They don't explain this but a rate one turn is indicated on the turn coordinator when the wing is aligned with the bottom line in the direction of the turn and the ball is centered. Having taken some basic ifr training as part of my cpl this is basically the same as real life training.
I just got my Honeycomb Alpha yoke and Bravo throttle Quadrant a couple of weeks ago. Finally starting to get the settings how I want them, but always looking for better binds for those 7 switches on the Bravo that are beneath the auto pilot control panel and by default most of them were duplicate binds to what the switches on the Yoke were bound to. So those are still evolving as I start getting better at flying this sim. Bought it when it first came out but ended up having to postpone getting into flying it right after I had upgraded my PC and graphics card so my PC could better handle flying in VR. I started looking on the forums thinking there should be some very good free training out there, but haven't got far yet as I just started looking into this. The Academy seems like a pretty good way to go, not overly expensive.
Thanks for watching. I haven’t set any binds for those buttons yet. I find them in a awkward spot on the bravo so haven’t really messed with them. These courses are fun and I’m learning a lot and for the price I think it’s worth it.
@@TennshadowGaming Thank you for the info and your view about the training! I used those switches (got the ideas from a YT video for some) for things like Anti-Ice, pilot heat, fuel pumps etc all just on/off type switches so they're not needed to be used a lot just flip them on or off etc. In VR it's a little bit of learning muscle memory when it comes to finding them but I can peak if needed. Thanks for posting your video the training does look good! You got a new subscriber for your channel 👍
Thanks so much for watching. For those shots I’m using my Xbox controller in Drone camera mode. Some times those are taken when using a flight reply program and others are live while flying.
So, is it MS Flight sim that is giving you this lesson? I am about to invest in a sim for my IFR training as well, and I was wondering how you got these Instructions from the game? Is it a feature in MS Flight Sim?
Is this worth buying for someone who wants to have a life like learn to fly experience? I always thought the marketplace mods were overpriced, but its on sale for £11 right now.
Strange. I finished that Basic IFR lesson, but it is not ending. I push the ESC button but nothing.. When I return back to main menu and then again to IFR lesson but I see that %0 completed. Any idea?
Something came up at work after I posted lesson 1 and I have not had time in the past two weeks to do any simming. I was hoping to release at least one video a week but have not been able to. Things are finally calming down at work so I “should” be able to get some videos out this week. I will try to release lesson 2 and 3 since I’m behind on the schedule I wanted to keep. Sorry about that!

The instructor voice level is jarring. Couldn’t they make it sound like he’s actually onboard the aircraft with you with a simple headphone voice simulation? I was going to buy it until I watched this video and heard the instructor’s voice. It is unrealistic
Yeah the instructor and ATC communications included with the lessons is very loud. I just went into the settings menu and turned down voices while doing these and the other series by the same creator. Honestly these are generally so good it's worth the inconvenience. You should still grab them if you're bored. Jetliner and Commander are my two favorites. Lot of fun. The Jetliner one for example, is a good resource for people who might not know how to fly approaches and ILS into the bigger airports. Something MSFS itself doesn't teach anything about.
I love these videos man really helpful. Easier to concentrate when someone else is panicking. Thanks again
😆 I'm glad my panicking is helpful! This stuff can be stressful. 😉

go here, go there, do this, do that...when do you put in the frequencies and watch on the gauges if youre left or right?

So you bought the IFR pack? Time to watch another set of videos. Love this stuff!
Thanks!
Don't use trim whilst in a turn, as forces are changing continually. Only trim out the pressures once leveled out.
Thanks for the tip!
I would disagree, it's much easier to maintain altitude and speed when practicing rate one turns when the airplane is trimmed. Especially when in imc.
Love your videos! I've a question: how do you smoothly pan your view left and right without losing contact with the yoke? Mouse? or some other magic?
Thanks so much for watching. For those shots I’m using my Xbox controller in Drone camera mode. Some times those are taken when using a flight reply program and others are live while flying.

This is a payware program that is not part of the sim called FS Academy IFR.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing so I won't be totally lost when I'm paying 300 an hour.

It's worth it at those sale prices for sure!
@@TennshadowGaming Is there any package you would reccommend first? VFR first?
@@OneTwoMark VFR, Navigator, then IFR
@@TennshadowGaming Thanks :)
What is the difference between this and the one in the game??? Thanks! Which buttons and screen to look at???
I have never used the in-game training so I'm not really sure.

As far I know, they don’t use the percent completed feature for any of their lessons. The newest Jetliner series I’m doing is always at 0 as well.
@@TennshadowGaming thanks for quick reply. :)
When you will continue IFR lessons? I'm stuck in IFR lesson 03. VOR/NDB ANALOG!

I just wanted to let you know I’m recording videos today and will have a couple posted on Sunday. Thanks for your patience.
@@TennshadowGaming Good to know, I will waiting your new videos!!! Great sunday for U!
Could you or have you done a video on mapping the key binds for the alpha bravo yoke and throttle quadrant for mfs2020??
Hey there! There is already a really good video out there for the Bravo. Check it out.

Great presentation. One comment....Your instruments were a little dark to see clearly, otherwise great video. Thanks
Just flew this tutorial... your weather is better than mine The clouds were at 2000 - 5000 ft. There was nothing to see!
I bought and installed it and now where do I go to start the training? I don't know where to access it in sim. Please help.
It’s under Bush Trips
Restrict your view inside the cockpit because it is an IFR lesson
Hope this is not a silly question but where do I find the ms community folder?

Why do your ATC voices sound actually real?
I wish In game ATC sounded like that. :-) Those voices are part of the FS Academy package.
Verry COOOL man
Thanks!
