    Great review...I have the same model in 6 creed. with a 26 inch barrel and feel the same way about it. I would definitely buy another.
    With my handloads it shoots very good. 👍
    One of my favorite coyote and deer hunting rifles.

    I have the 6.5 in the wilderness series 24 inch barrel. Love it i have one complaint it's very finicky with ammo. My gun likes the 147 grain match i get 0.445 inch groups all day. You put any other ammo through it, it gets 1.342 group that's crap.

    Wanting something with a more classic mid 2000s GWOT M24 form factor without dumping six grand into a build. Been obsessing over this rifle for a few days. I am SO SICK of the modern tactical side of things that I've been focusing on for a few years. I really just want some time to get back to a more traditional form, focus on marksmanship and outdoorsman activities, and take a little break from the doom and gloom of the "tactical" life. While still having something capable of employing in a tactical sense.

    I had one of these in 308. The best load I could work up for it using 12 different kinds of bullets and 5 different kinds of powders was 1.1-1.2 MOA for 5-shot groups. For most match ammo it shot ~1.5-2 MOA for 5-shot groups. I sent it to Bergara twice to get it fixed. The first time they returned it without even telling me they were sending it back. I had to pay the courier to hold it. The 2nd time they sent it back with rust all over the bolt and inside the barrel. I asked for a refund because the gun didn't shoot worth a damn and they damaged my gun by making it rust. They then accused me of making up the rust/causing it myself and also of shooting handloads and refused to give me a refund. In the end I sold the hunk of junk and bought a Tikka CTR which averages ~0.5 MOA with every bullet/powder combination I have tried in it.
    Bergara rifles look like match rifles and Tikka rifles shoot like match rifles.

      @@UltimateArms Yes, it could be an issue with the 308 version of the B-14 HMR or just bad luck on my part. Needless to say, I'm none too impressed with their reaction to my accuracy problems.

      @@michaelhill6451 I'm currently thinking about buying this rifle or a tikka in 308, slightly leaning towards the tikka

      Its possible your rifle had a stock seating issue. Some others have had issues with other stocks that were painted and they had to clean all the over spray off the recoil lugs. Also check to torque settings on action screws. I used to see on their website they used to have a bullet recommendation for each cartridge. An example in 300 win mag they recommended a 165 gr bullet. Who the hell who hunts big game wants a gun that only shoot that bullet grain. I would want 180-210gr bullets to shoot well in that cartridge. The Tikkas shoot better because europeans use cold hammer forging I read. A lot if factory ammo is loaded too fast. My 308 loved norma whitetail ammo in 150 gr and my velocity was only around 2560 fps. 1/2" groups in a CVA Cascade. Made in same factory as Bergara in GA.

    I have the same rifle, and maybe it's just me, but I don't find it all that great for packing around in the woods. It's MUCH heavier than any other rifle I own, save for the Winchester 1886, and that one is SUPPOSED to be heavy.

    • @UltimateArms
      @UltimateArms  Месяц назад

      its ok, but as a hunting rifle no way just to damn heavy. thanks for the comment!!

      @@UltimateArms You're right, but people aren't aware of the "backup kill" feature. If you run out of ammo, you can always drop it out of a tree stand to kill your deer.

    Groups may have been a little tighter if cheek weld was kept between shots. Great review otherwise.
