+MrZurata It's Capcom. They like to tease in nearly ANY game that's produced/published by them. At least, that's how I've looked at it ever since I got into Capcom games.
+Lord Dagger Yep. In the end whether or not Devil May Cry's future was tied to DMC4SE's sales doesn't matter since DMC4SE sold really well. www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-profit-jumps-100-thanks-in-part-to-devil-ma/1100-6429308/
Lord Dagger Gaming Brit is right. DMC wasn't a niche franchise. It's Capcom's lack of care and the decision of making of DmC is what made it irrelevant.
now i'm not going to defend the fact that DMC 4 is half a game we all know that but if they were going to make new bosses and new enemies and new levels they might as well just make DMC 5
+Director Bison I actually did a little research on how Must Style Mode would work in DMC4, I have some good news and bad news. While it is interesting and I do enjoy it because enemies withstand a lot longer with me than ever before (DMD? Pffft... Bunch of pussy demons...) and it really helps you to make longer combos and it is challenging. That is mostly good but next the bad... People that do not use all of the characters abilities effectively will be devoured, mostly with Dante. A room full of Gladius and Dante is screwed unless you are very skilled with him. I was only able to hit SS with using air combos, guns and Royalguard and if I made one slip it was all over. Other problems consists of Chimera Seeds, Chimeras, Blitz and the Savior... So it wouldn't work for the average Joe but it would work for some "Ace players" with absolute awesome skillzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Hyena12 Welll modders have put Must Style mode in DMC4SE although it's a little different. You can only kill enemies in SSS rank but you can still damage them.
I surprisingly enjoy Lady's play style I think it's a nice break from all the melee combat. It's something new and refreshing. She didn't require much skill though, unless you're on Legendary Dark Knight no enemy will be able to touch you. If she had her own style of enemies and levels though...
Well, both extremes aren't great. Losing due to your character sucking is about as tedious as hitting A A B and watching your enemies explode is boring. This ties in with the concept of "gameflow", which basically states there is a level of skill the game asks for where the player is engaged, but anything higher or lower is very detrimental to their enjoyment of said game... CITATION NEEDED!
Man, Capcom fans are the most battered individuals of all time. Fans of Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Phoenix Wright, literally every old school Capcom fighting game (Darkstalkers, Plasma Sword, Rival Schools etc.) are just a bunch of domestic abuse victims. We need to start a support group or something.
SNK's like: "Oh, you're still waitin' for Garou 2? Well, here's a bunch of Fatal Fury pachislots and a mobile port of Garou: MotW, because touchscreen devices are BEST for playing fighting games! The PSN releases of Garou: MotW and several KoF games will be also Japan-only! More pachislots, this time with King of Fighters' name slapped on them! What? New KoF game? Don't be silly, we blew all of our budget on those shiny sprites in XII and XIII... and then wasted all the money we earned from those two on random lawsuits and CGI trailers for pachislots! What do you mean, our classic arcade franchises... Ah, yes! MORE PACHISLOTS!" Don't you even get me started on Konami. #FucKonami.
+SWBJACMK K This comment is pretty funny because Capcom are quickly turning themselves around. For example, a PC port of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen was just announced. All these have happened in a relatively short time span: - Strider reboot. - REmake HD - RE 0 HD announced, being a complete HD remaster with new modes. - DMC4SE and DmC DE, along with a translation of the 3142 art book releasing in a couple of weeks. - Street Fighter 5 looking very solid, with a promising roster and DLC plan and a focus on actually good netcode. - RE 2 remake being announced on Facebook of all things. - Ace Attorney 6 announced with a Western release confirmed the same day - Now Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for PC. And what do Street Fighter fans have to complain about? I'm telling you now. DMC5 will be announced within a year. Heck, there's a very good chance it might be announced at TGS a week from now. I'd say Konami, Hudson and SNK fans officially have it worse. Take Konami for example: Silent Hills, dead. Suikoden, dead. Vandal Hearts, dead. Parodius, dead. Goemon, dead. ZoE, dead. Every Hudson franchise, dead.
Potidaon It's all good, but we shouldn't forget about the past few years when Capcom's business plan contained nothing but the phrase "piss off our fanbase" repeated over and over a million times. They can still pull off some nasty tricks.
Apparently, DMC5 is in the works, they just haven't announced it yet. Probably because they don't want to repeat DMC4's mistake of backtracking/lack of differing story for characters. I think SE was just to keep fans at bay while they continue development
+TheGamingBritShow I have a friend who got to talk with Itsuno-san for a bit recently. Every question pertaining to Vergil he seemed very interested/ecstatic to talk about. Now Itsuno has been mentioning "something new is coming" while at the same time being very quiet about it. Through a myriad of questions and concerns it seems like this "something" may be a game focused around Vergil (which would be great IMO). I'm not saying anything is set in stone or confirmed/denied, however it does help to mention Itsuno asked the fans about things during the Prelaunch DMC4SE livestream. Such as "what weapons would you guys like to see in the FUTURE?". I was asked not to give any information about my friend or how he/she spoke to Itsuno. Just don't give up hope. :D
Well DMC4:SE sold well according to Capcom, so let's hope they do give us DMC5 at TGS. That being said, I'm going to blame Capcom execs, for not letting DMC4 be finished and Inafune for pushing towards DmC as to why the franchise got derailed. Nothing worse than external factors screwing up a franchise, at least once they're gone, the franchise can flourish. Still, I really hate that, "buy a re-release for us to make new games" crap Capcom pulled with Darkstalkers. Hardcore fans already own each game and version of each game.
yisin3323 Well as far as we know Capcom is currently making: - Ace Attorney 6 - Resident Evil 2 Remake - Deep Down - Street Fighter V - Umbrella Corps - Monster Hunter X - Most likely something related to Mega Man since they announced a Cartoon - Porting Dragon's Dogma to PC Some of these games are pretty much done of course, but they are going to receive post launch support. Still wouldn't be surprised they release a DMC game by 2017/2018, especially if Sony moneyhats them.
DMC4: SE was my proper intro to the franchise. I'd had DMC1 and 3, and the HD collection, for years, but didn't get into any of them until after I cracked open DMC4: SE. After that, I was hooked (I guess Trish and Lady were the ~SECRET INGREDIENT~ to get me into the series). Finished DMC3; looking forward to finishing 5. The party has gotten crazy, as Uncle Pizza Man likes to say. Thanks for this series of vids.
He wasn't holding back. Dante just going stronger is all. It was a gradual build up from beginning to end. First Vergil won, second they tied, third Dante wins. Since then they've both gotten stronger. Now to see how the next game between the two will play out.
I honestly prefer the special edition of 4 over the Reboot of DMC lol mainly because it's the Originals that made the series What it was and not something to Please the anarchy angst teens of the world. And i'll be honest Vergil is Major overpowered but it's Awesome sometimes you just have to kick back and relax as you can just Destroy every bit of your stress with well placed Vergil's Rapid Slash calzones
Darker actually DMC was more about "Fuck the government" which Most teens in fuckin 2016 and a little earlier Have been all fuckin for lately >.> the originals was "Hey look demons! Fuck Em" it went more around Demons than it did fuckin politics....Politics kills games and movies
lul no your comment doess make any sense.and the west love to adapt(take japanese stuff and make them as their own) or takinf japanese stuff lel.so irony for so called weeboo game.
Hakaishi00 I can't read either of your comments very well, all I got from those two is that DmC is an easy game, which is absolutely true. I beat it on Nephililim (hard) on the first playthrough I did. But then again, DMC 2 was easy as fuck.
I think it's important to note that this is definitely a good deal for anyone who hasn't gotten a chance to play DMC4 and can now jump into it with a bunch of extra content
Sorry to say this, but... I'm kinda happy with DMC4: SE as it is. Yeah, having new missions, enemies, and bosses would have been really fucking awesome, but I'm not entirely surprised or upset over the fact that said stuff wasn't included. It's very clear Capcom was really trying to push DmC's remaster far more than DMC4's, and was opting for more or a polish to both games over some legit content. Considering neither game got much time before being re-released, it would have seemed rather unrealistic if DMC4 would have had added the equivalent of half a year more's work on top of the time they were given for the added features and the touch ups, it probably still wouldn't have been enough time. Hell, considering what goes into character action games like DMC, with the substantially responsive enemy AI, the detail and intricacies of the environments, and the amount of effort it would have taken to create a new boss from scratch AND shoe horn it into the story already laid out (Jester got away with it because his boss took place in a portal within a demonic tower that has fucked up designs in the first place. DMC4 doesn't have that luxury, really...) boasts that it would have needed more time than one would think. Besides, i know you're part of the PC Master Race, but not all of us have that privilage or desire. Myself for example. I just don't find PC gaming appealing when it comes to higher end games. The most I play on my computer are 2D Side-scrollers or head-to-head fighters... normally indie games, and even then those are rare for me. I'm more of a console gamer. Always have been. Having the honor of playing LDK mode WITH turbo mode on a console is a god damn dream come true (not to mention playing as a proper Vergil again, a WAY better Trish, and having a grand ol' time with a new playstyle through Lady whom has huge potential). You may not care because you've already had that spin first, but it's just not so for a surprising number of us. As for the DLC... yeah, that was a dick move by Capcom... and quite pointless, really. Considering they increased the count of how many orbs/proud souls you get anyway, you don't even really need a boost. Not even mentioning what you just said, where all 5 characters share orbs, souls and items between each of them. Never the less, while it's still a very incomplete game with all of the content it should have had, I'm still glad it was released to us. Let's just all hope that Capcom just pulls a DMC3 with this mess... they dropped the ball by half-assing DMC4 (dropping it farther with DmC), let's see if they can't pick it back up so gloriously with a proper DMC5, learning from all of their mistakes... It's a very high hope. A huge stretch, but a man can dream, eh?
"Considering neither game got much time before being re-released, it would have seemed rather unrealistic if DMC4 would have had added the equivalent of half a year more's work on top of the time they were given for the added features and the touch ups, it probably still wouldn't have been enough time." That is absolute bullcrap and you should know it. DmC came out in 2013 and was already a complete game, albeit unpolished. DMC4 came out in 2008 and was polished but incomplete. DmC Definitive Edition came out two years later after it's original 2013 release and fixed A LOT of things from the vanilla version and added new content. DMC4 Special Edition came out SEVEN years after it's initial release is still incomplete, adding three new playable characters is cool and all, but as Brit pointed out, going through the same excruciating levels and bosses you been doing for the past SEVEN years tends to get boring. You say that it would be unrealistic for DMC4 to have half a year more's work on top of the time they were given for the added features and the touch ups yet DmC Definitive Edition proved that claim wrong. DmC Definitive Edition had two years, DMC4 SE had SEVEN!!!
@Conrad Kujur, that's fair. Mine is a piece of shit, $350 replacement laptop that I needed to get because my old ass 12 year old laptop had a stroke, but it works fine for the things I DO use for it (such as writing, youtube, and chatting with friends). However, there's no way in hell this thing will run anything beyond Undertale without wailing like sirens drowning in a swirling abyss.
That shot towards DSP was pure gold. I would've given DMC4 SE a shot if they added new levels and balanced the game. I wish they would make DMC5 and fixed DMC4's problems.
The release of DmC DE & DMC4 SE really was a test to see where the series would go from their, a sequel to the reboot that no one wanted or a sequel to the game people didn't know they wanted until they saw the reboot. Well we live in the time line that gave us DMC5 so I think the choice was made clear
The future of DMC doesn't hinge on DMC4SE's sales: www.gamespot.com/articles/devil-may-crys-future-isnt-tied-to-how-well-devil-/1100-6428432 And DMC4SE is considered a strong seller by Capcom: www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-profit-jumps-100-thanks-in-part-to-devil-ma/1100-6429308 Also it's important to note that DMC HD Collection was recently added to the Capcom Platinum Titles list on their website, meaning it has been close to 1 million and that it's been a big seller for quite a while now.
+Keirnoth Yeah, he should have done more research for this. Negative impressions stick way more strongly for people and are harder to dispel. And calling the remasters quick cash-ins is equally incorrect.
+Keirnoth Just to be clear at no point in the video do I state that Capcom is definitely using SE sales to justify a possible DMC5. This is just speculation on my part based on Capcom's previous behavior and the current state of the franchise.
TheGamingBritShow You don't do that, no. But with the way you present that speculation (partly by talking over footage regarding Darkstalkers Resurrection) that's how it ends up sounding, and is how a lot of people will interpret it. And we do know for sure that future DMCs aren't being held hostage to DMC4SE's sale performance, making any speculation to the contrary pointless.
+TheGamingBritShow I agreed. Especially because how stubborn Crapcom is and how they've acted in the past -- like the time they said that DMC5 would be tailored to the way fans wanted it but we ended up with a stupid unwanted reboot.
Lord Dagger The one who said DMC5 would be tailor-made to what fans wanted was Inafune. This was just months before DmC was announced, meaning it was already in development by that point. Inafune was the one that pushed for DmC and the westernization of their franchises. He is now gone. gematsu.com/2010/06/inafune-devil-may-cry-5-would-be-custom-tailored-to-what-the-fans-want gematsu.com/2010/09/inafune-devil-may-cry-5-to-have-a-western-touch www.siliconera.com/2013/02/12/capcom-senior-vp-gives-insight-into-east-vs-west-decisions/
I think Capcom is turning a new leaf with the whole "buy old games to get new ones." The main person who was responsible for things like this and even outsourcing to western developers was Keiji Inafune. With such examples like being a key figure to going to Ninja Theory for DmC, saying if the psp remakes for Mega Man didn't sell then no Mega Man 9, saying Darkstalkers needs to show its popularity, etc. As the games he tainted are already gone through the development cycle I feel cautiously optimistic for the future of Capcom.
It is amusing how much of a 180 the gaming community has made in terms of its perception of Inafune. I always held a grudge against him for screwing Clover and now I have allies.
+Pepsi Man After all these years, I'm happy gamers are seeing that Inafune is truly to blame for why the reboot came into existence. He pushed for it when nobody thought it was needed. It begs the question of why he did it, though. Personally, it's my opinion (not based on any facts) that he did it because Kamiya was making the first Bayonetta and he feared it would set the new standard in high combat games. Inafune is a real prick and didn't want to let that happen for Kamiya over there at Platinum Games, so he thought he'd do something drastically different with DMC. Only thing is, his plan ruined the franchise. Notice how Inafune bolted from Capcom only 1 month after the DmC reboot was announced and to enormous controversy. Very fishy....
That Legendary Dark Knight difficult, I love that.Haven’t fully unlocked all options in Devil May Cry 5, but I think it should be there. And also, a Musou game based on Devil May Cry would be awesome. Just need to require more skills
I still think criticizing DMC4 SE for not being a completely different game - because it doesn't add completely new environments specifically for Trish, Lady, and Vergil, and it doesn't add a full storyline for Vergil - is a bit silly. If you didn't expect anything like that from DMC3 SE, why expect it from DMC4 SE? A special edition is a special edition (the base game + extras), not an add-on. It makes no sense to claim that the *original DMC4* somehow loses value just because the SE doesn't fix everything you wanted to see fixed. Also, the team that worked on DMC4 SE wasn't the DMC4 team, so your claim that the statement 'DMC4 could've been great if its dev time wasn't halved' lost credibility, cannot be proved. Lastly, you can still play as the three new characters without going through the campaign.
You do know that DMC 3 SE did have new Vergil specific environments right? I distinctly remember the very first level being completely different. The game also introduced 3 completely new boss fights in the form of the Jester fights so there wasn't only new environments but also entirely new enemies as well. Besides, the main point of the video isn't that DMC4 SE should've added new levels. It's that adding only new characters just compounded the problems that the game already had. And honestly, I'm too lazy to look it up but there was definitely much less then 7 years between DMC 3 and DMC 3 SE
I don't think anybody is saying that DMC4SE should've had new levels or bosses for the new characters, what they, or at the least TheGamingBrit said, was that DMC4SE shouldn't have added the new characters at all and should've added new levels and bosses for Dante instead.
I get your point. I knew that the campaign would be the same but... I was at least wanting some new cutscenes and dialogue. Then I would've had more of a want to play it since I'd want to see what the characters would say next.
Ending theme is "Let the Butterflies Spread Until the Dawn" from the PSP version of the first Persona game. Great map theme, great to hear. Reminded me I ought to go back and play it.
I agree fully with you about all these cash-grabs and re-releasing games with extra content that should have already been included upon the *original release*. I got nothing but shit from morons who thought I should be grateful to play a game I already have and wasn't bringing nothing new. Oh wow 3 new characters and LDK mode...and nothing else? Same levels, same bosses, nothing added to the storyline? It's DMC3: SE all over again with extra players and another mode. Why has it been 7 1/2 years to get another DMC game? What's the point of spending their dwindling cash on half-assing past mistakes when they *have* the potential to make great games again. The fuck are they doing over there?
Your last message at the end of this video hits me REALLY HARD cause it shows me how EASILY things could have turned out differently for this franchise. Imagine if DMC5 wasnt even a thing, that we were left with nothing after this port, that the series was remembered for being a broken series that didnt truly reach its potential we all knew was there. It's scary isnt it? Makes you feel grateful for all the good games that we have gotten, all the returns that have happened. And I am regretful of this, cause as a Sonic the Hedgehog fan I truly feel the same way about my favorite series as well. How the Sonic series to me has potential that has yet to come to fruition. And as you look at where I stand, im proof miracles dont always occur for the things you love. Sometimes their is no opportunity for the thing you love and want to come. Thank God DMC did not turn out to be one of the fallen.
thing is i think DMC 3 is the closest thing we have to a finished DMC game DMC 1 didn't even start off as DMC it was resident evil 4 at first (i mean you can call bull on this point i won't argue) DMC 2 was a rushed game with DMC's name slaped on it DMC 4 is half a game and DmC had more DLC planed for it but it never happened can you imagine what they could do if they had even half the budget of resident evil 6 and were aloud to actually finish one of these
The highest selling Dmc game can't compete with resident evil so why should they even bother pissing of people again, just be happy that dmc3 exists the way it is
Amazing, man... and I admire how honest and clear you were. I'm super happy with DMC4SE, but I agree, it has many flaws (mostly, Capcom's flaws while catering the audience and wanting to milk more money from us). We can only hope for a future where Capcom will redeem themselves and deliver a DMC game that truly deserves its name.
It sucks to see Capcom treat such a franchise with such disrespect after so many years. The cringe worthy reboot was enough to put a lot of fans over the edge, but going this long without a proper sequel is damning to say the least. Hopefully we can get some confirmation of DMC5 already. If anything, it'll breath some much needed new life into this franchise. Just. . . no more DmC, ok Capcom?
+HeWhoEnjoysTehVids Capcom just made two remasters that add buckets of new and interesting content for only $25 when most other remasters add diddly-squat and cost $40-50. And they organized official style tournaments for both games. They're not exactly shitting on the fanbase. DMC4SE began development 1.5 years ago, meaning shortly after DmC released. Game development takes time. They can't exactly fart out a game just because the fans are desperate for one.
Potidaon oh, don't get me wrong. I don't think the remasters a re a bad thing (hell, PC folk are FINALLY getting to play a stable Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen!). I'm just saying I wish we could get sequels in a more timely fashion. . . or at all.
HeWhoEnjoysTehVids I hear you, but game development is pretty expensive, especially AAA development, which is what games like DMC5, RE7 and Dragon's Dogma 2 would fall under. Capcom have done very poorly lately, and so have a lot more to lose if say RE7 underperforms like RE6 did. The consumers are just as much to blame as the businesses, because we demand bigger, better and more shiny games. Look at any DMC5 wishlist thread across the web and you'll see people demanding more weapons, more styles, more bosses, 20 mission for Dante, 20 missions for Vergil, etc. That could be more easily doable... if DMC5 looked like DMC3. But if they did then they'd potentially risk a lot of sales and people would be upset because the graphics aren't cutting edge. Going forward I would like to see more late sequels. Not 10 year gaps, but maybe 5-6 years. If we get DMC5 in 2017 I'll happily wait until 2022 for DMC6.
I think this is the first time I've commented on your videos after being subscribed for several years. Good video dude. Was really interesting with some good points made. I was hoping DMC4: SE would have more modes that embrace the combo system in DMC4 such as a Must Style or Dojo mode but no :(
Hello from 2018. Just buying dmc4se after several years of not playing it. Let's hope DMC 5 can finally live up to it's potential. Feels like we fans of this genre are starving for new games with good combat mechanics, so rarely games like this show up, and even harder for them to be good.
I'm still in love with the "31 times the RAM and 8 more cores" joke because that's precisely the kind of contrived bullshit that nobody but me would laugh at.
I really like your objective reviews of things. It's pretty cool. No blind hate or loyalty. Just what you think at the time. I'm a relatively new subscriber, but looking forward to the rest of the channel!
+TheGamingBritShow, I want to thank you. See, I point out the lack of effort in DMC4 SE and I get shit on my channel, but I have a feeling people will listen to you. Thank you for honesty, its much appreciated.
Definitely worth the wait. Between you, Hyperbit, Pokey, Alarmhat (wherever he may be) and Atrophy I always get my spectacle fighter fill here. My neck actually hurts from all that nodding. When I fantasized seven years ago what the DMC4SE might be, I imagined a playable Credo, Vergil costume for Nero, a Sparda costume for Dante, as well as perfect DTs for both, and of course Dante's own campaign. Making Vergil selectable was the ultimate low hanging fruit for Capcom, with no regard to the individual character story. If it isn't convenient for Capcom that Vergil's dead, then create a story campaign that explains his inclusion. Don't be lazy and just add "a couple of decades ago." Also, shouldn't he be like 14 years old at that time? Why does he look like current Dante? In conclusion, sorry for my horrid English, and good luck to you Brit, may the Savior be with you.
Couldn't agree more, DMC4 special edition was a complete dissapointment. I love Vergil and Trish as much as the next guy but I'm not buying a game that still unfinished and those characters does not have any place in the game storywise and leve desing wise. Is capcom pulling their Street Fighter shit at DMC, instead of developing a sequel, no, just add minor updates to a game until you ran out of update ideas.
+Xfushion2 Seeing how they don't have much money to spend on new titles left and right...and that MAKING NEXT GEN PORTS IS THE HIT NEW THING, its not surprising they did this. Sadly they couldn't be like Vanillaware with Muramasa Rebirth
+Xfushion2 Did you miss DMC3SE then? This is nothing new for Capcom. They've always done this. Ultimately, adding characters and trying out experimental gameplay ideas is more imperative and a lot less expensive than trying to fix a fundamentally broken game. Just like USF4 Omega Mode for SF5, the gameplay additions in DMC4SE will end up influencing DMC5s direction. Also they will have a ton of assets they can reuse for DMC5, which they probably couldn't do by adding new levels, enemies, bosses or story.
There are welcome changes to the super modes for Nero and Dante. In DMC4SE, Nero now auto-revs after every swing and automatically does MAX-Act if you have that purchased and the only way he doesn't do this is if his attacks get parried, whereas Dante constantly has his Pandora Gauge and Royal Gauge topped out, allowing for infinite use of Pandora's Gunslinger style moves and Release/Royal Release and Dreadnaught are always at maximum effectiveness, though Dreadnaught is still on a timer as otherwise he'd be literally invincible and unable to jump. This also extends to Vergil who is always at maximum concentration when using his super mode allowing you to spam Heavy Rain Swords, Judgement Cut End, and Just Release Dragon Breaker (either by taking advantage of the automatic Just Release at maximum concentration or learning the regular timing) more than you already were.
The more i see the more i understand why a lot of dmc 3 fans hate dmc4. I mean, look at dante, his moveset is so lacking compared to his dmc 3 version. But, but, muh 4 styles at the same time and 6 weapons at the same time. This adds complexity to the game, yeah, but it is adding complexity for the sake of complexity. Each weapon that dante has in dmc 4, is so lacking compared to any weapon that he has in dmc3. And you said about the pandora charge, how with dante is about skill the modes, and with trish is about having meter, honestly, trish here is the best option. Not because it is easier, but because it is practical. What stylish action you'll see with dante's pandora "move 3 times to the right and turn around more 3" move, not a single one, is just used in wave clear. If it was something that the best player could do in a few frames, ok, but is not the case, even if you are good, because the number of motions needed makes impossible for someone to use in a stylish manner DMC4 dante is complex, and he is stylish at high level, but honestly, knowing him is not nearly worth the effort as it seems reaching the same level with vergil, nero, lady, trish, or even dmc 3 dante and vergil. I'm really sad they didn't improved dante in dmc4 se. And i'm not talking about damage, i'm talking about improving his moveset. His only good weapon is rebellion, and the fireguns. Lucifer and Gilgamesh are very lacking. And yamato? what a joke. Why not give dante back quicksilver and doppelganger? Why not give dante more weapons?
i like the reboot and dmc4 I don't care what people say about the reboot but you can't tell me the gameplay in the reboot was not Good. the gameplay was I beat the game at least 4 times same for DMC 4 its hella fun when your high to.
jesycomb but it's made to be very casual friendly and I can't play it. Especially since they dedicated buttons to dodging and launching. The launch button used to be used for styles and teleporting/grappling. Not to mention you don't feel powerful to me. In DMC3 and 4 you feel powerful while playing as Dante, Nero, and Vergil. I feel limited in the reboot.
I've been away from the series since DMC4, and picked up DMC reboot in a steam sale, i was immensely satisfied with the gameplay and once i got over the stylistic changes i really felt it was a good game, by far the most fluid combat in the series, and i get it it's more mainstream but i'm ok with that, felt easier to string combos together.
Brad Taylor I still don't think so. The setup just didn't work for me. Simpler doesn't always equal better. I feel very underwhelmed when playing the reboot. So much that I rarely play it. I don't like Vergil very much either due to him only having Yamato instead if three weapons like the main series. You can like it if you want, but I will see it as Inferior to the original because I prefer the original gameplay and find it more enjoyable.
the special edition is perfect for me, i only played the shitty DmC on pc in 2013 and bought the definive edition on ps4 and just yesterday i finished DMC3 (played two times through the game with dante and vergil) now playing DMC4SE with nero... CAN'T WAIT FOR Vergil!!!
The optimisation of the DMC4:SE PC version was such a disappointment. How it can run so much worse than the original release is beyond my comprehension.
sofija1996 Some of those i actually disabled with some clever exe editing i found on the internet. I wish i knew what they did to the frog boss fight that destroys performance so utterly though.
Fair enough. At least he's not talking about the anime series and saying that its good, cause its pretty poorly made. Good concept for an anime, but poor execution.
***** Tell me about it, what a let down that anime was. It was made my Madhouse too, who usually make great stuff. Hell some of my favorite anime of all time were made by Madhouse, yet they completely dropped the ball, what a shame.
+ShintaiReviews Madhouse have been going downhill over the years though. The Marvel shows they were involved in werent anything memorable, Bayblade is Bayblade and Last Order is rubbish, but in general they are good with production values and efficency. I'd reccomend watching Monster if you've not seen it, one of the best thriller anime I've ever seen, with some of the most memorable characters in the anime medium.
i totally would love a devil may cry 5. i have never played the games but hearing the way you talk about the older games makes me want to see a proper sequel done right and awesomely
Ok I get you don't like DMC2 which is fine and all but TBH you don't give DMC2 the credit it deserves. In the terms of gameplay if it wasn't for DMC2, DMC3 would never happen in the way it is. DMC2 does have good gameplay element that wasn't use properly(clearly). DMC2 isn't the best sequel I fully agree but it's not "god-awful" as you put it. I'll admit I'm one in a million that likes DMC2 but I can acknowledge it's pros and cons(unlike most in the fanbase).
+Brandon Williams Yes because DMC2 combat and game sucked...they had to work harder and make a better sequel and such which is DMC3. Dude i know you want to...weirdly defend the game for no reason and i'll admit there is some stuff i like in DMC2 but really no much to say or defend it. And "DMC2 does have good gameplay element that wasn't use properly(clearly)". i think most of the fanbase has seen enough of said gameplay and its really not anything. Just say if you know the cons, then no point in being surprised by people not liking it unless you don't see them.
***** "weirdly defend the game for no reason" Just like people weirdly defend DmC? ( ͡͡ ° ͜ ʖ ͡ °) Also what makes you think I was surprised or don't see the cons in DMC2(as I said I do)? As I said I get why don't like DMC2 but it's not "god-awful" as Brit said.
+AkumetsuRecords If it weren't for DMC2, we wouldn't have DMC3 witha fleshed out Dante or the Bloody Palace modes in the latter games. DmC didn't introduce anything new and set the series back 13 years.
+Lord Dagger DmC introduced: - New 3rd person camera system. Is positioned behind the player and fully 360 degree maneuverable - New movement controls, including full 360 degree maneuverability in mid-air. - Dojo/Training mode - Double button inputs for Gun Special/Gunslinger moves - Integrated style system without the need for Style-switching - In-game hint system providing tips and strategies on how to defeat enemies - Visual style gauge indicators featuring point indication for moves - New visual style indication in the form of the style rank letter which fills as style rank goes up. It’s more visually interesting than a plain bar that fills up. - Essentially every action provides style points, incl. parrying, dodging, just frame moves, environmental hazards, advanced enemy tactics, etc. - Style meter in DmC DE is the best of the entire series. - “Awesome combo” style wherein combos ended with a finisher nets style points. The longer the combo the bigger the reward (Definitive Edition) - Pause combo-switching (i.e. continuing a pause combo with a different weapon) - Multiple mid-air combos for more than one weapon - Rumble and visual flash during pause combos. - Charge stocking mechanic (for Ricoshot) - Charge moves charge faster and are therefore much more useful - Incredibly extensive stat tracking system, including steps taken, time spent: total, individual missions and under various conditions; enemies killed, what weapon was used to kill them, etc.; how often weapons and moves ared used; damage taken how and by what enemy; death: by x enemy, by pitfalls, etc. - Improved menu system/interface - Gameplay modifiers (Turbo, Super) are available from the mission select menu instead of being hidden in the options menu or being simple costumes. - Secret missions are accessible via the main menu. - All moves cost the same - Upgrade points are tied to a meter that fills up when you gain orbs, instead of being exclusively tied to mission rankings. - The ability to save at any point in-game and to continue on from the same spot - The ability to try out moves before buying them - Unique abilities such as Ricoshot, Reverse Rainstorm, Kablooey, Feed, Rake and Tornado - Environmental hazards (pitfalls, buzzsaws, etc) that can affect the player and enemies - Enemies (read: Drekavac & Dreamrunners) can knock back projectiles - Enemies like Dreamrunners can parry attacks mid-juggle. - Large-type enemies which can also be juggled, although it depends on the weapon/move used. - Just frame “perfect” parrying and dodging that are counted as specific maneuvers. By parrying I mean the act of knocking back an enemy’s attack with your own, not Royal Guard, - Just frame mechanics for all weapon types, including Firearms (Ricoshot) - Summoned Swords attach to nearby enemies - Original moves for Vergil, including Volcano/Atomic, Orbit, Flare - Vergil’s Doppelganger mechanic which is way more intricate than the one in DMC3 - Kablooey, Aquila - Bosses get their own separate missions - Gods Must Die (Definitive Edition) - Must Style (Definitive Edition) - Hardcore Mode (Definitive Edition) - Bloody Palace timer option (Definitive Edition) - Toggle option for lock on (Definitive Edition) - Almost no forced backtracking or puzzle solving DmC added way more than DMC2. Most of the stuff DMC2 "added" it did rather poorly. Only Wall Hike was truly great and it was partially nerfed in DMC3. Fans really need to stop defending DMC2 to make DmC sound worse. It makes them sound utterly ridiculous. DMC3 would have been amazing without DMC2 ever existing. And for the record, I thought DmC was above average at best. I absolutely hate the color-coded enemies, platforming, the level design, boss fights, the Rage enemies, the forced walking sections in certain levels, etc. Just saying so I'm not accused of being a DmC fanboy or some other fallacy.
Potidaon Fair enough, however, the combat was dumbed down, guns were useless, angel weapons sucked ass and were absolutely ridiculous, style ranking system was broken, no style switching or the taunts that became a staple of the series, awful unoriginal plot with gaping plot holes (and this was DmC's focus), and the annoying color code. It took a definitive edition (apology edition) for these morons to address some of the issues after all the bull NT and Crapcom spewed on the fanbase. However, the Apology Edition still suffered glitches such like the lock-on crapping out or bosses not responding. I disagree. DMC3 wouldn't have been amazing if it weren't for the feedback DMC2 had received. I personally prefer that game to DmC -- the character designs and the soundtrack being one of my favorites in the series. DmC was just a terrible attempt at cashing in on this "imaginary" new fanbase Crapcom was hallucinating.
I think Lady's playstyle would've been better if she had exclusive enemies that made Lady have to move around instead of just standing around on the other side of the room shooting projectiles
I don't understand the hate for DMC's story, sure it may not be Mass Effect, but its solidly written. Previous Devil May Cry games where not Shakespearean either, in fact the story was always more of a joke, it didn't take itself seriously so maybe thats why people liked it? While DMC preaches some interesting ideas that piss people off, thinking? Who wants to think!! gggrrrr

Wish granted my friend! :)
I like how they add in Vergil yet they never expand on the heavily implied fact that Nero is Vergil's son.
+MrZurata It's the ultimate tease.
THEY EVEN HAD THAT WOMAN LOOK AT HIM!
I would rather have Nero just be semi possessed by Vergils power instead of being his son
+MrZurata
It's Capcom. They like to tease in nearly ANY game that's produced/published by them. At least, that's how I've looked at it ever since I got into Capcom games.
And don't forget the shadow at the ending looking like Nero's Devil Trigger.
Suwat Saksri But why...
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this.

+benjgoughreturns Is that the music at the end? Would you happen to know the name?
+Neoxon Thank you so much!!
So what's the name?
+White Star Let Butterflies Spread Until the Dawn
Didn't Capcom say that DMC4SE did well, though? And that their profits jumped because of it?
+Lord Dagger Yep. In the end whether or not Devil May Cry's future was tied to DMC4SE's sales doesn't matter since DMC4SE sold really well.
www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-profit-jumps-100-thanks-in-part-to-devil-ma/1100-6429308/
Darkrlos Then this should tell Capcom that the classic DMC is still in demand. They're just stubborn as hell :/
Lord Dagger
Gaming Brit is right. DMC wasn't a niche franchise. It's Capcom's lack of care and the decision of making of DmC is what made it irrelevant.
Darkrlos Greed and push for a bigger audience really messed up the franchise. At least we got Vergil back and a few new extra cutscenes :(
+Keirnoth Fuck Inafune that con-artist
now i'm not going to defend the fact that DMC 4 is half a game we all know that
but if they were going to make new bosses and new enemies and new levels
they might as well just make DMC 5
+Director Bison Exactly. I'm more baffled by the lack of Training Mode, Gods Must Die, Must Style, a Boss Rush/Selection and tweaks to Dante and Nero.
same i thought for sure they would have put in Must Style mode
Hyena12 yeah but isn't that the point of something like Must style mode
i mean who but a hard core fan would play a mode like that
Hyena12
Welll modders have put Must Style mode in DMC4SE although it's a little different. You can only kill enemies in SSS rank but you can still damage them.
I'm glad to see Brit satisfied as hell in DMC5 review
"Well, since getting a new entry into a Capcom franchise is like wrangling a release date out of Square Enix *shows KH3*"
WOW THAT AGED LIKE THE WORST
I don't know whether this comment was made before or after DMCV was announced, but absolutely yes
I surprisingly enjoy Lady's play style I think it's a nice break from all the melee combat. It's something new and refreshing. She didn't require much skill though, unless you're on Legendary Dark Knight no enemy will be able to touch you. If she had her own style of enemies and levels though...
Yep, me too. The line grab or whatever she uses is quite cool.
Overpowered is better than under-powered.
Eeee, Dynasty warriors isn't very fun, While dark souls punishing nature makes every accomplishment feel incredible
Hey, Doom was never, ever boring.
@@deymargonzalez6466 Yeah, but you're not under or overpowered in that game
@@achair7958
Dying in 2-1 hit or killing everything in a room with a single shot.
Those seem to be both extremes mate.
Try SNK fans. We haven't been thrown a bone in 4 years.
Ah, yes! MORE PACHISLOTS!"
Don't you even get me started on Konami.
#FucKonami.
''Oh, Metal Slug? You mean that TOWER DEFENCE games franchise? Boy, do I have the game for you!''
+SWBJACMK K This comment is pretty funny because Capcom are quickly turning themselves around. For example, a PC port of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen was just announced.
All these have happened in a relatively short time span:
- Strider reboot.
- REmake HD
- RE 0 HD announced, being a complete HD remaster with new modes.
- Ace Attorney 6 announced with a Western release confirmed the same day
- Now Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for PC.
I really hope you are right. It would be a shame to see something as great as DMC die.

+TheGamingBritShow hi
tee hee hee
+DevilHunterJames You know nobody can believe those "friend" stories every time they come up man.
+RevanX77 Actually he's right
+RevanX77 Yea. James is actually tellin the truth.
They only have enough money to make 1 maybe 2 AAA release over a couple of year and Dmc is definitely not their 1st option
yisin3323 Well as far as we know Capcom is currently making:
- Ace Attorney 6
- Resident Evil 2 Remake
- Deep Down
- Street Fighter V
- Umbrella Corps
- Monster Hunter X
- Most likely something related to Mega Man since they announced a Cartoon
- Porting Dragon's Dogma to PC
Some of these games are pretty much done of course, but they are going to receive post launch support. Still wouldn't be surprised they release a DMC game by 2017/2018, especially if Sony moneyhats them.
@@ew275x how tf was this so accurate
The idea of the mode where you have to have an S ranking or higher to do damage actually sounds insanely fun
Playing Vergil on dmc 4 se. makes me wonder if he held back on Dante in dmc 3 and 1
joe carter ecsepcially being he was in the area Nero and Dante were 10 years prior. Holy shit
Course he did, what're big brothers for?
like what itachi did to sasuke?
He wasn't holding back. Dante just going stronger is all. It was a gradual build up from beginning to end. First Vergil won, second they tied, third Dante wins. Since then they've both gotten stronger. Now to see how the next game between the two will play out.
and then you meet Donguri controlling Dante, Rest In Pieces

But then again, DMC 2 was easy as fuck.
I think it's important to note that this is definitely a good deal for anyone who hasn't gotten a chance to play DMC4 and can now jump into it with a bunch of extra content

A new video...
Glad I didn't unsubscribe and give up XD
The 10/10 GOTY bit had me dead on the ground. Great fucking vid you just earned a loyal sub.
*****
Can't. As I've said, my laptop simply can't handle it. That, and I'm not much of a PC gamer anyway.
"Considering neither game got much time before being re-released, it would have seemed rather unrealistic if DMC4 would have had added the equivalent of half a year more's work on top of the time they were given for the added features and the touch ups, it probably still wouldn't have been enough time."
That is absolute bullcrap and you should know it.
@Conrad Kujur I concur.
Anyone that's recognise the theme that's playing at the beginning of the review.
You have my respect, and a sub
The release of DmC DE & DMC4 SE really was a test to see where the series would go from their, a sequel to the reboot that no one wanted or a sequel to the game people didn't know they wanted until they saw the reboot. Well we live in the time line that gave us DMC5 so I think the choice was made clear
The future of DMC doesn't hinge on DMC4SE's sales: www.gamespot.com/articles/devil-may-crys-future-isnt-tied-to-how-well-devil-/1100-6428432
And DMC4SE is considered a strong seller by Capcom: www.gamespot.com/articles/capcom-profit-jumps-100-thanks-in-part-to-devil-ma/1100-6429308
Also it's important to note that DMC HD Collection was recently added to the Capcom Platinum Titles list on their website, meaning it has been close to 1 million and that it's been a big seller for quite a while now.
TheGamingBritShow
You don't do that, no.
Lord Dagger
The one who said DMC5 would be tailor-made to what fans wanted was Inafune. This was just months before DmC was announced, meaning it was already in development by that point. Inafune was the one that pushed for DmC and the westernization of their franchises. He is now gone.

www.siliconera.com/2013/02/12/capcom-senior-vp-gives-insight-into-east-vs-west-decisions/
I think Capcom is turning a new leaf with the whole "buy old games to get new ones."
The main person who was responsible for things like this and even outsourcing to western developers was Keiji Inafune.
It is amusing how much
of a 180 the gaming community has made in terms of its perception of Inafune.
+lumpyspacecadet The Kenji Inafune of Megaman fame???
+blues03 Yes.
blues03 Definitely. I think he's had it out for Kamiya and his team since they all worked at Capcom. He's petty and ridiculous.
+Chameleonard Agreed
Then I would've had more of a want to play it since I'd want to see what the characters would say next.
msdrakegx no the missions are the exact same for vergil, jester also exists for dante.
This video came out three year before DMC5 came out. It really gives a perspective on how long the wait for DMC5 was.
I was there since DMC1.
Everyone clearly just bought the DMC4:SE just to play as the man the god the badass Vergil
Ending theme is "Let the Butterflies Spread Until the Dawn" from the PSP version of the first Persona game. Great map theme, great to hear. Reminded me I ought to go back and play it.
The God Hand background music tho.
That godhand music will forever be stuck in my head.
You forgot the most important change in DmC definetive edition. They removed Vergil's hat.
And I never knew I like taunting until it was taken away.
Ppl forget they was more powerful then the current virgil and dente angel and demon
Never noticed you used music from the dmc anime in this.
B A S E D
thing is i think DMC 3 is the closest thing we have to a finished DMC game
DMC 1 didn't even start off as DMC it was resident evil 4 at first
(i mean you can call bull on this point i won't argue)
DMC 2 was a rushed game with DMC's name slaped on it
DMC 4 is half a game
and DmC had more DLC planed for it but it never happened
can you imagine what they could do if they had even half the budget of resident evil 6 and were aloud to actually finish one of these
The highest selling Dmc game can't compete with resident evil so why should they even bother pissing of people again, just be happy that dmc3 exists the way it is
"Whoop, im gone" Move
Amazing, man... and I admire how honest and clear you were. I'm super happy with DMC4SE, but I agree, it has many flaws (mostly, Capcom's flaws while catering the audience and wanting to milk more money from us). We can only hope for a future where Capcom will redeem themselves and deliver a DMC game that truly deserves its name.
And sure enough they would! Ignoring what happened in DmC: Devil May Cry and do a direct follow up to Devil May Cry 4 with Devil May Cry 5
You just made me interested in DmC. I didn't think this would be possible. Great job!
+Potidaon Well DmC DE was actually $40 on release I think.
Darkrlos
Thanks for the correction. I must have confused it somehow. At any rate, it's still a pretty solid remaster and content update at $40.
Potidaon
oh, don't get me wrong. I don't think the remasters a re a bad thing (hell, PC folk are FINALLY getting to play a stable Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen!). I'm just saying I wish we could get sequels in a more timely fashion. . . or at all.
HeWhoEnjoysTehVids
I hear you, but game development is pretty expensive, especially AAA development, which is what games like DMC5, RE7 and Dragon's Dogma 2 would fall under.
It’s been like 2 years and I’m only just seeing the “post credits” monologue.
Watching this after knowing devil may cry 5 is a thing is a great feeling
I think this is the first time I've commented on your videos after being subscribed for several years. Good video dude. Was really interesting with some good points made. I was hoping DMC4: SE would have more modes that embrace the combo system in DMC4 such as a Must Style or Dojo mode but no :(
+mariotaz Or a Boss Rush mode that is the most obvious and easy feature they could add yet in 2015 they have yet to do it.
I'd rather play DMC4 Special Edition than Ninja Theories game.
That dente will still take a shit on dmc4 dente anyday way stronger and way faster
@@madaralitchiha2125 someone's delusional lmao
TheGamingBrit uploaded a video? It's like Christmas came early this year.
Devil May Cry 4 is honestly my favorite story, I wish we could get more story taking place after 4.
There is. It's called Devil May Cry 2 (But we don't talk about that).
We never talk about that game. Ever.
Hello from 2018. Just buying dmc4se after several years of not playing it. Let's hope DMC 5 can finally live up to it's potential. Feels like we fans of this genre are starving for new games with good combat mechanics, so rarely games like this show up, and even harder for them to be good.
Im just here for the ending
I'm still in love with the "31 times the RAM and 8 more cores" joke because that's precisely the kind of contrived bullshit that nobody but me would laugh at.
Psst.. MR. GAMING BRIT 👀
*DMCV INTENSIFIES*
That DSP mention XD If I didn't love you before (which I did) I do now. Great video!
I love going back to see videos where people complain about dmc 5 not coming, just to laugh about how dmc 5 is gonna be the best in the series.
Blazeplaysgames dmc3 is the best in the series
Firstly, glad to see a new video of yours, Brit. Secondly, that jab at Dipshit Phail was amazing.
i laughed way too hard with "swish, swoosh, wamoosh"
I really like your objective reviews of things. It's pretty cool. No blind hate or loyalty. Just what you think at the time. I'm a relatively new subscriber, but looking forward to the rest of the channel!
+TheGamingBritShow, I want to thank you. See, I point out the lack of effort in DMC4 SE and I get shit on my channel, but I have a feeling people will listen to you.
Thank you for honesty, its much appreciated.
+Brett Hicks You do know DMC4 wasn't finished like DMC3 that's why they both got a special edition.
ki'jana Jenkins
You do know thats not a fucking excuse right?
Brett Hicks I never said it was...
Really? Cuz it sounds like a fucking excuse....
You implied it was an excuse Jenkins
You know this guy played his 3rd person games when you hear God Hand music in the background xD props dude
Did I hear Pat?
+Vladimir Hutsell I thought so too. Glad I'm not the only one! :D
+Vladimir Hutsell nah, sorry to tell you but that was Vash The Shell Bullet from one of his DMC videos. I recommend you check him out
+Vladimir Hutsell i thought it was burns from videogamertv xD
Overpowered : yes
Fun and complex : also yes
hey Brit! apparently DMC4SE was outsourced to access games with Itsuno helming it...
begs the question what Itsuno's team is up to... #DMC5TGS2015
The music of God Hand :D one of my favourite BTA simple, hard and fun. Didcover you're channel i wanna say felicitation !
You failed to mention that almost all the moves of the new characters in DMC4SE are recycled Dante/Vergil moves from DMC3.
+sefret They can't recycle moves from DMC3. That's literally impossible, each game runs on a different engine from a different console generation.
That fucking ending hahahahaha! Bwaaaaahahahahaha! XD
Dmc Definitive edition They fucking did it right
I love the god hand music bed in the back lmao such an underrated game.
But DMC3 SE did introduce a new level, boss and story... Did you miss it?
This is your best video IMO. Very insightful when I thought you would just be gushing all over dmc4 again
Waiting on the DMCV review...
If it was something that the best player could do in a few frames, ok, but is not the case, even if you are good, because the number of motions needed makes impossible for someone to use in a stylish manner
DMC4 dante is complex, and he is stylish at high level, but honestly, knowing him is not nearly worth the effort as it seems reaching the same level with vergil, nero, lady, trish, or even dmc 3 dante and vergil.
+Sotherius DMC4 Dante has all that he need just look up his combo videos.
It's back now baby. Great vid. Was thinking of picking up both games.
i like the reboot and dmc4 I don't care what people say about the reboot but you can't tell me the gameplay in the reboot was not Good. the gameplay was I beat the game at least 4 times same for DMC 4 its hella fun when your high to.
Evil Dead I didn't like the gameplay of the reboot all that much. Especially after playing DMC3 and DMC4 that have the best combat.
jesycomb but it's made to be very casual friendly and I can't play it.
I will like it thankyou ;)
Ayyyyye an upload!!!
I've gotten used to the long waits for videos.
DMC 2 REMAKE (ORIGINAL)
OR
DMC 5
Dmc 5
"Devil May..Run Up On a Nigga"
The bad thing is that DMC4 Special Edition we never go a Box version in the West
That god hand music in the background made me play god hand
the special edition is perfect for me, i only played the shitty DmC on pc in 2013 and bought the definive edition on ps4 and just yesterday i finished DMC3 (played two times through the game with dante and vergil) now playing DMC4SE with nero... CAN'T WAIT FOR Vergil!!!
Yessss!!! Finally!!!
The optimisation of the DMC4:SE PC version was such a disappointment. How it can run so much worse than the original release is beyond my comprehension.
They added some post-processing effects (blooms, blurs, things like that) that bog down the performance AND cannot be disabled.
sofija1996 Some of those i actually disabled with some clever exe editing i found on the internet. I wish i knew what they did to the frog boss fight that destroys performance so utterly though.
I can understand if you're sick talking about DMC at this point, but if not I'd love to hear your thoughts on the style switch mod for DMC3.
There's a style switch mod?
Why the holy fuckballs is DmC DE not on Steam?!
i got all the dlc with the one i bought included, and its really well optimised, what else was in the DE?
Ah cool ty
The DE features on PC is the only reason i would ever buy DmC. So they lost a sale. Congrats Capcom!
Great video, man. Thank you for your succinct thoughts, which mirror my own in so many ways. Good show!
Did........ did you actually review DmC more favorably than DMC4SE? Am I in purgatory? Did someone slip something in my fucking coffee?
+ShintaiReviews He's talking about the ports, not the games. He does prefer DMC4.
***** I know that, it's just strange either way.
I actually enjoyed DmC quite a bit. And I liked it's story better than DMC4's. There was more character in it and actualy development in them.
SuperArppis i disagree, i think character growth from dmc4 and dmc dmc is eual
hmmmm im getting "This video is unavailable on this device." no matter what
some kind of copyright claim or something?
+Lord Dagger
DmC introduced:
- New 3rd person camera system. Is positioned behind the player and fully 360 degree maneuverable
- New movement controls, including full 360 degree maneuverability in mid-air.
- Dojo/Training mode
- Double button inputs for Gun Special/Gunslinger moves
- Integrated style system without the need for Style-switching
- In-game hint system providing tips and strategies on how to defeat enemies
- Visual style gauge indicators featuring point indication for moves
- New visual style indication in the form of the style rank letter which fills as style rank goes up.
The longer the combo the bigger the reward (Definitive Edition)
- Pause combo-switching (i.e. continuing a pause combo with a different weapon)
- Multiple mid-air combos for more than one weapon
- Rumble and visual flash during pause combos.
- Charge stocking mechanic (for Ricoshot)
- Charge moves charge faster and are therefore much more useful
- Incredibly extensive stat tracking system, including steps taken, time spent: total, individual missions and under various conditions; enemies killed, what weapon was used to kill them, etc.; how often weapons and moves ared used; damage taken how and by what enemy; death: by x enemy, by pitfalls, etc.
- Improved menu system/interface
- Gameplay modifiers (Turbo, Super) are available from the mission select menu instead of being hidden in the options menu or being simple costumes.
- Secret missions are accessible via the main menu.
- All moves cost the same
- Upgrade points are tied to a meter that fills up when you gain orbs, instead of being exclusively tied to mission rankings.
- The ability to save at any point in-game and to continue on from the same spot
- The ability to try out moves before buying them
- Unique abilities such as Ricoshot, Reverse Rainstorm, Kablooey, Feed, Rake and Tornado
- Environmental hazards (pitfalls, buzzsaws, etc) that can affect the player and enemies
- Enemies (read: Drekavac & Dreamrunners) can knock back projectiles
- Enemies like Dreamrunners can parry attacks mid-juggle.
- Large-type enemies which can also be juggled, although it depends on the weapon/move used.
- Just frame “perfect” parrying and dodging that are counted as specific maneuvers. By parrying I mean the act of knocking back an enemy’s attack with your own, not Royal Guard,
- Just frame mechanics for all weapon types, including Firearms (Ricoshot)
- Summoned Swords attach to nearby enemies
- Original moves for Vergil, including Volcano/Atomic, Orbit, Flare
- Vergil’s Doppelganger mechanic which is way more intricate than the one in DMC3
- Kablooey, Aquila
- Bosses get their own separate missions
- Gods Must Die (Definitive Edition)
- Must Style (Definitive Edition)
- Hardcore Mode (Definitive Edition)
- Bloody Palace timer option (Definitive Edition)
- Toggle option for lock on (Definitive Edition)
- Almost no forced backtracking or puzzle solving
DmC added way more than DMC2.
Who wants to think!! gggrrrr
Edgey cringe worthy trash.
