I agree! The French seams were such a nice surprise!! I made a ton of pillowcases this way but never thought to use that technique for bag making! Such a great finish!!!!
It never occurred to me to sew these boxy bags with the French seam. I think it's great and must give it a go straight away! You have sewn a beautiful bag with wonderful fabric! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for your comment.😘💕💕🌹💐 If you decided to make a small version of the pouch and cut 4x4 square corners, it will change the finished size of the pouch. The length and width of the pouch will become smaller.😆😆
Hi! I am trying to sew a bigger pouch (like 20cm high x 30 cm wide but same depth). Should I just cut two pieces of fabric with these measurements? I hope I made myself clear. All the videos I could find realize deeper pouches, while I am trying to make one not that deep. Thanks!!💐
Hi😊 Thank you so much for your comment😘💕💕🌹💐 I apologize for the delayed response.🙇♀️ Regarding your question about which type of interfacing to buy for sewing, it depends on the sewing project.😄 Sometimes, I use medium-weight interfacing to provide stability to the front fabric. Sometimes, I use a hard interfacing on my sewing project when I want the interfacing to support the fabric and give shape to the finished product. I hope this helps.😊💖
Thank you so much for your questions😘💖💖🌹 Interfacing have fusible interfacing and non-fusible interfacing. The interfacing used in this video is a fusible interfacing. The fusible interfacing has glue on the back side. When ironing the fusible interfacing on the back of the front fabric, the glue causes the interfacing to adhere to the fabric😊🌈
Thank you so much for your question😘💖💖💐💐 I am not sure how to explain the size in words🙇♀️🙇♀️ In brief, the width of the pouch is determined by the width of the interfacing. In video, the width of the interfacing is 18cm and the square corner is 4cm. So the width of the pouch is: 18cm -2(4cm +2cm seam allowance)=6cm😊
If you take the shorter measurement of 22 centimeters, and divide it by the shorter measurement of 22, you get .769. This is the ratio between the measurements of the length and the width. You can decide how big you want your bag, lengthwise, and extrapolate the side measurement by multiplying the length by .769. You could then use that formula to make any size bag. I think that should work.
Thank you so much for your question😘💕💕💐 If you're making a pouch with dimensions of 13cm x 13cm x 6cm, you'll need to adjust the size of the fabric accordingly.😄 I would recommend using a 28cm x 21cm fabric for the front fabric and lining, and a 26cm x 19cm piece of interfacing. Additionally, I would recommend cutting the corners into squares measuring 4.5cm x 4.5cm.😊💖
Thank you so much for your comment😘💕💕💐💐 Yes, you can use other types of zippers as well. However, it's important to ensure that the total length of the zipper you choose is equal to the length of the front fabric.😊💖
I’ve made lots of zipper pouches and this is by far the best. I love how the French seams gives the bag more structure. Excellent tutorial 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words😘💖💖💐💐

Wonderful work!!! I love it! How to do if i want to put an interior pocket?
Adorable fabric! And love the french seams method--so much faster than binding or bagging the lining!
Thank you so much😘💖💖💐💐
And it gives the bag so much more structure than the traditional method 😊
Thanks for your tutorial. I never thought I would make this pouch. After watching you I’ve made 6 so far.
Thank you so much for your comment😘💕💕🌹🌈 I am so glad to hear that you have made six pouches after watching the tutorial😍💖

Putting the zipper head on after sewing!? Geniussssss
Thank you so much for your comment.😘💕💕🌹💐 I think that the zipper is easier to sew when it does not have a zipper slider attached.😆😄
감사해요
너무멋진 파우치가 만들어졌습니다
What type of interfacing did u use here?
Thank you so much for your comment😘💖💖💐 I used a woven interfacing that has a stiff hand feel.😊🌈
Can you help me out with the following...
If I want my pouch to be 16x16 x 6, what should be the size of the fabric?
Thank you for sharing this tutorial 💕. My question is/ for the small size shall I cut 4*4 square?
Thank you so much for your comment.😘💕💕🌹💐 If you decided to make a small version of the pouch and cut 4x4 square corners, it will change the finished size of the pouch. The length and width of the pouch will become smaller.😆😆
Confirmed.I did cut 4×4 for small size so the final box dimension is not good 😅 .Have to try new one with 3x3 cut
4군데 모서리 맞춰박는게 너무 힘들었는데 너무쉽고 깔끔하게 마무리할수있는 방법이네요~감사합니다👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much😘💖💖🌹🌈
so cute! where did you buy the checkered fabric?
Thank you so much for your kind words😘💖💖💐💐 I bought the fabric from an online market called Taobao.😊

Is interfacing the cloth that gets attached when ironed?

if I wanted to make a pouch that’s 21 cm high 25 cm long and 7 cm wide. How would I do that?
thank youuu .. if i want to make it in different sizes how can i calculate? for example i won’t it narrower 🙏

Me too! How?
Hii i've got a question. I love this design but i want to make one thats 13x13 cm. Do i just add 2 centimeters to the measurements or? ❤

Hi.
Can I make this without a continous zipper?🥰
Thank you so much for your comment😘💕💕💐💐 Yes, you can use other types of zippers as well. However, it's important to ensure that the total length of the zipper you choose is equal to the length of the front fabric.😊💖
Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you so much😘💖💖🌹🌈
Thanks for sharing. Hello, if i want to 11cm to 11cm, and the width is 3cm. What should be the fabric size ? Is it decrease 1 cm?
Thank you for the tutorial. Where did you get the strawberry material from?
Thank you so much for your comment😘💕💕🌹🌈 I bought the fabric from an online market called Taobao😊
سلام شكراً من الجزائر❤
Thank you so much😘💖💖🌹💐
Beautiful 👏👏👏🇵🇰
Thank you so much for your comments😍😘💕💕🌹
What is interfacing?
The interfacing is used to stiffen the front fabric. It give shape to the pouch and prevent the pouch become floppy😊💖
Can you share with me about brand and model of sewing machine?
The sewing machine is Janome HD-1000😊👍
Pena que eu não entendo nada das suas medidas
Thank you so much😘💖💖💖💖💖💐
