I had a similar story with my first baby. Labour started at 10pm, we arrived at the hospital at midnight, got an epidural and baby was born at 02:45. Being my first baby, I couldn’t even wrap my head around the fact that everything happened so fast. I’m still grateful for that everyday. I had a beautiful experience.
I wish more doctors/nurses would talk about what to do when contractions are less than five minutes apart for long periods of time, even if the contractions are not a minute in length. I was almost delivered in the car because I discounted every contraction when they were shorter. I never had contractions more than 4.5min apart, but they were only 20-45 seconds. Baby was born 3hrs and 10min after my first contraction, and he was my first baby. I did not have any idea that could be a possibility since the main conversation is that first baby takes hours and hours and hours.
Yes! This! When my contractions began, they were already 2 minutes apart, but only 30-40 seconds long. So we stayed home for awhile at the advice of midwife. By the time we went to the hospital, I was 7cm, contractions still the same duration and intervals. I was fully dilated in less that 5 hours from first contraction. First baby.
My second came so fast and so hard the OB didn’t make it to the room and my husband and I delivered her ourselves with the help of a nurse. No pushing just intense pressure and panic in my eyes. I laid down and had one more contraction and BOOM. She swooshed out and my husband and I caught her. So so so amazing.
My husband and I are both college graduates who love research. We love these videos. They have helped us so much through pregnancy and now we are looking at the remaining videos that apply to our little 5 month old. Thank you, thank you! ❤
Wow, such a beautiful boy! Congrats Mama for delivering this precious one. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Rest well and enjoy his first everything. ❤
Congratulations!!! 🥰 I had my first child in August. I was 40+3 weeks and already 4 cm dilated/80% effaced without feeling Baxton-Hicks. My doctor did a membrane sweep and my contractions started 1 hour after or so. For me, the pain was managable at home with breathing, pressure points, heat and bath. After the bath, I felt my contractions getting closer together and I started to time them: they were 2-4 min apart. We started to pack the car and went to the hospital which is less then 15 min away. When I arrived, I was already to 9.5 cm! Within 30 min, I had my baby with only 11 minutes of pushing and no epidural. No time for that! 😆 When I was pregnant, I was sure I would need an epidural since my pain threshold is usually low. It surprised me how fast it was (pain wasn't that bad except the last 30 min at the hospital!). I guess I will need to go faster to the hospital next time if I don't want to have a baby at home! (My spouse is a family doctor who also deliver babies, so I would be in good hands, but it's not our plan to have a home delivery.)
Thank God for a healthy mom and baby! Your videos helped me through my first pregnancy last May; I was in labor 15 hours and missed my window for an epidural, whoops! But everything went better than I could have ever hoped for and our sweet baby girl is a healthy chunk. Thank you for your content.
Congratulations you guys! Bring a life into this world is the most amazing feeling! I welcomed my first baby (girl) in December 2022! I had a c section (3 days before Christmas) and prepared myself with y’all’s videos! Sending safe wishes and love to your family! ❤️
Congratulations!!!!🎊 My great granddaughter that now lives with me was born on the 28th and I’m needing tips and direction for a 2023 baby. My last baby was in 1988. So I’m sure a lot of things have changed since then. Thanks for your videos that can help guide me. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Congratulations on your great grand daughter. I have a 8 month old daughter, maybe I could help a little with tips and direction. What kinds of things are you wanting to know about?
A great resource I’ve found is takingcarababies. She has tons of classes that cover feeding, sleep, and how to calm a fussy baby. Saved my life as a first time mom who had no idea what to expect!
Highly encourage joining facebook groups for babies born in 2023, even one for the month the baby was born. I believe my April 2023 due date group will switch to a babies born April 2023 group at the end of April.
I loved hearing your birth story! Mine was sort of similar. My contractions went from 0 to 100 really fast, we were 30 minutes from the hospital, and my water broke in the car. My husband may or may not have run a red light or two, but luckily it was midnight and there was no traffic so we got there fast. No time for any pain control. Baby came within 20 minutes of getting to the hospital. So much for everyone saying it would take ages and there was no need to hurry...
Congratulations!!! I can only imagine how much more calm you probably walked into it too. Knowing the newborn stage is temporary and so short. So you are enjoying all the cuddles.
Hello doctors I’m from Philippines. First of all congratulations, I’m 13 days postpartum we have the same gender baby its a boy. Thank you for all the informations in your vlogs before i giving birth it means a lot to me. God bless your family.
Congratulations!!! So exciting!! Pregnant with baby #4, I’m only eight weeks so a long way to go. Every delivery is so different and so fascinating. I had my membranes stripped for all 3 times other deliveries and I didn’t think it really did anything. But now than I’m looking back, I think I delivered all 3 the day after 😅 1st- 40+2. 9lb, 7oz 2nd- 39+3. 10lbs, 12oz 3rd- 40. 9lbs, 12oz
Congrats Doctors! 🙌🏼 we’re going to be trying for a baby, plan is to get pregnant in about a year and a half, and I love your content. Very real and informative. Thanks for all you do! ❤️
Congrats!! 2nd babies do come fast! My first was 18 hours of labor. 2nd kid was so fast….contractions would fluctuate in consistency so didn’t go to the hospital for a bit. Delivered in triage 5 minutes after arriving at the hospital. 3rd baby was 4-5 hours from first contraction to delivery….made it to L&D that time thankfully!
Congratulations on your son! I remember watching your videos during my first pregnancy and it was so reassuring! You were just a couple of weeks ahead with yours, so the timing was nice. I'm currently pregnant with my second and this is honestly giving me a bit of hope that maybe this birth will be quicker. The first one took almost 24 hours and I was so done by the end of it! This time we also live a 7-minute drive from the hospital, so I'll have some more leeway to rest and eat a bunch at home without worrying too much about a car birth. I still hope this one goes a lot faster.
Congratulations to you both! I have been watching you guys from the beginning of my pregnancy - Your content has been a life saver. I am nearly 38 weeks now and so excited to experience this on my own.
I had my 3rd in September and it was by far my longest labor and took forever to push. I don’t know it’s because of my age or just all the interventions leading to more interventions. I narrowly made it without a c section. But that moment when his head finally started poking out was exhilarating! Worth every second.
Congrats I am still learning about children after my 35+ career at hospital in Spokane where I worked as a paediatric nurse now my daughter works there. She already has three kids with another on the way. It’s going to be swell Delores
Congratulations!! Your first birth video was the one that made me feel like I could do it and gave me courage with my first pregnancy. When you began your journey with IVF I was pulling for you both and so excited when you announced your second pregnancy. Now that I am going to start trying to conceive again in May, I am looking ahead with hope. Since my 40 week baby was 10lbs 3oz, his big ole shoulder got stuck on my pubic bone during delivery. He was okay! My OB said I have to be induced at 39 weeks for all future pregnancies since I apparently make big babies. I didn't occur to me that I could possibly go into labor naturally still. So excited for you both, thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Congratulations! Happy Birthday little one 💓! I hope that your family is doing well and is surrounded by love light and happy memories right now and to mama a speedy post partum recovery ❤️.
Wow!!!! His absolutely gorgeous🤩😍 Congratulations you two. Truly an inspiration. Take Care and enjoy every little second with you little bundle of joy.
Congratulations on the arrival of baby #2!! I delivered a healthy boy on January 10, and your data & science based videos were a godsend during my first pregnancy- I felt so empowered. Looking forward to all of the updates, sending love from Canada ❤️
We’re so glad to hear we were helpful for you. That is truly the most rewarding part of making these videos. Thank you for sharing and congrats to you too!
Congratulations! I discovered you guys last year while I was pregnant with my baby girl (first baby), close to the end of my pregnancy and found your videos so comforting and informative without being really complicated to follow. My contractions pre-pitocin were so bad. Seeing you just reminded me how awful they were. I was crying, I never had a break but I wasn’t dilating quickly so even when I went to the hospital they ended up sending me away! I was pissed, I asked what am I supposed to do for the pain, it was bad LOL. Thank God for that epidural. An even longer story to follow because I ended up feeling more pain the next day as baby turned face up 🫠 OUCH.
Idk how you did it. That's my biggest fear, being sent home!. I'm on baby number 4 (last one, I swear!), and I've only had spontaneous labor with my first. Thankfully, my water broke, so they kept me, and i got my epidural quickly, but I remember that it seemed like as soon as my water broke, the contractions started, and they were relentless. It was the worst. I was induced with my last 2, the epidural didn't work on my last one, and the contractions were nonstop and felt like torture. I feel traumatized, lol. Luckily, all of my labors except the last one have been under 7 hours, so I didn't have to suffer as long as some women, but contractions are no joke!. I definitely do not want to be sent home to deal with that pain on my own.
Congrats to you both and to the new big sister! The baby is beautiful. I was months behind you with baby #1 and now again I'm months behind due in August. Love hearing your story and experience!
Congratulations 🎉 to your new baby!! I’m 34 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and I’m just enjoying the last few weeks of all night sleep! Love the videos! ❤❤❤
Congrats!!! My first was a brutal 40 hour induction 24 hour labor with 3.5 hours of pushing and I was past 41 weeks 😵💫 so this gives me hope for my second labor/birth! Happy that it went smoothly for you!
I also had a 42 hour long induction with last labor, pushed 1 1/2 hours. It was hard work. I just gave birth again and this time it was another induction but a totally different experience. Less then 5 hours (2 hours and 45 minutes from contractions started to feel like labor), two pushes and she was born. Hoping you have a different experience this time around❤
Thank y’all so much for the education and sharing your stories with the community! about to have baby number one and I love seeing all your videos! Congratulations on your new addition!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you guys! I'm currently pregnant with baby #2 and hope my delivery goes as smoothly as yours does. I'm a little nervous because I have VCI this time.
Congratulation 🙏 I’m due in a few more weeks and watching your journeys been so helpful, even though this is my 4th && final addition your videos are so so so helpful!!! God bless 🤗
Congratulations!!! I also gave birth to a boy last week for the first time and I have been dedicatedly watching your channel since your first pregnancy trimester update series.
Wow Congratulations!! 🎉 I’ve started following y’all in 2020 when i was pregnant with my fourth child. Now I’m currently pregnant with my 5th child. So you already know I’m back to looking up pregnancy stuff and y’all post popped up on my newsfeed but it said it was posted 11hours ago and I’m like “Wait is this a new video cuz i saw them in 2020” That’s so beautiful congratulations to your growing family!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!! 🎉🥰🎊
Hello! I was wondering if you have any videos that discuss birthing Positions, or plan to make one soon? Thank you so much for your videos, they have so helpful and really give me more confidence.
We have been dear friends for a long long time - It was such a blessing to have one of my closest people help us welcome our little baby boy into the world.
I just had my son Feb 1st. He’s my 2nd baby and I experienced natural contractions too and I had a scheduled C-section on Feb 2nd and is due date was Jan 31st. He came on his own
Congrats!! I was wondering if you have any videos that discuss birthing Positions, or plan to make one soon? Thank you so much for your videos, they have been so helpful and really give me more confidence (first pregnancy)
Congratulations for the cute family addition! I love your content - I found it while I was TTC my first baby, now a 7 months old. Looking forward to more amazing content as you navigate this new stage!
Aww congrats you two!! I just discovered your channel like an hour ago & i’m already on my third video. Its crazy just days ago you gave birth!! Congrats on a quick delivery & a healthy beautiful baby boy!
Congrats!!!! I am very hopeful my last delivery goes something like this! My first delivery was actually similar; went into labor after having a sweep 2 days prior to her due date around 11am. Baby girl was earthside by 6:30pm that same day! I had identical twins my second pregnancy and elected to do a c section, so when I went into preterm labor at 34+5, they calmly prepped me for C/S. This last singleton, I’m super torn between VBAC or RCS… I’m 36 weeks now, so I guess only time will tell! Thank you for sharing your story!!
Congratulations!!! I'm almost 33wks in and apparently I have to up my magnesium and iron. Other than that, my (1st) pregnancy is great. I pray all goes well with you.
You two are such a cute couple, I love how you look at each other to remember things, like "okay other half of my brain, what was that thought again?" 😂❤
Such a cute video. I'm excited to welcome my second baby and I'm trying to decide between the hospital where I had my first 1 hour away, and another hospital 30 minutes away. My first labor was 16 hours so I had plenty of time. Based on these comments I'm a little worried about whether I will make it an hour to a hospital this time around!
Second babies don’t mess around 😄 I was panicking about our 30 minute drive to the hospital considering how intense my contractions were and… well, I was right. He was born 10 minutes later in the front seat 😂
That's great! My second was a car baby. 45 minutes from my water breaking to having her in my arms. It was the best delivery out of the 4 I've had so far!
@@emilybach did you have unmedicated births for 3 and 4?! If I could guarantee they’d be as fast as this one, I’d go unmedicated any time, any where … but obviously nothing is guaranteed.
@@taylorswf23 Depends on what you mean by unmedicated. I've never had pain meds for any of my births (except nitrous oxide with my first, very bad decision) but I have been induced with 1, 3, and 4. With #3 my water broke and labor didn't start; even with the pitocin my contractions were 6-12 mins apart until I was pushing. He was born 11 hours after my water broke.🤷♀️ #4 was also induced due to his size. 4.5 hours after they started the induction he was born. Aside from my nurse being a jerk and making everything worse things went reasonably well. The next one could go either way, but don't let that scare you. If you want more, then go for it!
@@taylorswf23 also, my mother in law had mostly home births that were 5 hours or less. Even for the first!😳 Family history can play a bit of a role but doesn't mean it will.
Congrats to both of you guys ! Iam so exited for ou guys . Please do videos of how you are introducing baby to sister or routine I'll be giving birth in July and my daughter by then will be almost 2
The internet has very little video abou or for hubbies, what the support person should do, what not, how not to piss of mom etc. Just a video idea. So happy for you guys, had a very similar 2nd baby situation, if you go for the 3rd at one point, make it in 15 min (smile emoji) Congratulations!
I had a similar story with my first baby. Labour started at 10pm, we arrived at the hospital at midnight, got an epidural and baby was born at 02:45. @@michellekakimotohernandez4731 I hope that for you too! ✨

Having it go that fast is uncommon for baby number one, but can definitely happen. We’re glad to hear that you and baby are doing well!
Amen! My contractions were 10-15 seconds every 2-3 minutes so we went to the hospital and had him within 45 minutes of walking in the door!
Yes! This! When my contractions began, they were already 2 minutes apart, but only 30-40 seconds long. So we stayed home for awhile at the advice of midwife. I had my first child in August. I was 40+3 weeks and already 4 cm dilated/80% effaced without feeling Baxton-Hicks. My doctor did a membrane sweep and my contractions started 1 hour after or so. Similar. Had baby #1 in Nov. Was 1cm at 7am and then 10cm next time we went in at 430pm! Will definitely go in earlier next time. 😅
That honestly sounds like such an amazing birth😅 Congrats mama💞

Hello! I was wondering if you have any videos that discuss birthing Positions, or plan to make one soon? Thank you so much for your videos, they have so helpful and really give me more confidence.
Did your OB kiss you on the lips after you gave birth? Lol I had to rewatch! Congratulations!
We have been dear friends for a long long time - It was such a blessing to have one of my closest people help us welcome our little baby boy into the world.
It was so sweet. She said in the video they are good friends. ❤
I also had to rewatch that part. I was like wait a minute is that her sister or the OB because that’s not her husband and was that kiss on the lips? 😳
That’s the sweetest thing and what a wonderful labor 🎉
Lolol

So much to learn!! Still trying to figure out how to best avoid getting peed on during middle-of-the-night diaper changes 😂

Aww congrats you two!! I just discovered your channel like an hour ago & i’m already on my third video. Its crazy just days ago you gave birth!! Congrats on a quick delivery & a healthy beautiful baby boy!
Congrats and thank you so much for sharing
Thank you!
Congratulations 🥰🥰 can't wait to see the video when big sister see the little brother for the first time
Thank you! The videos are adorable- just wait!
Congratulations 🎉👶🏼🔥
We can't wait to get our BFP for baby number 2!
Congratulations!!! I'm almost 33wks in and apparently I have to up my magnesium and iron. Other than that, my (1st) pregnancy is great. I pray all goes well with you.
Beautiful family! Congratulations
You two are such a cute couple, I love how you look at each other to remember things, like "okay other half of my brain, what was that thought again?" 😂❤
Omg!! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉 so happy for the both of you.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! ❤
Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing all of your experiences ☺️
Thank you!
Been waiting for DAYS for this video!!!! YAY🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! 🥰🥰🥰
Second babies don’t mess around 😄 I was panicking about our 30 minute drive to the hospital considering how intense my contractions were and… well, I was right. He was born 10 minutes later in the front seat 😂
Oh no! We were so glad we avoided a birth in the car 😅
So happy for you guys, had a very similar 2nd baby situation, if you go for the 3rd at one point, make it in 15 min (smile emoji)
Congratulations!
Congratulations!!!!! 🥰💙 This made my heart so happy!!! 🥰
