    Great review. I own this cockpit, and personally have a slight difference of opinion when it comes to ergonomics and comfort. Looking at the seat in pictures and even in person it does not look as comfortable as it actually is. However, IMO, it is one of the best things about this cockpit. I find it comfortable and very supportive. I am 5'11" and 180 lbs, and was able to find a perfect seating position for my liking. (BTW..only race in GT). The shifter mount was also perfect for me, but I can see with the lack of up and down that some may not get it exactly to their liking. I also have the pedals in lower GT position connected to the front plate, and find that when in that position they have more flex than what I would like. The thing about cockpits, is they always fit each person a little differently. I would like to add that I have contacted NLR about the flex in the pedal plate, and they are very responsive.

      @@a.c5253 I have one and I use it almost solely in Formula seating, I flipped the pedal plate to make my pedals hang as well with an anti-fatigue pad on the ground to add some cushion. Next I hung the shifter arm off the standing arms for the wheelbase to raise the height of my shifter and E-brake, allowing me to angle them both about 20 degrees towards me and making them very easy to reach without having to move my hand far from the wheel. Next I'm ordering a more comfortable chair and mounting it to the existing rails on the rig, I'm assuming I will have to drill some holes to make it work but I'm looking forward to the upgrade. I've only had mine for about 10 months and looking back i may have gone with something different, but the adjustability has allowed me to really customize how I have it built so I quite enjoy the overall purchase.

    Got this rig and I can tell if you are above 6 ft 3 or above 200 lbs this is not your rig. The review is professional but this guy seems to a bit heavier than 200 lbs (true?) and shows that you are cramped into this rig. I am the "skinny" guy (5 ft 10 / 1.81cm 165 lbs / 75kg's - the perfect F1 racer :-) and this fits like a glove. Also tested the playseat Revolution and this like sitting high up compared to this F1 setting.

    I got it, its not best and not worst. I hate the seat, and i dont find any issues with gearbox, and since you use thrustmaster u can mount it bit different so it wont be so close to wheel mount. I think it is possible now to find a better, more stiff, and more upgrade options for that price, but if u are willing to give up Formula position. I've owned this exact rig for two years and it hasn't really held up. The pedal deck is flimsy, the wheel deck is even flimsier with a lot of play, no matter how much I tighten it. The rod holding up the wheeldeck is kind of annoying because there's a literal rod sticking up between my legs, but it's bearable. Also, they handled the office chair compatibility horribly: the seat legs detach under use, which is super annoying, especially in the middle of an online race. However, for the price, it's a decent starter rig. Just don't expect it to hold up to something like a CSL elite.

  • @fullhousegaming193
    @fullhousegaming193 6 лет назад +1

    Great review as always! I like all the adjustability in the rig, and the sliding wheel mount is a very nice thing to have. Looks like it would be tricky to get in and out of, but that’s par for the course I am guessing. How well do you think a rig like that would accommodate someone taller like I am (6’5)? Also, I can guarantee I would bash my knuckles at least once using the shifter when it’s that close to the wheel mount.

    • @Simracingpaddock
      @Simracingpaddock  6 лет назад +3

      I think for someone of your height, it would be a lot easier for you. Since I'm on the shorter side, it means I have to have everything closer. Since you can move everything further away, you'd likely get a little more adjustability, and it may be even easier for you to use the shifter (possibly, can't make any promises).

    • @fullhousegaming193
      @fullhousegaming193 6 лет назад +1

      Ok, thanks for the info! Not that I’m in any position to buy one of these right now, but it’s good to know I would at least fit! I do have a bit of a bad back, so the pillow would likely become crucial.

  • @Neil3D
    @Neil3D 4 года назад

    This is terrible if you plan on using the Fanatec clubsport shifter, the shifter is basically a full out-stretched arms length from you which is massively unrealistic, hugely uncomfortable and makes you not want to drive any H pattern cars. There's nothing you can do to bring the shifter any closer to you either. I'd say this is a pretty significant point as it makes an entire class and generation of cars borderline un-drivable.

    • @Simracingpaddock
      @Simracingpaddock  5 лет назад +3

      In my opinion, the ones built out of Aluminum Extrusion (sometimes referred to as "80/20 Cockpits") tend to be the best quality. You can either go the DIY route, with a custom design (see The SimPit's video for an example), or buy a pre-designed setup from a company (Sim-Lab, JCL Sim Racing, 4Play Racing are some examples). They tend to be the sturdiest designs and can be incredibly adjustable.
      Hope this helps!

    You say that you noticed some flex until you tightened it like that's a nuisance of some sorts... It's a little weird you would even include that statement in the review, when it sounds like it was your own fault. So when you then go on to say that it actually took you half an hour to convert the setup instead of the 10 minutes they claim, it of course makes it seem more like you're being clumsy than them mislabeling it.
