- This video title isn’t clickbait - there is one useful word that you can add to your sentences to make them a bit more natural. It’s 좀, which comes from the word 조금 meaning “a little bit.” I talk about how you can add 좀 into your sentences to make them sound more natural, as well as how to do this with commands, questions, and even statements.

I think the sentence “I’m trying to make some sushi” versus “I’m trying to make sushi” is a really good comparison for how 좀 is used to soften a statement. It feels more natural to hear or say “I’m making some sushi” just like how it might be natural to hear “초밥 좀 만들어보고 있어요." I think it’ll be helpful for people to think of 좀 in that way and for people who might still be confused, just think of what words or sounds we use in english to soften a sentence. Just like how we use those words, Koreans use 좀. I hope this makes sense. Anyways, thank you for the video billy! I would love to see more videos like this

This video is definitely helpful! I’ve been curious about how to say “a little” and this video provided me with how to use 좀 in various instances!
Hello Mr.Billy im new to your lesson....glad to meet you....im still starting from the beginner section...your so cool..at teaching 😁❤
yes of course billy has his unique way of teaching which is really fun
This is something I’ve picked up relatively early in my Korean journey so I think it’s a very effective word to sound more native. I think if I picked it up with a basic understanding of the language, it probably means it’s a very common and simple (yet effective) linguistic tool.
Thanks for the helpful tip!
Thank you so much for this video. It's really helpful..🙂
Definitely very helpful!
감사합니다!
This should be interesting seeing if I can use this effectively.
thanks billy alot for the lesson and please make the next live streeem beginner
thank you :)
Korean way of thinking is almost the same as Uzbek, wow!
Greetings from Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
2:22 Does the adverb 좀 have to be used as "좀만" for such a sentence as "좀만 기다려 주세요"? What about just as "좀 기다려 주세요"? Would that be okay?
That's just 좀 + 만 ("only") for emphasis.
Just 좀 is fine too
not me spending the entire video trying to figure out if you were writing backwards behind glass or it’s like computer generated writing or what..

@@GoBillyKorean what!!! Woah that’s awesome thanks so much!!!
감사합니다. 영어 "a bit"이나 "some"하고 "좀"이 좀 비슷하게 사용된 것 같아요.
Billy really went "clickbait? I don't know her"
This really helps!!!! ✏️👨💻👩💼
With english using like as a filler can be seen as speaking less properly/colloquially, is it the same with 좀?
Too much, and yes.
I don't know if my memory is correct but I would sometimes hear 좀 as "quiet down" or "shut up" in dramas in scenarios where they want the person to stop telling on them or they're getting shy cuz of the compliments. Am I right?
That's when it's shouted out, and yes it can have a couple of other meanings that way.
좀 닥쳐! -> 좀!
(command) Shut up!
조용히 좀 해! or -> 좀!
(command) Be quiet!
In this context, "좀!"(pronounced 쫌!) can be nuanced to short a command that is necessary in the situation. + It is 반말.
Nice Video! Thx
Can we also use 좀 like we'd say "huh" or "mmmh" ?
It's not that kind of filler word, since it actually does have a meaning.
스트레스를 받으면 좀 쉬세요 ~

제발 좀 그러지마!
감사합니다!
