This cymbal needs a harder wood than the maple of the MJC4, which makes it sound too dead when riding with the stick tip. Something like the ProMark Anika Nilles hickory with its small acorn tip would really open it up, giving it a much livelier higher frequency attack.
Interesting. Stick sound is very subjective obviously, but I did have a section of the original sound file where I also played 4 other stick types at the end (2 hickory and 2 nylon). The trouble is the sound files end up very long doing that. I may include more stick options in the future though to try to cover everyones taste in stick type / cymbal sound.
@@cymbaljunkie Wow! Would love you to include more stick options - gets my vote! Suspect this would increase your audience in the cymbal fanatic community. I've never seen a cymbal shop use more than 2 types of stick in a product demo.
