- Abandoned Marathon - Crossville, TN. Enjoy a quick look at this old gas station just off of I-40. Has seen better days. Was a Greyhound bus stop. Not sure if it still is today but as for being a gas station and convenience store... its still "temporarily closed for renovation".

I'm not surprised that Greyhound are now having their new bus stops at former gas stations next to a waffle house. Same situation in Columbus, Ohio. Greyhound closed their old bus terminal in Downtown Columbus and opened a bus depot at a former Shell gas station on Wilson Road south of I-70 on the far west side of Columbus. The city is currently trying to get that new bus depot on Wilson Road permanently shut down on account of crime and traffic issues at that location.
A guy got killed there a few months ago and a security guard just got attacked last week.

Used to stop there a lot during the 1,000 mile yard sale.
I lived in Crossville about 20yrs ago I have family there.At one time it was a very beautiful place to be.

A lot is changing in Crossville! I grew up there but since moved to Asheville NC I remember this place well!!! I didn't know they closed though and it did use to be those traditional colors not sure when that changed! Great video

Lol, so much for the remodel...
We went to buc ee's in crossville tn not too long ago when we were trying to go to Texas and we stayed at Paradise On the Mountain RV Park. We tried to leave the place but we realized that our motorhome automatic leveling jacks won't working so we had to stay at least for a few days until my dad got a tool to make the jacks go back up. Before that we called a mobile repair service but the person was a young guy that didn't know much about leveling jacks and he tried to fix it but it didn't work.
This video was a lot of laughs. (Crumbling sidewalk, somebody's pants..."free-willy style"😂)

There's several homeless people that hang out there from time to time. I've saw a man sleeping on the sidewalk in front of that building several times. Ive
lived here in Crossville for 51 years and have saw a lot of our smaller businesses shut down. I know we need progress to grow as a community but we have lost so much of our home town feeling along the way.

I drive past the place every day on my way to work. It was closed for remodeling after being purchased by a new owner. But during the process, the 7-11 across the street was built, and that ended the Marathon.

when i did the grand opening for bucees last year in crossville , I ate at that Waffle House and stayed at the red roof inn next door and shopped at this gas station lol , Being from New York City , this is so great 😀

I saw a closed Marathon that had the sign in the trash area but was in my Uber and couldn’t stop.
There is a possible reason for this weird green color. Some companies require not only removing the signage when a station closes, but also repainting to cover any trace of the corporate color scheme on the site. I think that is what happened here. They used this bile green because it’s as far from the Marathon color scheme as you can get. They just got lazy and blacked out the sign instead of removing it. Great video as always Wallie!
Closed down about a year ago. Buc-ee's ran it out of business. They changed ownership a 6 months or so before they closed down, and the new owner painted it green. The new owner remodeled the inside into a vape shop. Looks like they tore everything out and left.

93' it was called the Obed River Mart. I knew the owner. He was a great guy and a great cyclist.
They sold a lot of smokes too.

They are an abandoned country inn and suites in Orangeburg, South Carolina I think it looks closed.

According to the Tn Property Map, this property was last purchased April 16, 2020 for $850, 000 by Akshar Properties Inc. I live in Crossville, and there are businesses closing and opening all the time.

Dude, that place is a crackhead haven. It's been closed like that my whole life wish they would destroy and build something useful there and not another dollar general but knowing this dang town they probably will, but that waffle house is lit af especially late at night. If you're ever in town again, hit me up, and we can show you some better abandoned places.👍👍
