What I really like about Fonseca is that he is already showing good point construction and variety of shots at such a young age. Good for him
You need to have all of those things to succeed on clay, whereas on faster surfaces it’s just all serve
Also worth mentioning is that Fonseca looks very European, unlike many other persons from south America.
You need to travel more@@AA-le9ls, he looks very Brazilian to me, as a Brazilian myself.
@@AA-le9ls it´s not worth mentioning because it has nothing to do with his tennis lol
@@AA-le9ls obviously you know nothing about South American people...
This guy is a phenom. If he doesn't have any serious injury, we brazilians finally will have someone to expect big things. He is much more complete than the previous promises we had after Guga. Thanks ATP tournaments for believing in him providing wild cards. Next year will not be needed!
He looks like a complete package for clay. Drop shots at the net, power, backhand... looks solid...
Fonseca makes tennis look easy. It looks like it doesn't take him much effort. Very talented guy. He will probably win Roland Garros atleast once during his career.
This guy is the real deal. All the weapons needed for being the best, and he looks extremely solid for his age.
A future champion in the making...
Djokovic said Fonseca is a dark horse for the clay swing. Bro knows what he's talking about.
This guy's the real deal. He'll probably be the best Brazilian player since Guga!
A beautiful mix between sinner and alcaraz style, what a talent
With this maturity and technique on clay courts, he will be a player who will give the veteran ATP players a hard time.
and clay is his weakest surface. His best results in the junior tour happened on grass and hard courts (his favorite surface).
He is already doing
My goodness!!! Fonseca is soooooo impressive. Good win.
Fonseca should rise quickly in the ranking of the ATP.
I’m with everyone else I’m all aboard the Fonseca train. His FH is absolutely world class - it will be there with Del Potro, Gonzalez, Berdych, Tsonga etc. I hesitate to say Fedal just yet as we need to see ingenuity and variation that comes with playing at the highest level.
But he’s SO solid and very fun to watch
Joao plays so beautifully sometimes.
In 48 hours João climbed from 276 to 240 in the world. If he wins against Tabilo next, he will be 212, and if he wins the tournament he will enter the top 150, ranked around 143. Another phenomenal player at 17, like Nadal and Alcaraz. His only obvious weakness seems to be physical endurance, as his power levels often collapse when taken to a third set, but that will get better very quickly. His Federer-like sneak attack on second serves is a lot of fun to watch.
Fonseca has a fantastic movement on court. That is his main talent.
For those guys who don't know, Federer has invested his personal money on that kid. Nowadays, his career is managed by Federer's marketing company and he is sponsored by ON.
In Brazil, it is really difficult to find investors for education, science and sports. My cousin went to Harvard by selling his own apartment. No incentives are given to those remarkable people.
brasil é com S
@@victorbicudo1374no nosso idioma.
Fonseca came from a very rich family money never was a problem for him really, but is a great opportunity for his career being managed by Federer team
@@victorbicudo1374
This guy needs wildcards to the bigger tournaments
I don't think he'll need them if he continues to use the ones he gets like that.
Next match can take him to RG quali. I guess USO will give him a WC as he is last junior champion and bring much audience
Fonseca has a pretty refined skillset. Has really good touch and point construction for someone so young. Ive seen him struggle with fitness issues but if he works on that and keeps progressing, I can see him challenging guys in the top 15 very soon.
He's only 17 so his body is still very much developing. But he looks very solid already from a technical pov.
I expect Fonseca to win a title this year, but it could even happen this week. A tremendous talent, he may eventually become even bigger than Kuerten.
He maybe will be caliber of big-3 FeDaloVic.
I'm excited for Joao. He has every shot in the book and is very quick around the court.
HE IS SO AGRESSIVE ! FANTASTIC
You forgot to take your caps-lock off :-(
His variety of shots are impressive for such a young player. Definitely a top-10 player very soon.
How is it possible for a 17 year old to be so good at something
He is not so good lmao he won against albot... Who tf is that
Lol, beating top 100 players at age 17 means you're really good at tennis...@@yuvalshoham5603
What kind of question is that lol
@@yuvalshoham5603Don’t disrespect my man Albot.
@@fredthechamp3475 who is that bro
Fonseca reminds me of Sinner. Lots of easy power, similar mover.
Fonseca looks even smoother
Sinner just plays in the baseline. Fonseca is more an all aroud player.
Have you ever watched sinner play? That's not true at all@Slickk_007
Fonseca é um fenômeno!!!!
Fenômeno 🇧🇷🔥🔥
Mixer Sinner + Alcaraz
Well done! A star on the rise!
The best of Fonseca will still come on hard courts - where he is the current Jr US Open champion. His tennis seems to fit all the surfaces. Curious to see him playing in the grass tho.
If he keeps the pace, by RG he will have rank to play in the qualies
Well done João! 👏 😍
Love his gamestyle, I also use a lot of forehand chops when I am late on a ball (on a club level) and everyone hates it and say its not a pro thing and that I wouldv have been destroyed by a good player. Fonseca proving it is a great addition to the game when properly used.
2025 will be the year of Fonseca
Fonseca definitely the in-form player to beat in Bucarest.
Brazilian teniss livessss againnn
Vamos João 🔥🇧🇷
A new star is growing
Fonesca, Mensik, and Prizmic
Fonseca
@@AustralopithecusUrbanus Yeah but I’m saying they’re the youngsters that have shown immense amount of success
Fils ?
@@K4R3N shoot you're right, and then there's also alcaraz and sinner as well
He started playing at 4 years old which is where a lot of champions started (Federer being an exception). 4 years old is the best stage to start developing your ABC,'s - Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed
Sinner as well.Relatively late start.
Federer the God of tennis.
@@NN-fw9il Sinner started playing when he was 5-6. He started playing ONLY tennis at 14 yo.
@@bobbyg5358 Same as Federer!
@@bobbyg5358 casually playing a sport from a certain age and training in a sport from a certain age are two completely different things
This kid reminds me of the beginnings of alcaraz
At the same age? This dude's tennis is better. More complete player but time will tell.
@@federicorusso4378 Alcaraz won a Masters 1000 at 18.
Fonseca needs a couple of years to get to that level. Alcaraz was ahead in his development at a similar age despite Covid setback.
@@federicorusso4378I guess you forgot what Alcaraz looked like at age 17, but he had already made R2 of the australian open and gone just as deep as Fonseca at ATP 250's. Not to mention that he had won multiple challenger titles and beat Ramos-Vinolas (who was ranked 41 at the time) at age 16. And Carlos was ranked 140 at Fonseca's age where Fonseca will be at least no. 240 next week.
Fonseca is very good at age 17, but not better than Carlos.
edit: Unless Fonseca wins this tournament of course.
@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegetenFonseca's game looks more fluid and promising than Alcaraz's. It's a Djokovic type of game, executed with the elegance and fluidity of Federer.
@@AA-le9ls Even though I agree that Fonseca's strokes look more fluid I would not say that he has a more promising game style. If Alcaraz maxes out his potential and then plays at the very peak of his abilities he will blow everyone off the court as he can literally do everything on a tennis court.
Fonseca to me also seems to have this potential, but it's very early to make a good judgement and I'm not sure if he is as athletic as Carlos.
It's definitely possible that Fonseca will end up being better than Carlos but we will have to wait a few years to see.
Sinner and Alcatrazz are trembling !!
VAMOOOOOOOOS BRASILLLLLLLLL
AIbot was will learn from this and improve in the next test 😊
Omg I thought I saw the same drop shot point twice
Joao Fonseca is the younger version of Jannik Sinner.
Fonseca will be at the top with sinner and Alcaraz. It’s not if, it’s when.
I think in 2 years
Fonseca already is too much for guys on Albot's level. Regardless his ranking and age when Fonseca cut the non forced errors he can face any top50 nowadays.
just seen RG-winner 2026
real deal
João. JoÃo. 😊😉
Plus ultra!
Already the greatest forehand of all time
Joao Fonseca..... A new generation Star ★ born.
Fonseca will win 20 grand slam
I hate two handed backhand, I' m loving tennis but now I only support Tsitsipas, Dimitrov, Musetti, Atlmaier, Kovacevic, Eubanks, Lajovic, Thiem, Shapovalov, Vavassori and everyone who plays one-handed. Fonseca is next annoying player. For me, one handed bh should be mandatory on ATP Tour
Ok we get it you miss Federer.
cry harder
LOL variety is nice.
Roland Garros authorities should give this kid to wild card for participate upcoming RG.
I think he might still be able to play the Juniors tournament, no?
*Your videos are a breath of fresh air, always enjoy watching* 🥰
Sure but why boldface every single word?
