At our recent Policy on Tap/WomanUP in Action Series, we talked about the business and economic impacts of childcare for families and businesses of Buncombe County.
Sarah House, a managing director and senior economist for Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Bank based in Charlotte, shared highlights from a recent report on the importance of childcare to families and to businesses and the need for public and private investments in the childcare system.
We also held a panel discussion with business leaders like Himanshu Karvir, the President and CEO of Virtelle Hospitality, and Carla Barnard of Carla & Co. Commercial Real Estate.
Expanding access to affordable, quality childcare and Pre-K is a priority item on our policy agenda.
