I really like Dylan. I found his videos years ago and I was just blown away by his speed and coordination while doing those crazy stick tricks. That's not the best performance I've seen from him though. He has a few other videos where his use of dynamic playing is on display rather than just playing super hard and heavy. He has tons of room for improvement but the guy has some serious chops already. I was one of the people that asked for your reaction. I enjoyed the video but I was hoping for a little more of a breakdown on his playing. I guess there wasn't really much to say about that particular solo though. Thanks Gary. I love watching your channel my friend. Good stuff 👍

He was a busker in my home town from he was 16-19
When I first saw him ,a gave him $50 then went home and threw my drum stick away .
but he opened my eyes to what he was doing that I had never seen before in real life

What a fantastic performance by Dylan. This is the first time I have heard of him and thank you for doing this reaction on this solo. I was laughing by the end ot it with those stick twirls. Amazing. Thank You for the help on the heel down on the hats vs heel up. I have found that when I am playing heel up on the hats and heel up on the kick I feel that is is tough to maintain balance. I will utilize more heel down on the hats in my solos. Thanks Garey

Funny, I just happened to see that drummer playing at the wrong gig and he was fire. But on the other hand he was playing a ZZ Top tune which I, and therefor certainly you, could play with one hand. But Dylan was playing something far more complex then that. He has a solo from a contest he was in when he was much younger, it is far better then the solo you showed. I'll drop a link in the next comment. It makes me sad that a drummer like him seems to have dropped out of the scene.

Dylan is quite possibly the most talented drummer I have ever seen! His speed, sense of timing, and control are equal to Buddy Rich - if not better! Been watching him since the days when he set his kit up on the streets! He is amazing! Watch his video on his hi-hat solo.

People are asking you to do a reaction on yourself? That kind of defeats the purpose of what a reaction video is intended for. What they want is a break down or self critique of your playing. Reaction videos are supposed to be first time viewings or at least not having viewed in a very long time, so long that you don't really remember what you saw. Now granted, there are many people who will admit their reactions aren't 1st time viewings. And if we're being perfectly honest, I would say the vast majority of so called 1st time viewings are all bullshit, and their just playing movies that are most requested by fans. This insures that they get a good number on their patrion accounts. Which means we have a lot of good "actors" here on RUclips. But it is what it is.

technically perfect and mesmerising but along with many other drummers of his type (Thomas lang anyone) lacks any soul … these guys fall into the 'hey look what I can do .. I bet you cant do what I can' .. this guy is great at analysing solos but never seems to say anything about whether they are informative or if anyone can learn from them especially novices … theres been a fad for a number of years now for newer players to be as technical as possible and basically blowing their wad in 5 minutes .. yes Id love to see dylan and lang etc but after 10 minutes I would be at the bar having a drink

This guy is one guy whose solos should be everywhere. Know why they’re not, he’s in a jazz/funk band and doesn’t overshadow his band mates but one song they let him solo. So he has feel and pocket. He does this stuff because people ask him to

DylanElise I play in a singer songwriter band. Always play shuffles and easy blues grooves. Every show though I get 3 min to myself, many times people ask me why I play in the type of band I play in. It’s because I enjoy it. I can shred for hours, but hitting the pocket with my band mates is something that soloing doesn’t hit. That doesn’t mean I don’t like the showing off part a tad 😎

I have never seen another drummer do the “stick twirls” not to mention play at the speed that Dylan plays at! I’m not a Professional Drummer, however, the only drummer that I have EVER HEARD that I would compare to Dylan is Buddy Rich! Maybe I’m wrong, but to me, Dylan and Buddy are at the Top of the Pyramid! What do you think?
