I just started collecting Pokemon cards 4 months ago. I have found 3 fates tins in retail and I was hooked. So I'm glad to see people like me that's missed it first time around may be able to get it this time.
Bought 4 boxes at my local Walmart for the first time since I got back collecting. I went everyday after work for them and once my opportunity came I bought them. Opened two and leaving two sealed

I somehow saw someone post on reddit who happened to live in my city saying he got one. I was able to pick up the last one (I think) from my lgs for $85!
I live in Sweden, I just started collecting this november the few online companies here that sell Pokemon cards had just put these ETBs up for preorder like a week before I started collecting, for around 75usd. Its gonna forever haunt me missing out on this product lol.
Gen 1 Pokemon will always be the best. Hidden Fates is like that! But Shiny Fates is focusing on Gen 8, which is skipping most of the previous Gen 2-7 Pokemon!
That's an interesting concept! I would much rather they sprinkle in shiny pokemon into regular sets in the reverse holo slot, but yeah. I'd be ok with this becoming a regular part of yearly releases
Any Modern set can be reprinted indefinitely by Pokemon company. Just look at XY Evolutions. It's still got new products coming out like Kanto Power boxes because it's very popular. Hopefully, Hidden Fates gets more reprints in the future because Pokemon company sees the demand for it.
Any set can be reprinted by Pokemon as long as they do not use the WOTC symbols and name from that era. Modern card printing is too easy and it takes nothing to switch over.
I tried to start a relationship with my local card store like you talk about in your videos. I messaged them back in November and they told me hidden fates would be in stock in 2 weeks. I messaged them two weeks later to ask if they had come in and they didn’t reply. I messaged them again recently, no reply...I had my girlfriend message them tonight and they responded at 1130pm instantly and told her they had sold out this evening. I don’t know what I did to make them not want to talk to me... never going to message them or try to go in to their store what a joke
@@dzeller09 I live an hour and a half away and rarely go to town which is why I was trying to message them before going in. I can’t just stop by everyday you know. I was finally able to get a hold of them now and we are on good terms now so that’s cool. I was really frustrated when I wrote that message but it has worked out

@@CNA-Games retailers here in Vancouver Canada are getting restocks right now. Some small department stores are restocking. We are usually late to the party when it comes to these sets. It's probably a print run from a while ago just making its way here now.
I know some people said they are already finding them. Over the next few weeks they should be making it into big box. Shipping delays and hiccups during this time of year has probably made this release a little more hectic than usual.
I found some hidden fates boxes at Walmart for me and my son but thats all I have seen. But check daily and really just want 1 or 2 hidden fates etbs. One to keep sealed one to open. But I can NEVER find them. My son and I get bummed out.

The Pokémon company has never been afraid to reprint a set and has intentionally done so to combat “investors”. This happens every 4-5 years and given the events of 2020, they are doubling down.

A bunch of invoices for preorders on eBay are marked for delivery after the 1st, so I'm thinking that we will deff see a new batch before and on the 1st. Pokemon wants to be ready for the holiday money that kids get and or that item kids exchange clothes for! XD
But it makes the cards not as rare if everything is reprint to the ground. That’s the fun of having a rainbow rare pikachu. (Using that as an example) Reprint is okay just as long as is not so many that makes cards not rare. Just my opinion.

no set is really safe until after like 4 years. but after Evolutions who knows what to expect now. Cosmic Eclipse and Unbroken Bonds were relative strong sets so Pokemon was in a mood. You would have to skip back to another generation to find the last good series because Sun and Moon was on fire.
I have 50% of my allocation presold. Once I make sure I have my allocation on the way and my numbers are absolutely solid, I'll open up the other half. I just like to play it safe.
I'm wondering tho- will there be any distinguishing mark between the og hidden fates and the reprint? Like a different year or set marker?? Or will the reprint be indistinguishable from the original?
Pokemon seems to make it a point to never have differences between print runs (other than correcting mistakes). If they did we'd have unofficial first editions and it'd be a nightmare to try to tell them apart while sealed.

I've loved Pokemon since I was a little kid, and am new to collecting. Love to shiny hunt Pokemon in the games, so these TCG sets that have shiny cards are amazing for me. Hopefully I'm able to snag some Hidden Fates at retail value! (Probably won't be able to though)
Called up my LGS and asked if they'd have any from the January reprint and they said yes and offered to call me when they get them in 😂 hopefully they're not too much above retail value.
Pokebeach, pokejungle, and serebii are where most poketubers get their info. LGSs will relay rumors and some info from their ditributors but there is really no secret insider info as most of them sign NDAs and Pokemon/Nintendo are amazing at hunting down non-intentional leakers. My local Target and Walmart has them as well, The Pokemon Company INTL is circling around to break up these "investor" types very soon, I'm just excited that i'll PSA cards at yard sales this year.
There are NO Pokemon cards anywhere. I can't find any new sets, and have been the victim of countless resealed products. It's saddening because I love collecting so much, and am frustrated that a hobby I love has been scalped and impossible to get new products.
Dude I feel your pain..! That’s why I stop at pharmacy a lot and when I find them at target, or Barnes and noble I buy more than one item. Just so when I can find any, I have some.
I finally have booster boxes - a decent amount too. Things are getting better and prices are going back to normal at least in the short term. January should see numbers even better on the most recent stuff. These specialty sets will always be hard to find though.

It's a shame that I have $1850 held up by that scam website pokedirect who just takes your money and doesn't ship, answer the phone, or reply to emails. Now I have to wait for my chargebacks to get that money to buy some HF ETBs.
One thing is when you say people are still wanting the promo, the cards... a lot of folks like myself are new to Pokemon tcg and just started collecting so there's tons of folks we still haven't even started opening hidden fates, maybe kids too so this is kind of like their 1st chance and other folks 2nd. Also that's that's probably why evolutions boxes are going for over $300-$400 now as well is all the new interest into the hobby.
its still dumb to pay 400$ for evo. It has huge supply and not much growth for it for a long time. Too many ppl fomod into buying evo cause of logan paul. The set came out in 2016.
@@MegaMunizaga Evo ETBs were actually reprinted in August and we got entirely new promo cards for Evo in August as well. RUclipsrs & streamers are opening these packs in the hundreds sometimes thousands daily. PokeRev alone has open over 1300 packs in a single stream and that's not even the first time. Any inventory from 4 years ago would be gone by now, but yet were seeing new evo products and cards in 2020 and the "investors" keep crying that there isnt a reprint of Evo. So I fully agree with you.

I feel like hidden fates is the only set released since before sun and moon that’s even worth spending over retail. Otherwise most other sets are trash.
"Trash" may be a little harsh. I think the price and demand just says how really awesome of a set HF is. All the other sets are more or less where they should be, particularly for modern. Once prices for graded modern stabilizes it should reflect in the sealed prices as well.

@@connorkeenan998 Do you really think $20 more than the absolute floor is scalping? When there's shipping, risk, and waiting involved in online sales? There is such a thing as a "here and now" tax. It's the same reason why gas stations can charge more for a gallon of milk than a walmart 5 miles away. You're there, it's there, and what's another 20% to save you effort? Calm down - just because people are a little more expensive doesn't make them scalpers.
I just bought 3 off TCGplayer for $108 each with $5 total shipping! That's like 110 each, also seen a lot for 115, now is a great time to buy I think. I would guess 100-110 will be the floor. Unless you hit the lottery and find one for retail..
Getting real tired of this scalpers, everything is gone and FB is flooded wiht people near me posting all the product they have bought and are reselling for 2x to 3x the price.
Do not let FOMO rule your life, keep looking and talk to the managers at your local Target and Wal-mart and maybe they might tell you when MJH comes in.
@@PokemonOverflow No Target in Canada, but we do have Toysrus. Walmart shelves are always bare when I go, Toysrus I have more luck with products on the shelves, but even still I have more luck finding things online. Even my local LGSs can't keep anything pokemon in stock. But I have yet to see any HF in person on a shelf for sale.

I'd like to unpack this a little. People that pay more than msrp for a limited available luxury item are actually helping the hobby, because those are the people who are genuinely interested and want the product. There's plenty of people out there that maybe are new to the hobby or just didn't get a chance to purchase something that would be willing to pay for it on the secondary market. It's those people that give product long term value. Things aren't expensive just because they're old - it takes the desirability and demand for that product after release for it to have value. So due to this demand, there is a reason for scalpers to go out and plunder all the product to flip because they basically know that because of the brand and collectability, sealed product is hardly ever going to lose value. It's those people that are ruining the hobby if anything. I don't advocate people scalping and I talk about that a lot on this channel, but I also don't allow scalping to happen on the product I get in and sell in my store. People see it as me being part of the problem, but as I have talked about numerous times, it ensures that product I have goes to a person that really does want it and doesn't get bought up just to sit in a closet for it to appreciate or get flipped to make a few bucks.

Best sets to ever grace this hobby is Team Rocket, XY Evolutions, Hidden Fates, and Vivid Voltage
Time will tell on the newer stuff, but I think you've got the right idea of what to look for.

It’s as if hidden fates is the “base set “ of the modest cards and Shiny fates is going to be “fossil,jungle” of the the modern. We are all exited!

I have not heard of any more Hidden Fates at all. This looks like the last of it.

Nope, that's already been checked out by PolishRob, he has a video on it already.

I plan on talking about Champion's Path again soon. It's a pretty box with pretty content, but I think history won't be kind to CP.

its still dumb to pay 400$ for evo. It has huge supply and not much growth for it for a long time. Too many ppl fomod into buying evo cause of logan paul. The set came out in 2016.
@@MegaMunizaga Evo ETBs were actually reprinted in August and we got entirely new promo cards for Evo in August as well. RUclipsrs & streamers are opening these packs in the hundreds sometimes thousands daily. PokeRev alone has open over 1300 packs in a single stream and that's not even the first time. Any inventory from 4 years ago would be gone by now, but yet were seeing new evo products and cards in 2020 and the "investors" keep crying that there isnt a reprint of Evo. So I fully agree with you.

It's a reprint... the 4th one mind you and after they said they werent going to print anymore earlier last year.
It's just ETBs. The tins saw a reprint earlier this year.

I feel like hidden fates is the only set released since before sun and moon that’s even worth spending over retail. Otherwise most other sets are trash.
"Trash" may be a little harsh. I think the price and demand just says how really awesome of a set HF is. All the other sets are more or less where they should be, particularly for modern. Once prices for graded modern stabilizes it should reflect in the sealed prices as well.

Saw a few ETB at my local baseball card shop and the owner had them for $169.99 😂😂😂 I was like “good luck with that.”
It'll sell eventually. I was preselling for $150. And when I get my others in it'll probably be more than that.

It's the same reason why gas stations can charge more for a gallon of milk than a walmart 5 miles away. You're there, it's there, and what's another 20% to save you effort? Calm down - just because people are a little more expensive doesn't make them scalpers.

I just bought 3 off TCGplayer for $108 each with $5 total shipping! That's like 110 each, also seen a lot for 115, now is a great time to buy I think. I would guess 100-110 will be the floor. Unless you hit the lottery and find one for retail..

@@PokemonOverflow No Target in Canada, but we do have Toysrus. Walmart shelves are always bare when I go, Toysrus I have more luck with products on the shelves, but even still I have more luck finding things online. Even my local LGSs can't keep anything pokemon in stock. But I have yet to see any HF in person on a shelf for sale.

If you pay more than msrp for this, or any other pokemon product, you are a sucker. Absolutely ruining the hobby
I'd like to unpack this a little. People that pay more than msrp for a limited available luxury item are actually helping the hobby, because those are the people who are genuinely interested and want the product. There's plenty of people out there that maybe are new to the hobby or just didn't get a chance to purchase something that would be willing to pay for it on the secondary market. It's those people that give product long term value. Things aren't expensive just because they're old - it takes the desirability and demand for that product after release for it to have value. So due to this demand, there is a reason for scalpers to go out and plunder all the product to flip because they basically know that because of the brand and collectability, sealed product is hardly ever going to lose value. It's those people that are ruining the hobby if anything. I don't advocate people scalping and I talk about that a lot on this channel, but I also don't allow scalping to happen on the product I get in and sell in my store. People see it as me being part of the problem, but as I have talked about numerous times, it ensures that product I have goes to a person that really does want it and doesn't get bought up just to sit in a closet for it to appreciate or get flipped to make a few bucks.
