It's crazy that Tracee was only in one episode because I thought she was in at least three episodes then I realized when I watched the series a second time that this episode felt like three episodes.
"Tracee... She slipped... She fell", he says, all disheveled, with his hand jammed into an ice bucket. Worst understatement of the millennium, almost. Ralphie's an interesting character because of how repugnant he is on a human level, moral, well, any level really. An incredibly dysfunctional person, yet still very successful, in this shady underbelly world of crime and violence, because of how dysfunctional he is. He's coldblooded and psychopathic enough to go those extra steps few others can - even in his own "business." Not exactly the first time Joe Pantoliano's played a badguy, but he does it with such style and panache - even such a slummy guy as Ralph Cifaretto. :) Fabulous stuff - the show wouldn't have been so good as it is without people like him capable of masterfully playing a black-hearted villain.
@17:12 You two recently reacted to the first _Rocky_ film almost a year after reacting to this episode. Just wanted to remind you of the late, great Burt Young in this episode who plays Paulie in _Rocky._ (R.I.P.)
Pre-comment, if you will...getting ready to watch and so excited! I love watching you both and reliving what is probably my favorite series of all time! Popcorn, please!!!
Have you two ever heard of Talking Sopranos? If not please check it out, Michael Imperioli (Christopher) and Steve Schirripa (Bobby) hosted the podcast during 2020 quarantine and it featured cast, crew, and guests (including the young lady who played Tracee), episodes are still on RUclips and I believe it’s on Prime video. Also, I wished that they would’ve written a fantasy episode with Lorraine Bracco portraying Carmela and Edie Falco plays Dr. Meli.
How does Tony attract all these women..?? "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac" ~Henry Kissinger Liked the "University" episode. Obviously focused around the three young women...Meadow, Caitlin(roomate), and Tracee(stripper) Med is very privileged. Has every opportunity. Street smart, book smart, the world is at her feet based on her upbringing. Tracee is at the bottom of that scale. Shit upbringing, school dropout and probably multiple abusive relationships which led her down the road to being a stripper / "whoooah". Then there's Caitlin. A fish out of water from a small town in OK, entering the mean streets of the Big Apple where you have to have a thick skin to survive. She's also privileged but very sheltered. It's culture shock compounded with latent mental health issues. For Caitlin, she doesn't realize that people like Tracee exist / what their life is like day to day. The worst thing that happens to Caitlin is a homeless woman with a daily news up her butt and a smelly subway train. A day in the life of Tracee would give Caitlin a full psychotic break. Loved how this episode parallels the 3 of them beautifully. It really is a standout episode.
I'm going to put my Noah theory out here in the regular thread!! When Noah met Tony for the first time, and Tony laid into him with the racist comments and insults, that's when Noah decided that his REVENGE would be taking Meadows virginity and then kick her to the curb!! I mean he basically knew at that point that it made no sense to try and carry on a serious long going relationship with Meadow since her family was obviously racist, at least a dad!! So plan B?, screw the daughter and hurt the daughter in order to hurt the father!!!
He's a rich kid son to a rich dad. He probably hasn't been raised to show a lot of respect and consideration for other people. Occam's razor - your complicated plan in one hand, and in the other, Noah's simply a selfish d--k.
That would depend on Tony learning of this, which is never confirmed. Not a bad theory, but people stay in relationships knowing the other has a family they do not get on with. I think he is a douche obsessed with his grades. And guys (and gals) sleep with people and bounce without revenge on the mind. So maybe, maybe not, maybe go…jk
You honestly think that's what the writers were intending? In order to come up with a legit theory, you usually need concrete evidence from the text for support. At no point are there any specific hints, lines, and dialogue to buttress this theory. But then again, it's always fun to theorize 😁
@@CoryGasaway I totally agree but just by the way the character is played it sounds like the kind of a douchebag move that somebody like Noah would pull.
Actually,...... Noah DID sleep with Meadow's roommate when she came to his room. They never outright showed or confirmed it, but everything that happened after that prettty much did. From her being all chipper and perky like Meadow herself was after she slept with him, .......to Noah whining about failing his exam (because he was having sex with her instead of studying,..), and the way he broke up with Meadow. The writers confirmed it afterwards, but her storyline was supposed to mirror that of Tracee's of an unstable, overly-clingy young lady (and they are all the same age the three of them; Meadow, her roommate and Tracee) who gets into relationships she shouldn't and has questionable judgment with the man in her life (with whom she's cheating on his spouse/partner/girlfriend). The two storylines (Ralphie and Tracee, and Noah and Kaitlyn - with Rosalie and Meadow on the outsides) ran parallel with each other in terms of the themes they explored, but obviously differeing on how they ended with one obviously being much more tragic than the other.
I think Noah planned on having sex with Meadow and then leaving her WAY before the night that he probably did sleep with the roommate!! My theory is that when Tony laid into Noah with the racist remarks and insults, Noah decided AT THAT MOMENT that his revenge for that would be taking Meadows virginity and then kicking her to the curb!!!😢 I never heard the having sex with the roommate thing but it makes sense!!!
What is so funny is when this originally aired, I remember the first thing I thought of was they are not going to just hang out. I mean, if I was in the Noah position I would have been thinking the same thing. Kaitlyn is cute after all. But he is pretty convincing as solely a db obsessed with grades (which I think he is). I would say his actions are tied to his academic performance, a restraining order is over the top. Because they never give us anything more, I always assumed I was wrong. I took her being happy as a manic phase, but could definitely could see it the other way. I mean that chipper part is the clue. But also, guys can just be jerks. Revealing things after the fact is interesting, messes with your own perception and which to accept
This season they went more darker so people won't like the bad guys, one strategt they used was having them hit women. It was effective. Also, I know they were doing a parallel with Tracee and Meadow and what not, but Meadow had so much screen time these seasons, and her story is so fking boring to me 😭 Anyway, great reactions, might be the best Sopranos series on yt 😉👍
After the argument with Meadow in the kitchen, Tony took out his anger at Meadow (& Noah) on the traffic cop because his was using a black officer's association for his appeal.
Noah backed off because he figured that he had gotten his revenge on Tony by getting into Meadow's pants. After that he was just looking for an excuse to break up with her.
It's crazy that Tracee was only in one episode because I thought she was in at least three episodes then I realized when I watched the series a second time that this episode felt like three episodes.
Same. That storyline looms larger than one episode's worth.
i had the same thought on my 2nd run through. couldnt believe it was only 1 episode
Burt Young played Bobby's father. He's best remembered for playing Paulie, Rocky Balboa's skeevy brother-in-law in the Rocky movies.
"Tracee... She slipped... She fell", he says, all disheveled, with his hand jammed into an ice bucket.
Worst understatement of the millennium, almost.

WELL, if you didn’t know Ralphie character in the show, NOW you know, my nickname for him is “The Mob Joker”☺️😉
"Whatta you hopped up on something"?
Low key the funniest line of the episode from Paulie....
Almost every line from every episode is Low key funny the more times I watch this series.
“Why was I born handsome instead of rich” this episode is full of gold

Wow, that's cool! We'll have to watch that at some point.
The episode with "Tracee" is particularly good.
@@davidg5506 Absolutely, I thought about that episode when this was posted on my timeline.
It's a podcast that I'd recommend to any real fan of the show. Even if you only check out a couple of them, it's worth it!
Podcast was a God send during the pandemic
Hey mom!!
Used to listen to Kasey Kasums (?misspelled) top 20s (?or40s ) every week!! Great memories!!

39:34 😆 Ralphie
24:58 imagine that😂
After this episode, some people actually cancelled their HBO subscriptions because they were so offended by Ralph killing Tracee.
Totally get that! 😢
