    Awesome video! Can you select 4k in geforce now when running on steam deck?

    Gfn is crucial and it's awesome with the deck. They just need to get their act together and set up a legit flatpak so everything is clean and simple.

      yep. people need to embrace it, i understand the sentiment towards cloud gaming in general, since i've been on their position once, until i tried it and being blown away with how good it actually performs, considering it's running on the cloud. It really is how the future of gaming will be.

    the input lag is prett bad. I can even see the lag between stick inputs and then the camera moving. This is the main reason I dont use Geforce Now or any internet based game streaming. I really like using steam remote play to stream over the network from my gaming pc to my steam deck. With a fast network there is no input lag.

      Via wifi there can be a bit of lag, GFN over ethernet cable on a Mac or low-end PC is where it shines. Barely any input lag, great gaming experience

      i know, when i recorded this video, there are around 5 people using the internet at my house. but i've tried that before when there are only like me and 1-2 people using the same connection, and not only the visual looks sharper, the input latency are really good when i was playing Battlefield 2042.
      But as you know, if you already have a dedicated gaming systems like PC or consoles, then you don't actually need this.
      I think GFN for now is a great alternative for casual gamers who don't want to invest on a gaming systems.
      It definitely has potential since the only "barrier" for cloud gaming are latency which will be better as time goes with better internet connection/coverage, and server locations.

      @joey yep, i've tried it with my macbook pro as well, it's works great, the input latency was barely noticable, i still can do well on FPS games

      @@dewickedthere will always be input lag solely because of transcoding, let alone any added network latency. This is fine for single player games, preferably not shooters and played on gamepad. I use Moonlight over local network and the mouse lag is very perceivable - with that being said, input response on the host PC is instant it's just that on client the overhead from stream processing adds the delay. This is unfortunately something one can't get around but on the other hand it's not that big of a deal in some types of games. While I wouldn't stream session of Escape from Tarkov or, God forbid, Quake Champions, I have absolutely no problem playing Black Desert Online that permanently runs on a dedicated, headless machine that I can tap into from my main PC at any given time. Yes, mouse feels a bit floaty (and on default every time you connect to host Windows forces mouse acceleration on shock makes mouse borderline unusable, need to use a script to disable it every time you connect to automate with services) but it doesn't matter that much in games where fine aiming and crisp response times aren't mandatory. I did play Cyberpunk 2077 when it released while at work, game running back home at my PC and I've had to bring gamepad because MKB experience was mildly infuriating. On gamepad it was quite playable, perhaps also because I survived the garbage dumpster fire that Killzone 2 was on PS3 all these years ago so my tolerance for gamepad inherently sucking ass is quite a bit higher than even slightest mouse delay.

      @@dewickedno, it will not get better - technology is not the issue, the physics are. Even if you went down to 1ms on transcoding and ran it through local network, there still will be delay - in the same vein how you can tell the difference between 60fps and 144fps. The number of frames is not what makes game feel better, it's the decreasing frametime that makes game more responsive.

    How did you set it up? Through chrome then add to steam with launch commands?

    • @dewicked
      @dewicked  Год назад +4

      yep. add chrome as non-steam game with launch commands to set up chrome to automatically open GeForce NOW, set up the aspect ratio/resolution, as well as the ability to use the deck controller in the game.

    • @deathskull77

      What aspect ratio and resolution did you use for 1200p? Thanks for responding

    • @dewicked
      @dewicked  Год назад

      @@deathskull77 it’s 16:10 aspect ratio. Set the window size to 1024,640 so it will feel like a native app when you run it on Gaming Mode

    Just 1 question, WHY. Isn't SD already capable running CYBERPUNK2077?

    • @dewicked
      @dewicked  Год назад +1

      Visually, it looks much better. Performance wise, it runs well. And most importantly in cloud gaming, the game doesn’t run on the SD hardware, you’re basically stream the game just like streaming videos. That’s why you can get like 5-6 hours of game time on the deck instead of just 1 -2 hours running it natively.

    • @fauzan.developer
      @fauzan.developer Год назад

      @@dewicked I know dude, but input lag is pretty bad. You can't enjoy this game running on cloud.

    • @dewicked
      @dewicked  Год назад

      @@fauzan.developer i’m just sharing what i was experiencing. I’m a fps guy, i play on PC and consoles, most of my games actually are multiplayer fps. So i know how bad is “bad” for a shooter. You also need to understand the context, because let’s be real it’s cloud gaming, but the fact that i can still do pretty well in games like Battlefield against other players, proves that it’s runs pretty well for a cloud gaming. And i know it’s not a competitive shooter game, but a casual one, but hey, like i said, cloud gaming was never meant to replace native gaming experience. It’s an alternative.
      And i actually have tested this twice in two different region. I’ve tested this in SEA (singapore server) back then when i still lives in SEA, it runs decent but far from the experience that i have here in the US. The input latency was higher there, i never said there’s no input latency here, but when it comes to that, it’s a pretty damn good for a cloud gaming.

      Because it's hardware is similar to a PS4, and Cyberpunk is a current gen game, don't except to be running 60 or 100+fps on a 400$ handheld

      Custom template via plugins (like Decky loader). Steam interface is just a we page and you can modify it any way you want with CSS style sheet if you know what you are doing.
