I never really had to think about how to get started on my path. My mom ran a Coven. I am her only child , so I grew up in the Coven. That means nothing other than I have a little more experience than others. I do not consider myself to be anything other than a "Mystic Monk" and as a Solitary Witch I am "Keeper of the Shrine". My boyfriend allowed me to take over one of two spare bedrooms in his house , and thus "Bird's Nest Shrine" was created. I am an eclectic witch with a very heavy duty emphasis embracing my own Native American Heritage. Definitely Western Mystery Tradition , but I have painstakingly researched into my Tribal Culture to fit recipes , myths , and folklore to fit a Wiccan framework. My boyfriend says I have created a "brand new Tradition" based on my Chickasaw heritage that he has labeled as "Chicka-Wicca". LoL My Book of Shadows is English alphabet but in Chickasaw language. My altar is a Tribal drum , I use an arrow as a wand. My cauldron , and Chalice are pottery made from clay found only on Tribal lands. I have created a cookbook of traditional food dishes to fit the Wheel of the Year. You give off a very calming serene vibration. Would love to talk more with you. I've always been attracted to nature and magic ever since I was a child. I am not a an overly religious person but my catholic upbringing makes me scared to pursue this, and I have been suppressing it for years. I feel confused in what I was taught was good and evil, and what I truly feel on the inside. Has anyone else struggled with this?

I totally hear you! The first step for me was throwing away the ideas of “good and evil.” It took a long time to unravel this belief. There are positive, negative, and neutral forces/energy but neither have good and bad moral undertones attached. They just are. The phrases “It is what it is” and “everything is everything” will start making a whole lot of sense after grasping this concept. There needs to be balance between positive and negative (yin and yang). In the eyes of the universe/god there is no judgement. Unconditional love reigns supreme.
Yes! I was brought up protestant but went to catholic schools. Basically everywhere I went, there was an authority figure telling me all the things I'm drawn to are wrong or evil. Even traits that i was born with! As an adult I have to do so much work to unlearn all these things and let go of feeling guilty. It's a long and confusing journey, and you have to figure out what is good and evil to you
As a Christian witch don’t believe what others tell you or the church. You have to do your own research and look at the history. Read about witchcraft in the Catholic Church and in Christianity. They hide a lot of things from the people. Witchcraft can be good or evil just like anything. I’ve definitely been there and the best thing to do is do your own research and do what feels best.

I'm trying to get into witchcraft, but I'm having a lot of issues with anxiety. I've tried a few times in the past to start exploring the community, but I always get scared off by terms like "ritual" or the idea of connecting with the spirit realm. I've heard a lot of creepy stories about demons and evil spirits and whatever else, so I think the fear of accidentally inviting those things into my life is what's keeping me from actually committing to starting my journey. Does anyone have any advice on this? And maybe some more insight into what goes on once you dive into witchcraft? I'm nervous that it's something more powerful than I can handle, or something that you can't pull away from if you decide you can't do it. I don't know much about all this, but I've been studying for a while. Don't be afraid😊 The spirit realm IS scary, but in my belief, it's where we come from and go to in the end of this life. I believe it's beautiful, just like Earth, but kinda different. It's a part of life. (If you believe in this) You have spirit guides, gaurdian angels, your ancestors, family, friends, God or higher power, even pets that have passed that have got your back!👍 You have yourself.🥰 Believe in those who are for you, and very importantly, in yourself!💜😁 Don't worry too much, and do what you can..! If you want to connect with it, but are afraid, you can do things to make sure you are protected, or just research about it👍 Before you do things, be confident you got this. And I believe you do! colleenallmyfriends that’s good! Try to look into your own heritage to find practices too. Using sage can often be appropriative if you’re using something not native to your ancestors. Common sage is a good alternative for things like white or blue sage

But the more I reflect on my life, especially with COVID, the more I realize that I’m searching for something. For a path to follow that I can create with some guidance from higher beings and a good community. And the more I realize how personalized this craft is and it really is about each person individually tailoring it to them, the more I realize how could I not feel welcome? The witches of old made do with what equipment they had, witchcraft is personal to you, and what feels right for you, create you own spells, your own rituals. Magic is not within your tools, its within you, the tools just help you focus your energy. If what your doing feels right for you then your doing it right.

I am german so i am kind of at the root of paganism since it originated from germany, but also the surrounding countrys. I just now started to look deeper into my actual cultur and I am very happy that i am so close to its core
Germanic paganism is so fascinating!! Do you study it? I grew up with indigenous american and african paganism but I've studied it from around the world. My dad brought so many interesting tidbits form around the world that I was so fascinated with learning about other pagan cultures as well. I love that paganism and earth based spirituality originated with the first people all around the world and that every culture has roots in it 💕

I love how all of us that are drawn to witchcraft are somehow connected to each other, despite the origins, the country, the culture, we all share a similar energy and love for nature. Its like a big family that slowely starts to get in touch with each other again, stronger than ever. I took a lot of time into researching and connecting with my roots, mostly germanic, celtic and nordic paganism, traditions, rituals etc. I am so grateful that chanels like yours exist Indigenous american and african paganism ist amazing and so rich in its culture and history, I cant wait to learn everything about it

Also was mir sehr geholfen hat und mir einen Orientierungspunkt gegeben hat, war in die Geschichte des Paganismus, des Heidentums, Schamanismus, Druidentum etc der Germanen und Kelten zu schauen. Konkrete Namen kann ich dir leider nicht nennen, aber auf RUclips etc. findest du viele Infos, die dir auf jeden Fall weiterhelfen werden. Auch fand ich es sehr interessant mich mit der nordischen Mythologie zu beschäftigen, den Göttern, den Bräuchen und Ritualen, da diese auch deutlich in den germanischen Paganismus eingeflossen sind. Man merkt relativ schnell, zu welcher Richtung man sich hingezogen fühlt und was einen am meisten Interessiert, zu was man sich also "berufen" fühlt.

Happiness comes from satisfaction with yourself, being truly in love with who you are and having hope for the future. The God/the universe has granted us life to fill with love and joy, but sometimes the weight of the world can temporarily take it from us. It's isn't happiness that's temporary, it's pain. Joy is always there because it's what we are born with, sadness comes in every once in a while but it won't last forever.

So I have a question, I started having short lil glimpses of things in my dreams and then some of these things come true. Nothing big but little things that I see in dreams I see in real life. I also have had this cat for years and just now when I started learning more about magick and practicing and learning things it's almost like when I touch the cat I can feel an energy from him and it's a good feeling but idk much about this stuff and was wondering if u could explain some of it?

I didn't know they existed and that the place exists, a few months after i was at that place and the things happened just like in my dream..

I'm trying to get into witchcraft, but I'm having a lot of issues with anxiety. I've tried a few times in the past to start exploring the community, but I always get scared off by terms like "ritual" or the idea of connecting with the spirit realm. I've heard a lot of creepy stories about demons and evil spirits and whatever else, so I think the fear of accidentally inviting those things into my life is what's keeping me from actually committing to starting my journey.
Does anyone have any advice on this? And maybe some more insight into what goes on once you dive into witchcraft? I'm nervous that it's something more powerful than I can handle, or something that you can't pull away from if you decide you can't do it.

I don't know much about all this, but I've been studying for a while. Don't be afraid😊 The spirit realm IS scary, but in my belief, it's where we come from and go to in the end of this life. I believe it's beautiful, just like Earth, but kinda different. It's a part of life. (If you believe in this) You have spirit guides, gaurdian angels, your ancestors, family, friends, God or higher power, even pets that have passed that have got your back!👍 You have yourself.🥰 Believe in those who are for you, and very importantly, in yourself!💜😁 Don't worry too much, and do what you can..! If you want to connect with it, but are afraid, you can do things to make sure you are protected, or just research about it👍 Before you do things, be confident you got this. And I believe you do! Best wishes for you on your journey! You got this, whatever it may be!

But the more I reflect on my life, especially with COVID, the more I realize that I’m searching for something. For a path to follow that I can create with some guidance from higher beings and a good community. And the more I realize how personalized this craft is and it really is about each person individually

The witches of old made do with what equipment they had, witchcraft is personal to you, and what feels right for you, create you own spells, your own rituals. Magic is not within your tools, its within you, the tools just help you focus your energy. If what your doing feels right for you then your doing it right.

I am german so i am kind of at the root of paganism since it originated from germany, but also the surrounding countrys. I just now started to look deeper into my actual cultur and I am very happy that i am so close to its core
Germanic paganism is so fascinating!! Do you study it? I grew up with indigenous american and african paganism but I've studied it from around the world. My dad brought so many interesting tidbits form around the world that I was so fascinated with learning about other pagan cultures as well. I love that paganism and earth based spirituality originated with the first people all around the world and that every culture has roots in it 💕

I love how all of us that are drawn to witchcraft are somehow connected to each other, despite the origins, the country, the culture, we all share a similar energy and love for nature. Its like a big family that slowely starts to get in touch with each other again, stronger than ever. I took a lot of time into researching and connecting with my roots, mostly germanic, celtic and nordic paganism, traditions, rituals etc. I am so grateful that chanels like yours exist

Also was mir sehr geholfen hat und mir einen Orientierungspunkt gegeben hat, war in die Geschichte des Paganismus, des Heidentums, Schamanismus, Druidentum etc der Germanen und Kelten zu schauen. Konkrete Namen kann ich dir leider nicht nennen, aber auf RUclips etc. findest du viele Infos, die dir auf jeden Fall weiterhelfen werden. Auch fand ich es sehr interessant mich mit der nordischen Mythologie zu beschäftigen, den Göttern, den Bräuchen und Ritualen, da diese auch deutlich in den germanischen Paganismus eingeflossen sind. Man merkt relativ schnell, zu welcher Richtung man sich hingezogen fühlt und was einen am meisten Interessiert, zu was man sich also "berufen" fühlt.

Happiness comes from satisfaction with yourself, being truly in love with who you are and having hope for the future. The God/the universe has granted us life to fill with love and joy, but sometimes the weight of the world can temporarily take it from us. It's isn't happiness that's temporary, it's pain. Joy is always there because it's what we are born with, sadness comes in every once in a while but it won't last forever.

So I have a question, I started having short lil glimpses of things in my dreams and then some of these things come true. Nothing big but little things that I see in dreams I see in real life. I also have had this cat for years and just now when I started learning more about magick and practicing and learning things it's almost like when I touch the cat I can feel an energy from him and it's a good feeling but idk much about this stuff and was wondering if u could explain some of it?
The first thing is what would be referred to as “deja vu” or in reality a small premonition, happens to a lot of people once they start being more connected with themselves and their energy
Omg... it happens to me a lot too. It's not deja vu. It's literally my dream coming true. One time i had this dream of a place that I've never even been at, i never met those people. I didn't know they existed and that the place exists, a few months after i was at that place and the things happened just like in my dream..
