I'm watching from the midwest and it's kind of frustrating because the big box stores here have a tiny fraction of what is in your stores.
Yes this is true for me in Texas too!
Me too 😔 I hope these box stores get more exciting plants in soon here in the Midwest!
Same in Oregon and usually all dying due to kept near cold drafty doors.
Saaaaaame! I'm in Indiana, and our HD sucks right now. I want a Mican sooo bad. My next wishlist plant.
Hopefully they get some good options soon. ❤️
You are my favorite plant lady! No irritating nervous laugh, and you don’t label plants as boring or ugly just because you already have them or don’t like them. Also thank you for not using sailor language, a beautiful lady.
Thanks for the kind words
Peperomia obtusifolia marble!
I just found your channel and I just wanted to tell you I am so happy with your style of video. I'm very new in my crazy plant lady journey and really appreciate you calling everything by name as you go through and point them out. Thank you for a great video 😁
Awesome! Thank you!
I must be old because those prices give me sticker shock! My houseplants are old too! Most of them propagated free from friends. Sharing is caring!
I live in North Carolina, and found a 8in huge hanging basket of Philodendron Micans at Food Lion!!!! In the little plant section in the produce section. I was so surprised 😂
Randy, I've also found some really good plant bargains at Food Lion as well! I picked up a beautiful, bushy 8" Philodendron Brazil and an equally gorgeous Neon Pothos, both in hanging baskets, last spring for $11.95 each. Food Lion gets its plants from Consolidated Nurseries in Miami. Ashley, if you're ever in a Food Lion near you, check out their small plant section. You may make an unexpected find there! 😊👍
Same!! I probably have at least eight gorgeous plants from Food Lion
Wow!!!! That is incredible!
I found Pink Princess at a Walmart in Kansas. $24.
Wow!!
Wow nice I paid 100 for mine good find
That Philodendron Micans plant for 4.99 is for sure a steal!❤❤❤ I got a much smaller one for €3.99. I hope mine will grow and become lush and full soon.
Thanks so mentioning the orchid, would love if you'd show them more often with the prices, fun watching your videos!!!!
Oh I would have snatched up that agleonema with the silvery leafs and white stems!
This is making me desperate to go plant shopping 😂😂
So many good choices in our area!
I recently lost my younger brother and it has been devastating for me but, the plants have save me from depression. Those sad days I keep myself busy with my garden and my indoor plants. Plants are the best companion and cure. I love your videos and plants 😊
Sending hugs 💚💚
Here in Oregon, we have nothing like what you are finding on the East Coast. Not even a smidgen
Oh no! Hopefully some good plants show up soon. :)
After watching a number of videos like this, I have to say that the "big box stores" where I live in So. Cal do not have the same level of selections and availability in indoor plants. They are one fourth the size that you and other's have shown in other parts of the country and if you want to find any of the rarer species and varieties... good luck. Be prepared to pay exorbitant prices elsewhere or not find them at all. Many out of state nurseries/sellers will not ship to Cali because of our regulations, so you have to find someone locally.
Hopefully they get some good stuff soon. 🤞
Wow!! Is that why we don't get the great variety other states get?? I've wondered about that. I, too, am from Southern Cali and I agree with you in our selections out here 😕
I bought one of those exact same micans at a lowes here in Arizona! I've never seen one before and loved the velvety leaves. I actually bought a Pink Princess Philodendron also! (I think it was the same kind you showed off in your one of your previous videos) But I found it at walmart. $25 for a plant that I've seen single unrooted nodes of go for double that seemed like a steal. I just hope I can keep it alive and healthy. We bought a gallon planter of elephant bush about a year or two ago and that thing has grown massive in our yard. Full sun in the desert of Arizona and it's doing great.
Wonderful!
I'm green with envy at all the raven ZZs in your area. I was surprised to find a P. brandtianum and a H. selby at my Lowes though, so there's some hope. I definitely see taking care of plants as a form of therapy, it's helped me get through grad school and it's how I wind down my day after work.
Those are great finds! Yes, agreed. It's totally therapy for me too.
That’s a marble peperomia obtusifolia . I have one. I like the variegation a lot.
Beautiful!
Awww I want to go shopping over there, I'm watching from New Zealand crying my salty years 😭😂 we have nothing like that range over here. I feel like we're years behind you guys when it comes to houseplants! Please tell me you got that ponytail palm?!? 💚
Just starting on my house plant adventure so appreciate you're naming the plants. Only lately beginning to like variegated plants (indoors and outdoors) so I would have purchased the variegated (marble) peperomia.
perfect timing!! gorgeous plants and so much fun “shopping with you”💗😄
Yay! Thank you!
The Lowe's has their music way too loud😮 alot of businesses do it now, like it's happy hour or something, lol😉💚🌱 Wow you're making me want to go plant shopping🤗🌱💚
💚💚💚
Headed out to find the $4 micans!
Hope you found some good stuff!
It’s really nice to hear which of these are easy care. I always wonder!!
Happy to share!
I’m in Kansas and of course I haven’t found any of the plants that you’ve been able to find. I’m so jealous!
Big box stores are getting much better than a couple years ago. Just a hit and miss in Kansas. Spring will get better. 👍
Hopefully they get some good options soon!
Spent over 200 today at Home depot, they have stepped their game up ☺️💚🪴
Hope you found some good stuff!
Hi! The elephant bush in the hanging baskets do well outside. I have a hard time with them in my house, but outside, they are thriving and growing like crazy. Even in full sun here in Arizona!
Thanks for the tips!
I love when you go to the big box shops. I could just watch you all day. Definitely want the monstera albo. Not sure if my Walmart has them. You bring us joy!
Thanks for watching!
Oh. I can never find that homalomena here in Southern-Finland. I love-love-love that foliage.
Super pretty!
Thanks for the video. The other day I was at HD and I saw the most impressive neon photos. It is was so gorgeous it almost looked like it glow in the dark. I regret not buying it because it is gone, and it’s been living rent free on my mind since then. 😂😢
Wow! I can only imagine!
For that great price I would have gotten two Micans, great find 🌱
💚💚
I am in York County SC, there is really a difference! Time to head back to my big boxes in S. Charlotte for the better selections. My favorite all time random find was a geogenanthus in a Rock Hill Walmart last summer. Great channel "neighbor"
I found a purple pleasure plant at WalMart and it is a beautiful plant!
Wonderful!
Love your channel. I wish I was able to find rares at my local big box stores. I just found a red sun philodendron in northern New Jersey Home Depot
I just started pilea I have : silver cloud, baby's tears, dark mystery (lizard tails), and a mystery pilea. I love them, easy stuff
ooo lovely choices!
Thank you rewatching a silly movie tonight Little Shop of Horrors, just got back from 80 For Brady. Good movie, great to see the fun filled cast
My neighbor gave me two cuttings of her elephant bush 3 years ago. I completely ignored them after potting them up and left them in a shady but bright spot outside. They are now very large and thriving. They hardly ever get watered. I’ve had them in shade and sunny spots over the years. Nothing fazes them. I’m in Florida so maybe they like humidity.
Thank you for the tips Debbie!
Elephant bush is great! I got one at the grocery store and it grew so much that I propagated it and have now 12 plants! And they keep on giving, I constantly give out cuttings to people! As long as they have sun or good light, they will thrive.
I LOVE your videos!! I AM SO BUMMED ..... my walmart has practically nothing for plants. I think a lot of us in the northeast still don't have the amazing new stuff I see in videos on here.
You got that right Trisha I feel your pain here in PA
Hopefully soon ❤️
I'm in Canada so it's pretty cold right now. But my Walmart will have 1 plant order come in and have at least a few really neat things. But then they don't order more for Months, there will be like 3 plants on a shelf slowly dying, that's it.
That little variegated aralia will turn into a gorgeous tree if you good take care of it. I Love them!
Beautiful!
I re-categorized my plants and the amount of times I types "Toxic to pets" baffles me. Sure, my hanging plants I knew the pothos and philodendron weren't good, but majority of my indoor plants are and my cat is obsessed with sniffing them. I think he's learned, and I have a dog x-pen blocking them off, but I might need to rehome some...
That was such a cute ponytail palm in the blue pot. Do you ever come across Philodendron Atom or Super Atom? It might be a good fit for me. Would like to see what they 'really' look like in stores 😉 Thanks for all the fun videos.
Yes I have! Not at big box shops, but at specialty nurseries. They are cute!
I would have gotten that ponytail palm! It was amazing!!! And they are so easy to care for! I have 6 of them and they are my favorite plant.
It was soooo beautiful and massive!
Love your content ❤🌿🌻
I went to Walmart and Lowes last week and had so much luck! At Walmart I was able to find a begonia maculata that was HUGE! And at Lowe’s I found a Philodendron brandtianum. I’m in CA and we never get plants like this!
I live in northern cali and I never see all the plants that she sees. I did find 2 pink lady philadendron at Walmart and of course they looked bad but I got them anyway. Later seeing I could have got a better condition plant on etsy. I have not given up hope that the plants in her area will eventually make its way to ours but I'm sure will cost more.
@@4bnfree hey! I’m in Northern California too! I went to another Walmart yesterday and they had more of the trending tropicals plants as well. I know it’s not everything that she always has in her videos, but hopefully we get more soon!
@@alexandriaannealcantara2093 i live in vacaville and broke down an ordered a brandi from etsy
@@4bnfree oh not too far from me! I’m in Sacramento
@@alexandriaannealcantara2093 I use to buy a lot of plants from offer up in sac. Now the plant has to be worth the gas and the time. I have not tried the superwalmart in Dixon or Davis yet but I might make a field trip
That brandiatum is on my wishlist!
You should go back to Trader Joe’s Metropolitan. Great plants and prices
Thanks for the tip!
You just reminded me to get a new Micans. Oh what a cute furry personality in the background at your place. So cute.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for pointing out the pet toxicity of the sego!
New subscriber here and loving the content! I used to work at Lowes in the Outside lawn and garden and it started my plant fascination, thank you for the video, looking forward to more.
That is awesome!
Beautiful plants. Can't wait to get my hands on some of them. Is it just me or do others like to buy the little plants, nurture them and watch them grow?
Absolutely! It's so rewarding. :)
Love your plant shopping videos, you find the best plants, I also found the variegated standleyana at WalMart, I was shocked, keep up the good work.!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Nice micans. Last month I saw whale fin sansevaria at HD. I also have not been sleeping well so might try out Aura.
Wow! That is a great find. I’m obsessed with the Aura app. I literally use it every day. I hope it helps!! ❤️
Hi Ashley, enjoyed this video so much! Loved the Micans you picked up and what a great deal. Good for you. Happy growing! 👌🪴🥰
Thank you! You too!
always love your videos...thank you.
You are so welcome!
Matthews Lowe’s is in need of a shipment! Albemarle Lowes told me after March 1, they get shipments every 2 weeks!
Wow!
All gorgeous .
Hope you go back to Big Bloomers soon. I need a greenhouse stroll. You still need that peperomia kimnachi too😆
Yes I do!
Just this week, I found an Alocasia pink dragon at Walmart and a huge Alocasia sarian at Home Depot. I can't believe it...our big box stores here in northeast Ohio normally have dismal selections this time of year! And they were inexpensive, both under $20!
That is awesome!
You have to treat elephant bush (portaligaria afra) like a succulent. They grow in Africa and elephants eat them. They are easy and beautiful. You can even put the leaves in your salad if you grow them in clean soil so you know that no toxic stuff is in the medium. Like grow them in organic vegetable soil. They are citrus like taste.
Wow! That is so interesting!
Thank you for these videos! It helps me figure out what plants i want and what to look out for before actually going to the store🙏🏽
I'm so glad!
I remember the Monstera Standleyana was my first “rare” plant I had gotten. Purchased mine online 2 years ago at $90 bucks. Seeing them out now in big box stores for a cheaper price and large leaves is amazing. Hopefully I run into one soon🤞🏽
That is awesome!
Ok Ash I’m with you on the elephant bush and I have been collecting house plants for 20 years, I don’t kill it but it drops leaves like crazy, and I just can’t handle that nonsense 😂
Glad it’s not just me!
Awesome video thanks for the update
No problem 👍
What a beautiful shop 😍🌺
It was!
You are inspiring
Hello Ashley , your beautiful Schismatoglottis made me to buy as well, not that big and lush but still beautiful really beautiful plant
It’s a stunner!
Tops Ashley, about to make a trip to Home Depot today.
Hope you found some good plants!
I also got a philodendron micans from Home Depot it’s gorgeous
Great find!
Wow beautiful video🌹🌹
Thank you so much
Beautiful price beautiful plant thank u for 😍sharing
Thank you!
Hi Ashley, I found a pink princess at Lowes today 20.00 and there was a white wizard but I didn't get it
I hope I can find a micans at home depot!
I believe moon cactus babies will actually die if you take them off and try to plant them in the ground. That's why they need to be grafted onto the green plant, cause they don't create their own chlorophyll. It's like a beautiful looking parasitic relationship. Lol
Came here to say this, but you said it better I ever could! 💗
Interesting! Maybe it depends on the variety? I have some that are growing in soil, but didn’t know that others are not able to.
I would have picked up the Hoya Burtonae!!!
Great plant!
Oakdales has huge Hoya Pubera baskets now.
Ooo thanks for the tip!!
I have 3 diff aralia. Balfouriana, gold crest false, an olympia false. They are pretty an mine have grown at nice rate!
Beautiful!
I have a sun red that has a new leaf right now which is a beautiful vibrant red color.
Oooo stunning!
I'm with you on the elephant bush. I had one that looked like a little tree. It was so cute. But i could *never* figure out what it wanted. More water? Less water? What do you want? I gave it to my mom. I'm not even sure if she still has it. Oh, in those little 2" succulents I have found very small sansevieria boncels (starfish sans). I'm always looking for them now.
Haha I’m glad it’s not just me!
Hi enjoy all the informative content. Can you please tell me the plant that you showed that is part of the African Violet family. Thank you so much
Thanks! It's an Episcia I believe
Great video! I have a question if anyone can answer though at 39:50 after the raven zz what is that plant?! I absolutely adore it!
The indoor plant section at my big box stores are tiny!
Hopefully they get some good plants for you this year!
Wow
Great haul!
Thank you! 😊
mine cutting micans was dark bronze/brown , till i planted it change to green, not mine cup of tea, lol , prefer the bronze look
Hi! I’m a new subscriber. Love your channel! I’m going to be binge watching!😄 Question... my mom is allergic to plant soil. Could you do a video on the plants that would grow well in water? And which ones I could buy and take them out of the soil and transfer to water? Thanks!😊
I’m not on Telegram. Could I contact you on Instagram?
Any news from Wilmington about these awesome plants
I need to go to YOUR big box stores. Ours drown them as soon as they get them. The half dead plants sit there for months until they decide to trash them. I order from Etsy.
Pink Princess at some HEB’s in Texas!
Woo hoo!!
Are you located in a warmer location? I didn’t notice any snow. If I went out to buy a plant today it would probably die on the way out to my car because it’s 8 degrees where I live today in Utah. 🥶
Yes, I live in Charlotte, NC!
You can't pull those baby cactus an plant them in soil, they'll die. They need to be grafted. There is a reason why you never see them planted on their own.
Good to know!
I get dieffenbachia and aglaonemia mixed up too.
Maybe I'll check my big boxes in Nashville. I usually just buy on line because there's nothing here.
Hope you found some good stuff!
Iove your channel
Thank you!
Krohniana Hoy but there's a debate at the moment which is the correct name. 🤣
Lacunosa snow caps, or super silver Hoy and the
dark is Lacunosa black leaf Hoy🥂$14.98 Home Depot, Springfield Missouri.
💚💚
💚
Hi from union county nc not far from Charlotte
great video !! i reall wonder what's in the box that says large elephant ear at 15:28 are they bulbs?
Yes, bulbs!
Ughhh. I’ve been looking all over and everything around me has GARBAGE! Like even if there is a good plant they are full of disease and pests. I’m in Wisconsin so it’s probably the weather. But at aldis today I found the cutest variegated string of buttons for 4 dollars. So that was my excitement plant wise lol
Ahhh great find!!
@@LifewithAshleyAnita awe thank you! I don’t do great with succulents so I’m hoping I don’t kill it. If you or anyone has any tips let me know. The only thing I’ve learned so far is that they are winter growers so I thin k that means I have to water/fertilizer more in the winter? Idk I’m scared haha
Yeah same here in northern Illinois! Hoping to see some fun new stuff next month though.
It’s probably their real prices, I heard plants price were raise during pandemic
I desperately want another Micans. Which Home Depot did you find the $4.98 pots?
Still nothing here in Eastman Georgia!!!! It’s so disappointing 😢😢😢 I’m so tired of checking Walmart’s
Oh no!
All of our big box shop plants are trashy in Dallas
