I was really disappointed to learn the guy who bought it totaled it the 1st week he owned it. He had an accident in a parking lot then it fell off a flat bed wrecker during transport.. ouch!. I now own a Valkyrie the past 8 yrs
I have this identical bike. I run a car tire on the rear. 4 times the mileage at a quarter the cost and handles the same. I change my own tires, and it's a pain, so there's that too.

I have one - it rides superior to many other brands in almost every aspect. I completely love it. But have a question. I understand it is oil & air cooled (?) Is it necessary to change or top off any fluid considered coolant? If anyone could help me understand a little more about that cooling process. I would truly be grateful. I

Best day of my life was when I sold mine...these were such a failure of design. The decompression system is a inevitability of failure...it will leave you walking..no fix for it even with proper maintenance. The electrical system is weak, wire harness is under gauged, its heavy, gets poor fuel mileage, and thanks to the tiny tank under the seat you get to enjoy fueling up every 100 miles, I wouldn't trust one of those across town, much less across country...there are forums dedicated to the problems and issues associated with the poor design of these bikes, countless DIY fixes for just about every single thing bolted and screwed down on it, the only thing I can say positive about it...it did ride smooth, cause it weighed as much as a battleship, other than that I would run from one of these mechanical nightmares.
I've had decompression issues here and there, but it's easy to manually by pass. Otherwise I absolutely love mine. I'll never go back to Harley unless someone gives me one.

1500 is a monster bike with a lot of torque. Be careful, if you could start on a 600cc-750cc to learn on, then step up to this beast

Oil cooled, the radiator on it circulates oil. If you're at a stop too long just shut off engine. Newer c90's might be watercooled.
