This one went further with a melody that was very chromatic. Zingaro does mean gypsy! So it's a fun nod at Roma music. I don't know how accurate it is, but it made for a very dramatic piece. I know very little Portuguese! I count on Google Translate for help, but I do study French, Italian, Chinese and Spanish on Duolingo. I have always read a lot of repertoire. I also encourage my students to read a lot of repertoire. I think the more music you are exposed to, the better. It's nice to learn different styles and play and listen to a wide variety of music. So many patterns made from just 12 notes! Love it. And will never get tired of it.
