01:08 Yeah, in Europe and the U.K. you can go out and buy these. Trouble is that the supply is still fairly limited. Literally as soon as they’re put on shelves in newsagents, supermarkets and anywhere else that sells newspapers and magazines, they’re gone. Especially in the case of 212th troopers or any other army buildable figure that the Lego Magazines have released (501st, Snowtroopers, Mandalorian Warriors etc). Because most know they’re worth getting even at the cost of £4.50 each, so people just hoard them. Usually it’s easier to find them online that it is in stores but by then you’re paying a marked up price, because- well, capitalism! 🤔🤷
It’s always nice to come back and see that the original clone army Lego RUclipsr is still giving it his all. Love you David, thanks for keeping all our childhood dreams alive.

Fun fact: if you get about twice as many clones than you have here, you would technically have about the entire 212th Attack battalion. As a Battalion of clones amounts to about 576 troopers. Though I am unsure how accurate a lot of these numbers are according to canon anyways. Even IF the numbers ARE canon... Like, if we ever see more than 576 212th clones, the explanation for why this would be the case is literally that the rest are from the identically looking, 36'864 soldier strong, 7th sky corps, where the 212th is a sub-unit within.
I live in the U.K. and love the Lego magazine for the minifigs and builds that come with it! I have to say this particular issue has been really hard to get hold of! I've six issues & those 212 clone troopers will go nicely with my AT-TE troopers!
the magazine with the 212th clone is on sale till 8th April here in the UK, unfortunately you can never find them on shelves as all the hawkers are snapping them all up, April's magazine comes with a mini x-wing build, the ob1 kenobi figure is out in the may edition.
even tho this is great for army building I truly hope some shops put a limit on how many you can buy at a time for these. I've been looking for months now to get a single one but everywhere you go they’re gone
I think lego has realized the fomo they likely accidentally cultivated in the community will kill off their adult fan base if they don’t end it. What I mean by that is this: when we were kids, we could get all the clone troopers we could afford, but we were kids so what we could afford is limited. As we grew up and into high school, the sequels came out, and for years the sets were based on the new movies with one or two prequel era sets per wave sprinkled in. These sets were pretty good, but they were few and far between. Some folks might’ve tried holding off on sets to see what was coming in the next wave only to miss out on the sets while they were on shelves and find that the new wave had no sets with clones. I think initially this wasn’t intentional, but I think lego quickly found that when they did release a set with clones, suddenly it sold a lot of copies, far more than would have sold if there had been enough variety of clones on the market. A clone troopers and Jedi battle pack sold lots and lots of copies because while it wasn’t a great battle pack, how else were we going to get those clones for $7.50 each or less? And many didn’t want to miss out after skipping the republic fighter tank, which quickly soared in price. Then lego released a battle pack for $30. Maybe this was because they wanted to include both vehicles and had room in that price slot. Maybe. But they also probably knew they’d make 2x as much money because each sale was equivalent to two battle pack sales, and they knew we’d buy it because we didn’t want to look back and regret not buying it, the way many of us do with many past sets. Why do I say this? I think that’s ending. That way of buying lego is exhausting and makes the hobby much less fun. What’s more fun is buying sets because you want them, not because you don’t want to regret not buying them. Remember how we all thought the 332nd trooper would only come in a tank set many people didn’t like, so people bought multiples of that set anyway? And now we’re getting a $25 with three of them plus Captain Vaughn! I remember wanting buy up more 501st battle packs than I already had(which was more than enough for me) because once it’s retired, it’s retired, and then I found out about the specialists battle pack. I think lego is seeing what people want and trying to make and keep it available. I dont know how long this will last, but I say this because I would be surprised if lego didn’t come out with a smaller set on a wide release next year with 212th attack battalion troopers. They might not do the same with shock troopers, because they’re so specialized, and the 187th already come in a fairly accessible set, but I think we will see these 212th clones again. Also, I’d like to note how these figure dense sets are so much better for kids to play with. As a kid, I chose not to buy a republic gunship when I could afford it because I couldn’t afford to also get a battle pack, and without that I wouldn’t have enough clones to fully man the gunship, much less deploy troops(in which case, what is the point?) but in the atte, you get a battle pack’s worth of troopers plus Cody and three battle droids and a dwarf spider droid. In the new fighter tank you get a Jedi, three clones and two droids. In the supposed upcoming gunship, you get two clones with it, who admittedly will probably be pilots, but they’re clones people want. I think it’s just a massively positive trend.
The sad reality is though, when ever I go to the stores (any of them in my area) the magazines are sold out or if they do have the magazine, the poly bag is either missing or has been opened and the minifig has been stolen. Yes, this is a great army builder, but as it is so sort after, it's sad to see people buying all of them at once (last month was Bo Katan and this one guy bought 5 of the magazine, leaving only 2) and people even stealing it... Even though I live in the UK, I don't think I'll be able to get one...
Lego shouldn't change that magazine thing in the future. They should sell the figs on bricks and pieces to negate all the paper waste from MANY magazines that won't be touched at all
I live in Germany and you actually have to be very fast with buying these as they sell out very fast and since you are only buying them for the figure the hole magazine usally goes to waste. Another downside is that they dont always come with a fig but sometimes with a build and most of the figures are figures you can get in cheap sets. Of course it would be nice if everybody had the chance to get thes magazins!
