Bradistan as it's named allegedly and I have unfortunately worked there for a 6 month period and refused to go for a second stint. I'm not a racist but being white doesn't bode well there in certain parts.
Born and raised in Bradford until I was 18. I was 6 when the race riots happened. When people hear about Bradford they immediately assume Bradistan but the truth is there is still a large white population. Some areas are still 90% white. The area im from called Manningham is probably 80% Asian. In my secondary school year (200 kids) there were only about 30-40 of us who were white. We had to stick together and I could probably name a hundred incidents from my childhood when I had trouble for being white. Each of those incidents was either a run or a fight. If there were too many or they were older we ran. Sometimes we tried to fight. We got punched, kicked,spat on, robbed. Everyone has their own experience from Bradford but in my opinion it was definitely more of Asians going after whites than the other way around. However im not racist towards Asians and I still have Asian friends. I love Bradford but now I live in the home counties and its just easier being able to go out and not have to watch your back all the time just because you're white.

When I went to my local school in Bradford in the late 1970's, there were two Pakistani kids in my class. The same school today is 99% Muslim. The main issue today is the younger Muslim boys that rent supercars that are not insured. Bradistan as it's named allegedly and I have unfortunately worked there for a 6 month period and refused to go for a second stint. I'm not a racist but being white doesn't bode well there in certain parts.
Born and raised in Bradford until I was 18. I was 6 when the race riots happened. When people hear about Bradford they immediately assume Bradistan but the truth is there is still a large white population. Some areas are still 90% white. The area im from called Manningham is probably 80% Asian. In my secondary school year (200 kids) there were only about 30-40 of us who were white. We had to stick together and I could probably name a hundred incidents from my childhood when I had trouble for being white. Each of those incidents was either a run or a fight. If there were too many or they were older we ran. Sometimes we tried to fight. We got punched, kicked,spat on, robbed. Everyone has their own experience from Bradford but in my opinion it was definitely more of Asians going after whites than the other way around. However im not racist towards Asians and I still have Asian friends. I love Bradford but now I live in the home counties and its just easier being able to go out and not have to watch your back all the time just because you're white.

Absolutely 100% incorrect. I was there 18 years, including during the riots. It's an exceptionally violent city which I have witnessed many times. However, this is not simply about race, nationality. There's a lot of violence there regardless of where you go.

I am born and bread in Bradford and its saddening to see it change so much, but while the politicians are living in there nice leafy villages we are been told its multiculturisam and diversity. Bradford is a shit hole now. Once nice areas and nice houses have been turned in to ghettos.

I'm from Leeds and every much disagree and I'll give you a 5 reasons why.
1 The traffic and the drivers are horrible pairiod.
2 the city centre granted is much better in 2020 but is still run down.
3 the amount of rubbish on the streets is beyond a joke the people have no respect for the environment or the city they live in.
4 segregation in Bradford is next level this isn't just aimed at race homlewood is known as one of the wrost estates in the UK to live I've walked throw it before and got chased by a evil demented horse.
5 they isn't a good variation of high paid and low paid jobs. I've worked in Bradford in a few different jobs and it's always minimum wage. Somebody I used to work with from Bradford had a saying that I can't get out of my head if you've got money and live in Bradford you don't work in Bradford you work in leeds.

20 years ago I was walking past a mosque coming home from the cinema with 2 friends through Bradford and a group of men came out of the mosque and put a knife to my throat and told us to never come back to the area again. Anecdotal, but there it is.

I grew up in Bradford and it's always had these problems but it has got a lot worse. Bradford's Heroin problem is well over 20 years old and and grooming gangs have always been there. Sorry but the government has been far too soft and the city has paid an expensive price for it. I moved out 16 years ago and when I go to visit the decline is shocking.

I love that we have people like you that are not afraid to say what they think. Bradford was once a vibrant city with some amazing architecture, but now spoilt by the confused muslim youths. They do not know whether they are British or Pakistani first, always in gangs, no respect for the Police, many dealing drugs, violent, but still happy to pray to their god. I used to live in Pudsey a borough of Leeds around 3 miles away from Bradford, but sadly not far enough, so we moved to NZ. I would turn down a lottery win or even the fountain of youth rather than living in Bradford. Keep up your journalism, we are sick of the BBC bullshit.
