Just updated the parts list and instructions to replace those old 8x4 wedges in white and dark blue with a couple more modern parts! At the time, the one older part was cheaper than the couple newer ones, but so many people built dropships that it became practically unobtanium!
That new Dropship model looks like something Lego themselves would release themselves with how polished it is. Good to have a modern alternative for the single coolest Clone Wars vehicle without needing to drop a mortgage payment for the original model.
At the time of releasing this video, I went through a bunch of Bricklink stores to find the optimal cost for all of these parts which came out to $149, $167 incl. shipping (Didn't include 2x2 printed republic insignia plate, since they're $5 each and I have a billion of them). In this day and age, that's awesome. This build was always out of reach for me and none of the mocs were just not quite what I wanted. We'll see if the price gets annihilated after the release of this video, but I'm getting it now.
This is awesome to see you highlight a MOC build. I know this is going to be great for Forged, but I just love seeing the best MOCs being featured because many times they get buried online and need to be brought to the surface for others to see
@@Kubaresku Sorry I tried to look but it seems bricklink purges older orders from your history so can't see exactly. It would be a bit different anyway as I colour swapped the dark blue and red for Dark purple as it is for my 187th troopers. From memory I think it was around £150.
Thanks for the fantastic review of the custom build. As someone who is fortunate enough to own the official dropship, I cannot overstate how fragile the pickup mechanism is. Really requires two hands to attach the walker and by the time you are done, you never want to drop it to go through it again. It's a really cool display piece but that's it. Really excited to build this custom dropship.
So happy to see Forged in Lego getting more recognition for his amazing work. His mod of the Venator to make opening and closing top bay doors is awesome. I’m definitely adding this MOC and the Lego AT-TE to my wish list. Thanks for the awesome review of this custom model-Forged in Lego is the GOAT!
I built this MOC last year. It’s extremely fun to play with because of how easy it picks up the AT-TE. Also, it withstands being handled roughly by a 8 year old after an entire year!
I've got this dropship and it's great. It's a bit finicky during the build, but once it's complete, it's solid as a rock. I even let my 8 year old play with it, and I don't have to worry
Bloody Hell!!! The price of it went so high up over the years! I still remember the Winter 2015/16 and the cheapest New&Sealed set could be bought for "only" £400 + P&P. It's just under 530 USD with today's rate of exchange. So the price has basically quadrupled since then. 😲 😲
I wanted to describe how awesome it looks and be very poetic about it 😂 but you’re right, the best and only suitable word is magical 😂. What a masterpiece. I’m stunned
I went to my local Bricks and Minifigs and pieced out this set. Took 6 months and was able to display it for May the forth 2024 for that BAM’s display.
I think i found my next project to work on. This thing looks amazing! I work at Bricks and Minifigs. Im sure i can scrounge up the parts and maybe color swap. My AT-TE needs it.
Ah, my all time favorite set. It was actually the last set I got before I went into my "dark ages". Nostalgia aside, this custom model is leaps and bounds better than the original.
Edit: Ok its a day later and it took about 3 hours of carefully trying to take this thing apart enough to get to the gears without taking it apart too much. And i did get to the gears and fixed them and now this thing works perfectly. However my complaint/warning regarding the instructions still stands, this thing has some very confusing instructions, especially for the gear functions. If you build this thing yourself, I recommend looking up as many extra photos and videos as you can to prevent the mistake both me and my friend made and have the gears in the wrong position all the way until you finish the model. Also valid critisms: small pieces still fall off mine. Im going to break out the super glue which kinda makes me sad, but i never really planned to take this thing back apart anyway but still. Also several chunks of the instructions should have been re-arranged better as it would have made several bits much more coherent and stable while building.
As a kid I got the original lego drop ship. my parents bought it for my birthday it git destroyed 2 times during playtime with my friends I rebuild it every time endet up selling it for 550€ after 3 years because it was to much money to not take at the time great set worked with the AT-Te that was available at the time
We need to see more custom reviews from you!!! I love seeing them and the amount of detail you go into is awesome. As a request it would be cool to see you review some of the larger ones on BrickVault like the Sand Crawler.
Excellent design by Forged in Lego but I don’t think anyone will beat Bousker’s Dropship anytime soon. Bousker’s design absolutely blows anyone else’s out of the water, but I will say this version has great playability. Another thing going for Forge’s model is that it fits the esthetic of modern Lego Star Wars sets and it looks like it belongs with Lego’s AT-TE.
I built this over a year ago. Flimsy body and had to redesign. Mechanical mechanism is impressive. Works well with at te which I modded to display with drop ship on top.
That better be the Forged in LEGO dropship on the thumbnail. Edit: YAY! I bought the instructions for it a while ago I just don’t have the funds to get all the pieces. 😭😭
Solid brick studios have you ever bought a brick vault custom build cause they are just out of this world. You must try them out sometime. Also keep up the good work and can’t wait for the finale of geonosis
Thanks for highlighting this MOC! It looks amazing and I can’t wait to receive the parts to build it. Would love a Minifigs4U collab. Recently received the Venator replacement pad printed parts and couldn’t be happier. I will purchase any sticker replacements you can make available!
I feel like the secondary market has made some lego star wars so astronomically unobtainable that the hype has made essentially killed the joy of lego and turned basic sets into a great white whale😢
FINALLY!!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS I own this moc and I love it. I just wish there was a way of displaying it without the ATTE lol Currently, it leans backwards awkwardly
worst moment of my childhood. begged and pleaded my family for this set. grandpa gave my mom money to buy this for my birthday. my mom took the money to buy drugs and told me to look like I was building it so she could send him a picture. missed out on the greatest set of all time because of pills. don't do drugs.
that dropship set was avalible up until like 2014 at big w in australia, legit one of their busiest stores in my couldn't clear it from the shelves for years. sadly i was too poor to be the one to buy it back then
I’m going to see how many of these pieces I have. They will undoubtedly be the wrong color but I’m going to use what I have I find a way to source the other pieces
I have the original dropship (sold in a few actual shops in Australia btw! Mine was from Kmart) and it's frankly a rickety POS. Mildly tempted to swap out for this one, I wonder how many of the parts are interchangeable...

@SolidBrixStudios Hi, how are you? It's about the 15$ credit that you are giving. Is it shipping fee free for your stream on whatnot or anyone's?

❤❤❤❤❤ THANK YOU
You’re awesome!
Finally happy seeing you get some love and seeing people recognize your awesome MOCs. hope to see more from you in the future!
13:38 it’s amazing listening to him geek out like a kid, I absolutely love this!!
Forged in Lego is a GOAT. Love his MOCs and custom made ships.
He’s got one of the best mechanism-building minds I’ve ever seen.

I recently got to see the original set up close at bricks and minifigs, it was awesome to play with a set so valuable and expensive.
I wanna play with it!

I've built this myself. It is awesome and the mechanism just works. Glad to see it get some recognition!
How much did you pay?

Got to see the custom one last year at a brick con and it’s been on my build list ever since
I built this at the beginning of the year and it’s better than anything Lego will ever make. Goes great with the 2022 atte

BROOOO!!! The way ur camera moves in the time laps is whole other lvl of quality. Amazing! Really appreciate these vids, keep it up.
This might be the best custom build ever
The updated style looks incredible.
I have his animated gunship and I´m in total love with it.
Forever solidifying yourself as the best LEGO channel. Fantastic video, and an immaculate MOC!
LMAO. You had way too much fun swinging the drop ship around. Definitely have to get the instructions for this one.

It looks amazing! And the ability of it to work with some many different generations is 👌
Man, I really underestimated Forged in Lego’s version. Now I definitely am gonna have to get the instructions for it.
Damn, I built this model in late 2023 and I’m so glad it’s been given more attention
I’ve modded mine to perfection 😘

I think it's awesome, the lego star wars community comes up with really neat custom sets
I feel like without the ATTE the drop ship looks incomplete, but when the ATTE is on the ship it looks right.
Eventually I’ll have this MOC on my shelf.

You should post an epic reveal video of Geonosis (like you did with Daro), then post the finale! It is looking so amazing!

Just plug it in to bricklink through rebrickable than click Buy All and Auto-select
Epic dropship update nice music 👍
I rebricked the 10195 Set for under 250
