I don't like how it was unforgiving at the beginning but I think I'm getting the hang of it. But I still need to grind up for PokeBall and potion ingredients. No way that I'm going to buy them

This is a late response, but gonna make it anyway for anyone else who comes across this comment:
Unlike typical Pokemon games, obedience in PLA is based on the "met" level of the Pokemon rather than the current level. So basically it will only make Pokemon disobedient if they are caught at too high of a level. If you catch something within your limit and level it up past that limit, it does not become disobedient.

no, you didn't, why would the EXACT story immediately be thought in your head "oh but there's 108, I guess your the last one" would be normal, but also just assuming that they are tricking you, you probably just watched someone else's video and were like "oh I should pretend I knew for likes"

Anyone who knows Spiritomb will know the significance of 108, Kae. Don't act like this 108th spirit twist was a shocking surprise. It was so blatantly obvious to all of us why we only had 107 to collect.
@gengarzilla1685 I misremembered why there was only 107. I thought either Vessa gave me a demonstration as a way to collect my first wisp, or that the first wisp was already in the Odd Keystone. Plus, I fell for the sealing trick because in my mind I was like "ok we're trapping them all in Spiritomb, this is good." I do like that it's a trick
I've realized that how high the ball jumps reflects the success of the catch. A low jump is guaranteed, but a high jump is a much lower chance
a low jump is basically the critical capture equivalent in this game, unless you count back strikes

Well, yes and no. It's basically the equivalent of "shakes" in the regular games. Normal captures have 3, while crit captures have 1.
I thought it's guaranteed, but I remember at least one low jump that broke out, but you still right.
I just started again and it seems at the start you will get way more high jumps that still capture, because I can't remember that from my 100% save state
For those who are confused.
Drowsy replaced sleep and works like confusion. You also take more damage.
Frostbite is like burn but instead affects the special atk stat
Sleep/drowsy is more like paralysis rather than confusion. You don't hurt yourself, there's just a chance you don't get to move that turn. And similarly to paralysis dropping your speed, sleep/drowsy drops your defense.
Mikey is so impatient. I think that's why he's having trouble dodging. He dodges when the pokemon finishes the animation, not when the attack actually comes out.

Future tip: If you engage in battle when you're closing to blacking out, your player's health will be restored and you won't have to worry about loosing your stuff. Basically, quickly start a fight when the screen goes red
I have no idea if Mikey recorded these all in one go, but some tips for anyone starting new (without spoilers)
1. Check the battle order by pressing Y in a battle. If you choose to use a strong or agile style move while the battle order is shown, you can see if you’ll move twice, once, or if the enemy will move twice or once.
2. Catch Alpha Pokémon. Use your heavy balls (or whatever variation you have), bait the Pokémon to show its back and throw the ball from behind. You will need to use a LOT of balls to catch these things, but they are absolutely worth it. They are very high level, have really good stats, and have an advanced movepool.
3. In the village at the dojo, you can talk to the girl in front. She is the move tutor, and although it’s a bit limited, it’s still worth seeing what you can get. Also, the teaching pool expands with every rank.
4. ACTUALLY USE THE STYLES. Both are extremely powerful for catching and killing, and if you use the order, you can see if the move is going to benefit you, or hinder you.
5. CATCH EVERYTHING. Every rank is important, and you get more points for more Pokémon at a time. These points are pretty damn hard to get later on, so get as many as you can at one point.
6. Money. Later on, you’ll be able to buy ultra balls and such for money from a certain vendor before the final battle. Ultra balls are pretty easy to make, but it’s good to stock up anyways because money is easy to get.
7.Space Time distortions. These not only have higher shiny rates, but also have the shards. These can be used later with stardust to craft stars that you can sell. Buy the recipe from the crafting place ASAP.
8. Mass outbreaks have a ridiculous shiny rate. Any time you go to exit the village, and it says there’s a mass outbreak of a certain Pokémon, GO. Not only will it give you the shiny chance, it’s also an opportunity to get some points for certain Pokémon.
9. Stealth. Use it. It’s really easy to sneak up on Pokémon, as long as you have a patch of grass, or a smoke bomb. Using these, you can easily sneak up on ANYTHING.
10. Explore! You will always be rewarded for exploring.
11. Team comp is important because there is a really hard battle post game, but until then, use what you want.
12. Unfortunately, friendship evolutions are still in the game, but they’re much easier. Just use whatever Pokémon you’re trying to have a high friendship with to gather materials and win battles. I got a Sylveon in a matter of like 40 minutes.
That’s all I can think about right now after about 90 hours of gameplay, but use these tips CAUSE I REALLY WISH I DID WHEN I STARTED.
I like how he is struggling in Lilligant, wait until he gets to Electrode and Avalugg he is just going to suffer
I still think Avalugg was my hardest fight. You’re given such little room to move! And Avalugg is MASSIVE! I struggled with all the nobles but I think Avalugg was the worst, followed by Arcanine.
I had the most trouble with Arcanine due to getting stuck

Charm is not Agatha's ancestor. Charm is Bertha's ancestor. She got Rhydon later on.
shes actually both's ancestors. im pretty sure that they are related in canon so she is just the ancestor of both
@@jpshy1130 I checked the website. Apparently, Charm is both Bertha's and Agatha's ancestors. Bertha and Agatha is not related to each other in the present timeline.
In the anime Bertha and Agatha are sisters. Charm is reference to that, confirming they are at least related in some way.
When your Pokémon faint and are prompted to send in another, you can bypass risking the rest of your team by pressing B to Run Away
I finally take a break from this game, but I can never truly leave. It is everywhere. Still a good thing, though.
Edit: now that I have seen Mikey’s death, I am pretty sure I actually picked up his satchel for him.

Watching other people play this game and really struggle with the boss fights is real amusing to me. I love souls like games so the dodging was practically muscle memory
Most of the poketobers seem to mostly be Pokemon only so when they changed up everything they’re all struggling. Mikey appears to be on the road to underlevel he’ll though lol
I struggled quite a bit. I’ve played an ungodly amount of botw, and the games are similar enough that my brain is like “oh, I know how to handle this” except it doesn’t because this isn’t botw.
I play Bow in Monster Hunter so I caught on to dodging times pretty quick in this game lol. ( For those that don't play those. Bow users are a teensy bit squishy )

Just a tip: drowsiness seems to help boost catch rate quite a lot, i was able to catch every post game legendary and various alpha pokemon while they were drowsy and in yellow health using an ultra ball. Drowsiness is helpful
Sleep already boosts catch rate more than other conditions, equal to freeze. Drowsiness being very helpful for catching would be expected.
Darkrai made catching legendaries ridiculously easy thanks to their one attack that causes drowsiness and lowering their stats.

I think quillfish can learn Barb Barrage(quillfish new move) in the later levels and that move also makes him evolve to Overquill, the new quillfish Evo
Barb Barrage is a physical move
I think Hisuian Qwilfish actually has it the moment you catch it. In order to evolve it to Overqwil, you need to have it use Barb Barrage in strong style 20 times.
Besides, Barb Barrage is Poison, not Dark.
For space distortions it's best to pick a spot in grass and wait. So when the pokemon appear you aren't immediately jumped.

I got trapped in one spot for the 3rd warden and just had to sit there while they charged up a long range attack. I mean it was smart for a warden to do that but felt cheap lol

Hey Mikey if it helps, if you click X on the move selection screen in battle it brings up the move description and if you click + (the magnifying glass) it will show yours and the enemies pokemon status conditions. Sleep only has a chance to make you not move instead of making you not move at all. ALSO also make sure to use the Grit pebbles, and other grit stuff it makes life ALOT easier
I can't wait till challenges come out for this game such as "every pokemon is an alpha" or something like that
I remember seeing the hippowdon alpha in the mirelands, and it looked odd to me because it was tan. I immediately battled it finding out it was shiny and was able to catch it ( After it killed half of my team ). WORTH IT

I got the opposite thing happen to me. I saw a giant galaie with red eyes and thought it was shiny... Turns out to be an alpha
I honestly think that the Lilligant fight along with the one with the fifth noble (which will go unnamed for the purposes of preventing spoilers to those who haven't gotten that far) are probably some of my favorites

Honestly, hands down one of the best pokemon games ive ever played! I even came across a shiny Starly about 4hrs in. My 2nd ever shiny without breeding, hunting etc. So that seals it for me
It's mostly because of overworld shinies and a lack of loading zones. Many people have failed a shiny in Let's Go by walking into a door the second it spawns, but that isn't a thing in Legends. Also, the shinies make a noise, so there isn't even a way to miss them by looking the wrong way at the wrong time. All that combined makes shinies basically 1/500.

I’ve caught four random shinies so far in Arceus, 5 if you count the Ponyta. My friend was quite upset.
I got Hisuian Goodra, was so lucky when I caught the Hisuian Sligoo, it was right after the Ursaluna fight, there's a place where Wyrdeer can actually jump across the river and that's how I caught it early. Immediately after the Lilligant fight I went to the Cobalt Coastlands where it was raining and evolved it. His name is Goomer
Same. I realized it was the only possible place Goomy could still be, so I found the narrowest part of the river to jump and got me my Dragon God.
I did the same thing! Now Goop is a permanent part of my team. :)
I'm like, 90% sure because of the fact that charm has a gengar AND Rhydon, that she's a common ancestors between Bertha and Agatha

I just beat the main story of the game today and I can say that I love Legends Arkoos. No spoilers but the story goes crazy near the end, each of the Nobles are really fun fights (especially the second and fifth ones), and the Pokémon that is noble #2 is now tied with Garbodor for my favorite Pokémon cause it’s pretty and it is an amazing physical attacker and was my MVP. (Found an alpha of its prevolution and evolved it.)

Michael, you can switch. It works just like any other game: select Pokémon and choose which one you want to swap.
Probably because of agile style Mikey didn't have a chance to switch then got his pokemon fainted before he got a turn
He means that he can’t switch before his opponent sends out a pokemon
I was referring to how I am not given a chance to switch once I see their lead. If their Pokemon is faster, then they just get to hit me, whereas in traditional Pokemon I have a chance to withdraw before they attack

You'd have to change the rules of a nuzlocke so much to even make it work, given you actually HAVE to catch a ton of pokemon to even progress.
@@MDoorpsy some are doing a mass release rule where you can catch other pokemon but can only use/keep the first encounter in an area.
Give it a few days, Pokemon Challenges will probably figure out some workarounds lol

Have you been giving your pokemon the grit dust and grit gravel, Mikey? I've found that helps make them a lot more durable with fighting. Pokemon that haven't had their effort levels raised seem really easy to KO otherwise.

I like how Saturn, Candice, and Bertha are related. It's also funny that their ancestors names are based off of money and luck.
The voice acting in this playthrough is a chef's kiss especially with Kleavors warden 😙👌
I love the new Lilligant design! It's so elegant but fierce.
While others immidiately got to the end (or uploaded their recordings of the end) Mikey here is still on the second part and I enjoy it. Cutting them off helps me with my fight against procastination and makes it so that everytime I finish a productive day, I am rewarded with the bearded pokemon boi
So I finished this game after 3 days of playing and I very much enjoyed it. I can't wait to see your reaction to the ending battle, depending on your choice

A team sky run would be great, I mean you are from the sky after all

At the beginning of the story I felt suspicious towards 2 characters: Beni and Volo. I was surprised at Beni, but Volo had me screaming “I KNEW IT. I KNEW IT FROM THE START!”

Charm is probably the ancestor of Agatha - not Bertha - because all of the Miss Fortune sisters use the signature Pokémon of their descendant: Clover - Abomasnow (Candice); Coin - Toxicroak (Saturn); Charm - Gengar (Agatha).
I feel your pain early in the game I lost the item to evolve scyther into kleavor and an alpha lickylicky snuck up on me and attacked me
Something of note in this game is that exp only accrues after the entire battle. If your pokemon faints during the battle, they don't get experience.
