Thanks for the update! I bought a 6.5 CM with the heavy barrel based on your original review and I love it!! The negatives you mentioned I agree with, an adjustable cheek pice would be nice and a few other minor things, but overall its a great rifle. Mine seems to love the Hornaty ELD rounds and doesn't group well eating anything less than 140G. One last complaint would be when the damn Skeleton hand grip becomes available. I want that skeleton look across the whole rifle, but ETA on the ultralight stock seems to be way out. Anyway, Thanks for your original review. I love the rifle, and for the money Vs. the results, it's a no brainer! Cheers!

Everyone is down talking the 2020. I got one for myself because.. it literally has every feature you would want on a rimfire. accuracy is multifarious. it’s a combo of your setup. the 2020 is the most accurate with Aguila standard or center x. I’m still not sure if it’s the manufacturing or the velocity that’s making those two brands the best out of the rifle… but it shoots fine and is very accurate. there are 20 diffrent factors as to why you may have a bad grouping. it’s foolish to blame it all on the barrel.

Thank you Vernon. My best guess in regard to the accuracy issue is that: maybe the chamber reamer was machined to an excessively large diameter. I base this theory on my recollection of C.E. (Ed) Harris’s article: Getting The Best From Your 22 Rimfire: Know what matters and save a lot of effort’ in Ken Warner (Ed.) Gun Digest 1992, pp. 148-60. The most critical factor that Harris isolated, in regard to rimfire accuracy is: chamber diameter. He also discovered that for general use in a magazine rifle, the best compromise was a .22lr match chamber, as used in competition self-loading pistols. It has the match diameter at the front of chamber, sporting diameter at the back of the chamber; and match chamber length. Harris’s article kick-started the modern trend of highly accurate .22lr repeaters at sensible prices and revealed the true story behind those horribly unbalanced fat-barrelled Ruger 10-22 rifles. Classic ‘follow the leader’ nonsense! The fact that so many writers have chosen to suppress mention of Harris’s role is worse-in my opinion-than W.W. Greener’s notorious vagueness regarding competitor’s names. At least Greener made occasional mention thereof. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿. P.S. Please wait a month or so if you would like further details on Harris’ articles in the 1992 and 1993 GD editions. Those works have been packed for a house move.

The MDT rings seem really solid but their installation instructions make me very nervous. They tell you to crank down one side completely and then torque down the other side to scope manufacturers spec. Problem with this is all of the scope manufacturers will tell you to use the torque settings listed by the ring manufacturer. Each tells you to use the other's torque specs and neither are published. I've used the vortex rings at this price point before too which are inferior to the MDT but at least they have the torque values printed on the rings themselves. MDT also makes a 0.85 low ring which is among the lowest I've seen on the market, and a $350 Canadian set of rings I can't bring myself to buying. Thanks for the video!

Wanting something with a more classic mid 2000s GWOT M24 form factor without dumping six grand into a build. Been obsessing over this rifle for a few days. I am SO SICK of the modern tactical side of things that I've been focusing on for a few years. I really just want some time to get back to a more traditional form, focus on marksmanship and outdoorsman activities, and take a little break from the doom and gloom of the "tactical" life. While still having something capable of employing in a tactical sense.

Nice review and comparison. I don't own any current Browning models, but I do own a Stevens 334 in .308 and also 6.5 Creedmoor. Both came with Turkish walnut stocks that are nothing short of gorgeous. The walnut version has a nicely finished and fluted bolt, a metal trigger and the barrel is free-floating, so I believe that there is more to the walnut upgrade than just the stock. My triggers aren't bad and I'm fine with the take-up, but I do wish they could be adjusted without risk of damage. I thought it was interesting in the split screen shooting videos that while there was some muzzle rise with the Browning, recoil on the Stevens was mostly straight back.

@@markn4526 these ones i would use at the range more. the bergara is to heavy for my liking walking in the bush the howa i would like to try it out hunting, but with the thinner barrel instead. most of the hunting i do would be 100yrds or less mostly bush hunting no clear areas. so i use alot of 3030 lever action for hunting, but there is one rifle i will be going hunting with this year. love that rifle.!!

@@markn4526 The goal is always for a hunt, but I spend a lot of time at the range. I will go through several thousand rounds this year split maionly between 6.5 and 308. All my long guns are bought to hunt but end of spending a lot of time practicing. I have Tikkas, Bergs, and Howas (and other lower end stuff). My main deer and pronghorn gun is a Tikka. Elk gun is a Bergara. IMO, after many thousand of rounds, Bergara is the best value. It's amazing how much gun you can get for sub $1k.

you could put it on it, but why would you? a red dot reticle, would be alot better, a deer slayer slug gun is really only good for 100 yards, so a red dot reticle would be alot better! hope that helps you make a decision! thanks for the question and dont forget to subscribe!

@@UltimateArms tbh i dont like red dots for some reason i never felt comfortable shoot them compaired to a normal crosshair now the ammo i shoot is saying at 150 yds the trajectory is zero so would i sight in for it. sorry about all the questions ive shot guns and hunted all my life and always sighted in for 100 no matter what and never hunted with a slug gun

@Gnleehow nope zero for 100 and hold a bit is all. You can get red dots with circles and a dot. I've never heard of anyone using a scope for a slug gun. So why I would sat no to it. You can try bit I wouldn't. My daughter uses a slug gin for hunting and I put a dot sight on it for her
