    John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Author and is talking about screening the lower limb joints prior to assessing patients that present with pelvic and lower back pain.

    So when you say that problems in one area Can make symptoms in other areas , are you then talking about referred pain or is it regional interdependence? :)

    These would be good tests for a cadaver...but for a living human they are basically worthless. When you lay someone supine on a table and distort/eliminate gravity and ground reaction force and eliminate mass and momentum, any "test" is at best subjective because the client is not in her proper environment. Thus any muscle or joint interplay is eliminated and isolated, local, emphasis gives us a distorted picture of how their body truly functions.

      Ok??? the whole point of orthopaedic tests is to isolate various tissues in the body to increase specificity to gain a better understanding of what is going on...
      Not only that, but many tests are grouped in clusters to increase diagnostic understanding.
      If you test the entire kinetic chain at once, how are you suppose to understand where the dysfunction is?
      You can't... There are to many variables. You have only demonstrated that there is dysfunction

      That is why you hav clusters of tests. Doing some tests helps you to isolate and draw a more reasonable conclusion
