. i didnt even wanna bring this up"
tf?
1 of the Ruotolos is definitely winning CJI . I assume it's gonna be both brothers in the final. They are by far the best in the -80kg bracket and saying Tye has too much to learn to stand a chance is crazy.
Chen has no chance in CJI,ADCC, should probably try EBI, IBJJF no-gi. Or he should get "Scientifically Shutting Down Modern Leg Attacks By Kade & Tye Ruotolo" BJJFanatics 49% off code CHENSUX
@@yovonedelchev9121 what planet do you live on?
no seriously? is it earth like the rest of us?
look how broken ruotolo was after trying to deal with jozefs guard for 10mins
eughan oflannagan + jozef chen + nicky ryan*
will all smoke the ruotolos you ONE championship fanboy
@@SHERMA. Jozef had like 2 or 3 failed attempts to do something from guard , he got countered every time , so I don't see how he is gonna beat either one of the brothers come CJI. You must be the one from another planet with how biased your opinion is , lol . And also Nicky Rod isn't even in the under 80kg bracket. I am also a B team fan , but it is really ridiculous to think Kade and Tye won't win given how they've dealt with all the competition they've had up until now. I will come back and reply to your comment after CJI ends to see your reaction after 1 of the brothers wins the tournament.
The fight was boring, Chen just defended the whole time. Tye started the fight with a slick double, then maintained the top position. Chen off balanced Tye once, Tye maintained and walked away with an easy win.
Tye would have passed and submitted 95% of bjj athletes of his weight class today. Chen’s guard was brilliant, but given Tye’s constant pressure and scrambling, he couldn’t initiate any counter attacks. It was a very interesting exchange imo. Other than that, I somewhat dislike Tye’s tactic to repeatedly put his palm on his opponents’ mouth whenever he has trouble passing their guard.

That was not an easy win
Blue belt take
Never mind, every comment you’ve left is hating on Chen so no point.
🙄🤦🏻♂️ His neck being hurt is why the match was incredibly boring and spent about HALF of it standing pulling at each other’s arms and head? His neck hurting is why he stood above the dude trying to pin him down and attempted basically ZERO sub attempts as his opponent did nothing but defend? Look I LOVE ONE and the Rutolos seem super nice but the grappling matches, Tyes in particular, aren’t nearly as exciting as every other product ONE offers. And his performance last night is exactly why I doubt Kade or Tye will likely ever take the MMA belts from EITHER of the Lee brothers. Their wrestling just isn’t great and it’s gonna get him pieced up in mma sooner or later especially if he faces Christian or Adrian🤷🏻♂️
