  • ‪@CarbatecTheHomeOfWoodworking‬ sent me this cool-looking jig from Kreg that helps you get consistent corner profiles on your work. I had a few little issues with it, but if you are cutting a lot of corners it is certainly much faster than marking them all out and heading to the sander. Here are my first impressions and review.

      Cheers Hadi. It does the job. Perhaps not the best corner jig on the market but worth a look.

      Cheers mate. This one is a bit of a corner case... damn, should have used that in the video :P But for batching out defintely a massive time saver.

    Great review as ever mate! Not sure if it'd be something I'd use but can see how the repeatability would be handy

    I just brought one of these and I'm also unhappy with the quality of the radius for the 6 and 13mm templates if you hold them on a square they are no where near square and that's why they don't work very well on the smaller radius jigs in the set

    • @FixitFingers
      @FixitFingers  Год назад

      I've not needed them again since this project. I'll have to pull mine out and check them. While plastic is strong enough for most of the things Kreg uses it for, I think aluminum machined radius inserts would have been much better

    Good review James, well done mate. I have a similar jig made by a competitor whose name starts with an R. I've had it for years but I have never used it. I might dig it and see how it compares to the blue one. Keep up the good work. All the best.

      That's OK, Carbatec sell the Rockler one too ;) Looks pretty similar, a few extra profiles with it but also more expensive. It is a very niche bit of kit. I've had it for months and this case insert was the first thing I've found I needed it for. I previously made an MDF version when I needed to do this. I think you'd want to be batching out things to warrent the investment in this one.

      @FixitFingers  Год назад

      @@christianwithers7335 ha! Whyobi, that's a good one. Yeah I'm not personally a fan, they have their place for casual use but I've been a fan of buying trade quality and having them last a lot longer

      @@christianwithers7335 Ryobi isn't the 'R' I was referring to but their brand is quite popular. There must be a reason for that. Cheers.

      I didn't see this was the comment that referred to 😅 There is definitely a place for Ryobi in the market, but not currently in corner jigs 😉

    What are your favourite Kreg jigs ?

    • @FixitFingers
      @FixitFingers  Год назад +1

      For jigs I'd say that would be the Accu-Cut, Rip-Cut and my 720 Pro. Though now I (finally) have the table saw I don't use the Rip-Cut as much anymore but it _was_ my table saw for nearly 5 years. The one I probably use the most is the actually the little Multi-mark though, boring, but handy. However, my favourite Kreg product is the clamp track in my workbench. That with the Auto-maxx clamps completely changed up and improved my workflow more than anything else. Check out the workbench video where I go into them in detail :D
