Thanks. I kind of agree, but I pretty much use the same sticks across all my sound files for consistency, so customers can make accurate comparisons between the cymbals.

Interesting how these things compare isn't it. I guess it would depend on which particular Sig ride you compare it to. But yes, not as dry on the whole, but with similar characteristics. Although I've played some sig rides that were washier and some 30th rides that were drier. The heaven (hell?) of handcrafted cymbals 🤣

Hi. That is a Bosphorus 20" Master ride. It weighs just over 1600g. It's one of my own personal cymbals, so I don't think I've recorded it here.

Copper is just the model name. It's made of B20 bronze, same as all Diril cymbals.

Interesting. Stick sound is very subjective obviously, but I did have a section of the original sound file where I also played 4 other stick types at the end (2 hickory and 2 nylon). The trouble is the sound files end up very long doing that. I may include more stick options in the future though to try to cover everyones taste in stick type / cymbal sound.

​@@cymbaljunkie Wow! Would love you to include more stick options - gets my vote! Suspect this would increase your audience in the cymbal fanatic community. I've never seen a cymbal shop use more than 2 types of stick in a product demo.

I'd never really thought about it before. But their Logos are a little bigger than Istanbul Agop or Mehmet for example. Although by contrast Bosphorus ranges like the Painite or 1600 Era have almost no logos at all. I think on the Master Vintage it looks bigger as it's white on an un-lathed cymbal?

It's one of the reasons I don't use recording tools like compression in the recordings. Everybody does, it's standard recording practice. Because you get louder volume with more "attack" and "punch". But to my ears you also get further away from the real sound of the instrument. I don't use sound processing of any kind in my recordings, so you hear the real, acoustic sound of the drums and cymbals. You also get quieter recording levels.
