"I am willing to die for the country to ensure a future for my children and grandchildren!". Same people: "Nah, all that climate science is just a big hoax."
"I don't want my children to be slaves to debt!" Same people: "Raise minimum wage? College loan debt forgiveness? Basic universal income? Medicare for all? Ew, no way!"
These guys saying that they’re willing to die should be put to work in hospitals as support staff. Rooms need to be cleaned, people need to be turned, linens need to be washed. If you’re so brave stop the talking and get to it.
they are too busy planning on how to use the money they just saved in the stimulus bill. Major property depreciation change is going to save the 1% millions. But we get to enjoy 1000, if you qualify.
Except they're full of shit. It's like people who say they're pro-life and then don't want to fund schools or think CHIP is a waste, and bemoan programs that help kids. They say all the things that will get them clicks/views/followers and money. And that's what it's all about for them. Beck says that line knowing full well that he'll never get called on it. And that makes him one of the biggest POS's around.
Moving Robin I mean that’s like years away from wiping out humanity. Might even be a couple decades. That’s so far away. These kinds of responses to the current situation show how short sighted and myopic some individuals can be to the whole picture. Do you honestly expect those who can’t see the forest from the trees would see the impending doom coming from so far away? If it’s not immediate danger, they are oblivious to it.
@@MungkaeX Neither Corona nor Climate Change will wipe out humanity. Both kill many people and trying to counter both should be of importance to us all. Extreme weather conditions such as droughts and floods as well as diseases which can all be well corelated to the changing climate kill more people each year than Corona most likely will in the next 10 years. Trying to counter it should be of importance if we think about our children and grandchildren. Since they will have to live with how the coastlines change, less drinkable water in many regions and farming areas going arid beyond what can be compensated.
MungkaeX it is not far away, most scientists predict we have less then 20 years. By the time the newborns are able to vote devastating effects of climate change will cause everyone and i mean everyone to go into poverty. Republicans make out climate change to be so far away but it really isn’t. California has already been fucked, Australia has been fucked, even the amazon has been fucked and it gets worse from here.
The guy claiming that he doesn't want his children and grandchildren to live riddled with debt is delusional. They already are. You can't get an education or even go to the damn doctor in the USA without taking out a loan and getting plunged into debt. So. He clearly doesn't actually give a shit about them: he cares about himself and his own comfort.
Also if he did give a shit, he would be talking about how global warming is a problem and how it will badly effect his “future” generation. He would also uses toilet.
Well he does care about his kids, but he's a top 1%er. He just doesn't care that we have to risk illness and death going back to work to make sure the inheritance keeps them rich.
@@rheawelsh4142 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ He could actually fight for universal healthcare and advocate for student loan forgiveness and affordable education if he cared, like the rest of us that actually do care are doing. If he cares about his kids going into debt and living a life a slave to the system because of debt, he would advocate for changes that are long-term and economically useful and progressive (which Universal health care and free education have proven to be more than economically advantageous) , instead of crying about his country not letting him walk into the streets of a pandemic. Your children and grandchildren are going to live in debt if you continue to argue for the wrong things.
And the real sad thing is that Trump claimed yesterday that he denied that he ever said that hospitals don't need so many ventilators and yet it's been recorded three different times. This guy is just completely lost.
Exactly! The worst thing about the Coronavirus is not that "only" people die who might "deserve" it but also a lot of other people not wanting this sh*t. Let it put me this way: If a guy like this - while "sacrifiyng himself for money - would infect my 92-year old grandma and she dies from that, I'd punch that guy in the face.
@johnmburt1960 What can you expect from this kind of people, the only thing that really they care is the money they mass through their entire life.. without mention that in order to mass that fortune they have to pass over people, they don't care about number of dead they care the numbers of their stock market are crashing down. those idiot decrepit rich assholes , they are not thinking with the right head. but once again with people in their house economy getting down just make me think where really the power is.. is in all of us, without us everything is nothing their money is nothing their power is just fiction.
4:07 It's honestly INSANE to look at that count.... 593 deaths in the US. Where I live, at this stage in the timeline, that many people have died....by 3 orders of magnitude. *_Over half a million people._* More Americans died from THIS virus than during WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and all the myriad Middle East wars....combined. But one year ago....no one realized that would one day be the reality. Genuinely depressing... Thankfully, I'm ok....I finally got vaccinated just 3 days ago. First shot of two. But I know a number of people who got VERY sick from this....most of all my brother. He's young, just 34, and super healthy/in shape....but when he got it, he got very very sick. Upsettingly so. And I know 3 people who died from this. My bosses brother died.... And yet....for some reason, I find myself rewatching these old LWT videos. Why? In part....for the nostalgia. I remember March/April of 2020 rather fondly...in a weird way. I was temporarily laid off work, getting unemployment, basically just at home every day....starting a garden, taking walks, thinking, reading....with John Oliver and Seth Meyers to keep me sane. I grew my hair out. It was a weird mini vacation from reality....and honestly, it was wonderful. ONLY because I did not get seriously sick or knew anyone who did at the time. But I just find it genuinely bizarre how I feel a real sense of nostalgia for the early days of the pandemic. Late March...Early April. I'll never forget that time....it kinda changed me. In some honestly really good ways. And I strangely miss it a bit. Can anyone else relate at all? Just curious.
These guys that are willing to die for the "economy" should go work in a NYC hospital. At least they might actually help another human being before they kick the bucket.
They're full of hot air. Saying they're willing to die sounds heroic. Which, considering the ways they run their careers, is pretty doubtful to start with. But what their words actually mean is willingness to be a vessel contaminating everyone around them before someone else comes along and puts them in quarantine.
Previous month I was able to gather my first five figure paycheck ever!!! I've been working for this company using the internet for 24 months now and I never been happier... They are paying me $95 per hour, and the best thing regarding it is that I am not that tech-savvy, they just required standard knowledge of internet and simple typing skill...Superb thing about this is the more free time I got to spend with my family. I am able to spend quality time with my family and friends and look after my children and also going on family holiday together with them very frequently. Don't avoid this opportunity and make sure to react rapidly. Here’s what I do *explore486.com*
This episode is amazing. Compared to all the other talkshow monologues, the writing staff of last week tonight has obviously made the correct decision to ajust for the fact that there is no live audience and the show is better for it. No weird punchline-pacing that relies on a laughtrack to make any sense, just a good, clear assessment of the situation. But the crazy thing is: not only does the show not stumble over its own jokes, the lines that are supposed to hit hard, hit ever harder. No laughter to lighten the mood really underlines the seriousness of the situation. I understand there are reasons not to do it like this every time, but for some topics they may actually want to retain this style. Overall, mad props to the writers of this show. This episode has really shown what they are capable of.
Sergio Melendez totally agree. I think I prefer the more somber tone in fact. John is hilarious, of course. But he also does a great job of telling a story and conveying important information. I’d seriously watch hours of this.
Yeah except for its completely outdated. Made no mention of Cuomo thinking the needs of new York are more important than the needs elsewhere. And the fact he sat on thousands of ventilators after refusing to buy more equipment last years
I work at a grocery store. And I never thought of myself as essential. Just some broke college students working for 15$ an hour. Now I take pride in what I do. I’m proud to help people. I’m proud to help people buy food to survive. To hear people thank me and tell me the work I’m doing is vital is brings me to tears. Thank you John for acknowledging me and all the other grocery store employees
nah you see, they're rich enough to provide education for their children without putting them into debt. it's not their problem, it's a YOU problem, so they don't care
Oh. And. IGNORING FUCKING CLIMATE CHANGE. Like, these dickheads are so stupid! Like. Poverty, food scarcity, debt, disease. They are HERE. Student debt, Medical Debt, Climate change. Corona virus. All the things he is talking about are HERE. How is he going to protect anyone from any of those things, when they are here NOW. And they are ignoring it? Ugh.
@@SuperSupermanX1999 I get that's how they think. But like. Edgar Allen Poe literally wrote a poem all about the rich hiding ad the world burns outside. Guess how that turns out? Like. Man. The things they are talking about are HERE. Debt, disease, poverty. And yet, they weaken access to health care, won't get rid of stufent debt, ignore vaccines and climate change. You can only hide for so long. Those things will come for the rich, too. You can't hide forever. It's like Trump being a raging dick, ruining his own foreign policy goals. You are ignoring the very problems you claim to worry about, man. Never mind millenials, who have been dismissed as whiney and entitled. Gen Z is going to be so turbo fucked by the time they reach our age. Like. These kids futures will not happen. When Gretta brought this up, they dismissed her, for giving a shit about these very problems. It's infuriating.
To be fair, those that perish aren’t exactly that vital to the economy. You guys have just gotta learn to let go. My parents aren’t actively seeking to die, but they aren’t that interested in hanging around for too Long either.
"I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in debt and poverty!" *Continues ignoring medical debt and student loans while arguing that minimum wage shouldn't be a living wage "I care about my grandchildren's future!" *Continues to ignore climate change which will have more serious repercussions for later generations
Spot on. Is this the last chapter of the US we know today? Maybe I’m being to fatalistic, but what you say, combined with a wide spread uncontrolled virus by Easter, could very well be the tipping point. I don’t live in the USA but the thought of you guys going under, is terrifying. And that’s putting it mildly... Pleasepleaseplease elect a normal sane person next time. And pleasepleaseplease don’t let the ‘economy’ stand in the way of growth and progress any more (talking to you guys who can’t shut up about buying stuff 24/7) Stay safe everybody!

The funny part is that debt at the federal level of a country with control over its own currency really doesn't matter nearly as much as people think. Republicans, however, have made the national debt their rallying cry for decades. So when they suddenly stop caring about debt during Republican presidencies (as they've done since Reagan), they manage to become complete hypocrites while also not being entirely wrong. (The wrong part is how they grow/use debt: unnecessary tax cuts and insane defense spending.)
The companies wouldn't be able to make profits so let's just make people to come back to work and who are gonna be affected more....the stupid poor people who don't have health care and the middle class are gonna go bankrupt but that's more profit for us. And so many are gonna die.....but who the hell cares .......so let's do this guys..... lets open up the country.....u capitalism has run its course....when u have to work during a pandemic.
Who told you that this is an exclusively American sentiment? Look around, look beyond our shores and you will see that there are stupid people everywhere, even though we may take the crown!
I've seen John Oliver talk about some pretty disgustingly infuriating topics over the years, but I don't think I have ever heard such genuine anger in his voice as in this episode.
The fact that there is actual silence when he speaks about it makes it even more grim. But the truth has to be that way. I'm actually scared for this country
Yeah, as a German, the "I'd rather die for my country" rhetoric seems awfully familiar. Except for the ridiculous turn of "I'd rather die for my country's economy".
@Danijel Mornarić Struggle through a depression together, or sacrifice our health system and 3-5% of the population...let's see.... Yes, 5%. With proper care, it's probably 0.9% of those infected that die; with overloaded health systems, it becomes 5% of infected like in Italy.
@Danijel Mornarić what's interesting is that the average death rate on a nationwide scale goes down during recession, so hey, lowering death rates in multiple ways.
What an ignorant, lying P.O.S.! The Lt. Governor of Texas is willing to die for the Americans for the economy so his grandchildren will be able to enjoy the country. That’s the kind of shit that will kill more people than necessary.
The Brazilian president, Bolsonaro one day said "Unfortunately, there it will be some deaths, it's a shame." And more recently "Everyone will die someday". He literally said that working is the treatment for Corona.
“Our children will not be a slave to debt.” Unless it’s the debt that almost every American faces from going to university for ridiculous sums of money. That kind of slavery to debt is just fine.
The entire economy runs on debt. This is the case in a lot of countries. All money is used to invest, debt is taken and invested. Then at some point it all collapses. Cycle repeats.
Hooray for Capitalism! Well, here's to hoping that now people begin to ask questions and think for themselves, not acting like a little bird, getting fed from momma bird Fox. Oversimplifying, i know, but still, there is some truth there
He just want clicks. Didn't you hear what he said at the end? He is like a child. Wants to be a police. When confronted with a bully, starts crying. If he is now in ICU, he will be bawling his eyes out in his heart since he won't have any breath to even cry.
Same could be said for the other side that seems to have forgotten that history has shown that violence tends to brake out when people can no longer afford food.
True, but for some reason, I feel like you're missing the real irony of your statement. What I'm seeing is a whole bunch of people who are more than happy to see hundreds of thousands of people die in a global economic Depression, as long as they can pretend that the REAL issue is Trump's refusal to spread enough panic over what is basically a bad case of the goddamn flu. Do you really think that economic disasters have no real-world impact? From the deaths caused by depression, mental illness and suicide to the mass starvation of third-world peoples who rely on the economic prosperity of first world nations, the cost in lives and misery is going to be far, far higher from economic collapse than it ever could have been from Covid-19. I dislike Trump as much as anyone, but at some point you need to ask yourselves in a global suicide pact is really the answer.
I can't stop laughing at the dude saying, that he doesn't want his children and grandchildren be a slave to debt. I mean my dude, then do something about student loans, health care and minimum wage?????
Saga Nova it’s kind of like a bitch slap to all millennials who are in the medical field who have upwards of 300k or more in debt from college and further schooling like doctorates... so um how about fix that first

Adam Porter he is literally getting people killed by his inaction. His downplaying of the threat certainly has gotten more people infected and thus killed than what would have happened if he didn’t care about the fucking number of the Dow Jones that “is bigger than its ever been”, as if it hasn’t always gone up under almost every single president ever.
@Gluepops what's donut theory you don't need to answer because i'm just being lazy, but yeah capitalism is terrible at being flexible and we can't always be making more money especially when the rich don't contribute to society.
Gluepops thank god someone said it, major change needs to happen, but we shouldnt forget what the system did for us, competitive markets are a valuable tool, but we need to change how we manage them
@@amanshukla8758 lol i'm not sure what makes communism different from socialism buti don't want to abolish money. i hope more people can be convinced though
It isn’t about capitalism vs socialism, the more major issue is our dedication the the stock market. Most European countries are capitalist, including Norway, Denmark and such. They’re systems are working fine. America’s mindset is just so fudged that some people are willing to throw away lives to save the riches wealth
So, what I can't figure out is, senior citizen Republicans are saying they will give up their lives to save the economy for their kids and grandkids to have a future, but they wont sacrifice part of their vast fortunes to give those same grandkids a livable future with clean air and water. Great priorities....
And just to expand this tough, this is a lung disease, how big it the impact of air pollution? Breathing NOx and other emissions form cars every single day of your live for sure doesn't help.
omg when he said that i BURST OUT LAUGHING --- who were the people who kept the horrible student debt system in place, kept property prices skyrocketing for the sake of the free market, refuse to allow the next generation to have proper employment benefits, refuse to allow for universal health care instead of private insurance so you won't have medical debt?
This is one of the most eerie episodes I've ever watched. The sheer tension and anger cannot be understated. I'm so glad I'm in Quebec, Canada, where our government and the people are majoritarily taking this crisis seriously, but watching this makes me fuckin' depressed. Being this delusional when you're that deep in it is absolutely insane. To anyone in the US who reads this, wish you all the best, stay safe.
Yes, eerie and dark. Makes me depressed as well considering how more and more information is known as time goes by, but the delusion doesn't seem to let up. Every week that goes by it's more baffling to see people still maintaining their crazy positions, but I guess relying on information (or being able to scrutinize what information is reliable) was never their strong suit anyway. Glad I live in a country that lucked into having strong leadership in place for this crisis, but I feel very sorry for Americans they have to put up with this. And still even democrats consider Bernie to be "too socialist". Just think how much better they would've been had they not messed up the 2016 primaries.
He's doing a pretty good job trying to take that stage again... if he can't beat covid might as well join it and lead to more people dying. That'll get him in the news!
What's Happenin' Now? - The minute I saw that I wanted to say: “Good! Go out, catch COVID-19 and die at home, leave your money and empire to your kids. That’s how you help the economy: You create new jobs by leaving your niche, and leave your accrued wealth to your kids.” But he doesn’t really believe it: He wants other people to die, so that his stocks will go up.
He should volunteer to be the first to prove us liberals wrong and go to the gym with Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, and the grim reaper himself.
They didn’t seem to mind the first $23 trillion they put us into debt with. Or destroying the environment with climate change... but oh right, climate change is just another “hoax” like this virus..... fucking idiots
I have an idea, why don't ALL of us refuse to pay our debts. Money isn't real. This virus could be the best thing to happen to the human race, time to abolish monopoly money.

80% of Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck. In a sane country, that would translate to "80% of Americans live in poverty". Hopefully once you pay off that college debt you'll be able to not spend the rest of your life in debt.
You have him confused with someone who gives a shit about OTHER people's children. He doesn't. He cares only about HIS children & grandchildren having a nice fat stock portfolio, at the expense of other people's children.
That’s your own fault if you take on debt you can’t afford to pay off with a gender studies degree. There are plenty of community colleges and state schools are affordable.
The silence is unnerving, especially given the subject matter. It's delivered well, but made extra blunt without a laugh track. Blunt is good right now, gets the message across.
And the jokes are still funny, I don't need audience laughing to tell me when something was a joke. I really have to give credit to John and his writing/research team for putting it all together so well. They always do a good job, but I feel like they're nailing it right now.
He is saying their should be a parade for the healthcare workers and my first thought was I almost got mad at him and wanted to yell: many of them might not even be alive to see it !
It’s crazy watching these a year later; his videos are a perfect slice of history that people in the future can use to really get a quick and concise feel for how all of this went down
I don't live in the us so idk how it's there but where I live I know lots of middle people, myself included, who aren't afraid to die cause we understand whether or not there's an afterlife, death is part of life, just the last one, it's also inevitable and what gives life meanings. "An economy that falls always rises, but a life that is lost never recovers" - Alberto Fernández. President of Argentina President of Argentina during the speech in which the mandatory quarantine was extended for 13 more days, until after Easter
precisely the words of a corrupt good-for-nothing hypocrite who is running the country he leads into abject poverty and despair. I should know, I'm in it
Now, if he wanted the economy to recover more quickly... why is he broadcasting from home and not his office? Seems like a do what I say, not as I do kind of guy.
As a critical care ICU RN, I can tell you that the maximum efficiency that you said the US healthcare system was operating at is a facade & a myth that hospitals would want the public to believe...I speak from experience & the hospital system has always worked understaffed , overloaded the staff, & put patients in unsafe patient assignments. The nurses & doctors have just handled it bc we’re there to help people.. Hospitals consider nurses a bottom line & have never valued, appreciated, nor respected the jobs that nurses do.. for decades nurses have tried to advocate for patients to no avail.... only when it affects public image or the bottom line do hospitals try to step up & unload the burden - bc w/out your nursing staff the hospital doesn’t run. PERIOD!
Kristen Putman As a ER RN, I completely agree with you. I hope you and your family are doing well and please, do take care in and outside of the hospital. If you have the time, when you get out of work, engage in your favorite hobby just to clear the mind to avoid, or at least, minimize the burn out.
@Kristen Putman @Paula Rosario YOU ARE THE HEROS. Nurses have always been the heros and always will be. The nation’s just finally noticing. Thank you so much and I’m praying for you both!!❤️
Amen to that..it took a pandemic for ppl to know how important nurses are and how overworked and underappreciated we are ..that's just sad.stay safe guys..it's going to be a long run.
Preach, sister! Fellow RN here. A healthcare system already bursting at the seams that relentlessly grinds its providers into the ground is what we have always had.
@@MoreUkesLessNukes Nurses aren't heroes. They're people just like everyone else doing their job and wanting to be protected by OSHA's standards like everyone else. This PPE shortage is appalling and people are calling nurses heroes instead of advocating for their rights.

Kinda wondering how the fuck you got 100k in school debt. What did you do? Go to Berkley for 10 years switching majors over and over until you landed on Gender Studies?
the essential workers dont deserve a parade, they deserve basic rights I mean come on, servers having to survive on tips? cashiers not being allowed to sit? are you a third world country?
The medical professionals also deserve free therapy after this is over Edit: so a lot of people in the replies are correcting me to say that _everyone_ deserves free mental health (and health care). And yeah. But that's not really relevant in this video that has a part that lists the things the _medical_ professionals deserve that _didn't_ include therapy. Yes all lives matter but sometimes it's important to talk about specific problems specific groups of people have in order to make immediate changes without having to slog through all of the bullshit that overhauling the entire system would take. You hurt the issue by broadening the scope. You also hurt the issue by potentially offending your allies by assuming that just because they didn't write a book detailing all of their views that they don't hold those views. Everyone would get along a lot better if we could all be better about taking things in good faith. I appreciate everyone supporting our medical professionals and I hope everyone stays safe. Thank you for the likes
If I may, I suggest therapy right now, ongoing. They are right at the front of the pandemic, they are going to work wondering if there are going to be enough masks and they are watching patients die by the dozen despite their best efforts. Being a healthcare worker is stressfull on an average day, I can't even imagine what working through a pandemic must feel to them.
"I don't want my children to be a slave to debt" is a pretty hot take for someone following an ideology that defends the American way of college tuition and private healthcare.
As a Canadian, this really angers me, when trump said he wasn’t gonna ship n95’s to Canada using CANADIAN wood, I guess he forgot what we did on 9/11, I guess we’ll also just stop sending the hundreds of doctors across the ambassador bridge to go help in midland Detroit cities. What a pathetic tiny man. Come at me Americans.
The Trudeau govt has been voting against the U.S in the U.N at every turn. Ntm that if it wasn't for the U.S we would all be speaking german, or chines, maybe north korean, maybe russian. We as Canadians owe the U.S more then we could ever repay.
PsyDuck I’m thankful for that, however I’m talking about right now. Not what happened hundreds of years ago. What trump is doing right now is pathetic and meanwhile I’m listening to an actual LEADER.
@@gamerstar117 I only know of the vote where Canada voted 'yes' on deliberations to give Palestinians the right to self-determination. What other votes did we break with the US over? And what do you know about Ambassador Kelly Craft? I know she used to be the US Ambassador to Canada, and she wasn't exactly a bright star during her time here in Ottawa. She's a dyed in the wool Republican, she and her husband have given millions to to various red state campaigns, but none more so than Trump's inaugural fund. Her husband is a coal magnate from Kentucky, and they've spent years, both in the private sector and now in public office, skewing the conversation around climate change and the just transition away from coal consumption. She was put up for the role thanks to Mitch McConnell, which is a big red flag. She's towing the Trump unilateral mindset in the country's official approaches to the climate crisis, refugee resettlement, immigration policy, recognizing health and gender initiatives around the globe, and geopolitical conflict in Syria, Yemen, Iran, Myanmar, Libya, and Sudan. Previous American UN Ambassadors have been coming forward in recent days to denounce America's withdraw from multinational bodies of oversight, including the retracting of funding to the WHO. Nikki Haley called it one of Putin's "wildest dreams." What do we owe them for backtracking on years of international cooperation that could have cemented North American leadership as the envy of the world stage, and pushed back against the rapid growth of authoritarian governments around the world? And you think that Canadians owe more to the States than they owe us? Do you know how long they've been a brain drain on our country for, luring away our brightest minds and strong-arming our industries into beneficial relationships for themselves? And as for the glib, punchy comment about how without them we'd be speaking another foreign language, you can forget about that. Every major international conflict with the exception of Vietnam and Iraq, Canada was there, and still have deployed service members around the globe. The only reason there's been escalation with North Korea is a direct correlation to America's continued presence on the Korean peninsula and the era of nuclear proliferation that was seen as an intimidation measure, not as an American insurance plan for maintaining peace abroad. And Trump seems to be perfectly fine with allowing foreign influence in American elections and international diplomacy, so that bogus claim that we might all be speaking Russian might actually come to fruition if he continues to win a second term.
15:35 "just so you understand...are you ready?" Wow, can you hear that condescending tone he takes there? Yuck, what cringe that was too listen to and watch. Trump never fails to shock me with how stupid, petty, and perverse he can be.
@mark bushnell if you mean on the right side, looked like a "paper cabinet".. sorta like file cabinets, except for larger sheets of paper, and maybe more "drawers"...
I'm willing to have others die. "1 death is a tragedy, 1 million is a statistic" We can all be grateful that Trump is president and not Stalin. It's kind of pathetic when you only rank a little better than Stalin.
It's a horrible death, too. It's not some kind of "you just quietly go to sleep" death. It's a gasping for air every moment in terror kind of death. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Won't even be a casket of it got as bad as we're guessing. Just a black or white plastic bag in a clearing either earmarked at your local cemetary, or a field on the outskirts of town. Sadly I know where a few of those are from my old cemetary job days. Edit: "gets as bad I mean."
Italy recently made cremation mandatory for the duration of the crisis. Faster than digging mass graves, and most European countries don't exactly have a lot of spare real estate, anyway.
You should look up the entire video of Italian officials shouting at these reckless people. It's funny but it will also show you the extent of their frustration and disgust. Hopefully public shaming like that will convince people to stay indoors.
Trump: "I think there are certain people that would like it [the country] not to open so quickly, I think there are certain people who would like it to do financially poorly because they think it would be very good as far as defeating me at the polls." 4:07 It's honestly INSANE to look at that count.... 593 deaths in the US.
Where I live, at this stage in the timeline, that many people have died....by 3 orders of magnitude. *_Over half a million people._*
More Americans died from THIS virus than during WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and all the myriad Middle East wars....combined.

The entire economy runs on debt. This is the case in a lot of countries. All money is used to invest, debt is taken and invested. Then at some point it all collapses. Cycle repeats.

The nurses & doctors have just handled it bc we’re there to help people.. Hospitals consider nurses a bottom line & have never valued, appreciated, nor respected the jobs that nurses do.. for decades nurses have tried to advocate for patients to no avail.... only when it affects public image or the bottom line do hospitals try to step up & unload the burden - bc w/out your nursing staff the hospital doesn’t run. If I may, I suggest therapy right now, ongoing. Her husband is a coal magnate from Kentucky, and they've spent years, both in the private sector and now in public office, skewing the conversation around climate change and the just transition away from coal consumption. She was put up for the role thanks to Mitch McConnell, which is a big red flag.
