Loved both your reactions! This is tap dancing at its best. I took 6 years of tap dancing, but can't do anything like these two! Peace from Northern Michigan.
This is from a movie called Stormy Weather. It had an all black cast. This was made in 1943 and segregation was strong. Black musicians couldn't eat or sleep in white casinos or hotels where they performed. There are no modern dancers who can dance like the Nicholas brothers. They were and are in a category of their own.
Fred Astaire told the brothers that the “Jumpin' Jive” number in Stormy Weather was the greatest number he had ever seen on film. He would have been more impressed had he known that the choreography was filmed all in one take.
The Nicolas Brothers were TAP Dancers Vaudeville Stars, Cab Calloway and his Orchestra were Swing Musicians with some Jazz Blues . Calloway was famous for his improvised Scatting ,SCAT was vocalizing with made up sounds to create a new fun instrument. The were huge stars in Dance Orchestra. They were all Hep Cats ☮️
GREAT REACTION!!! :) ♥♥♥ 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
I’m an old white woman and Cab Calloway was one of her favorite along with Louis Armstrong,Sarah Vaughan, among so many others . Big Band with St Louis Blues was the soundtrack of my childhood. Do yourself a solid and look up Louis Armstrong singing with Ella Fitzgerald 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
No it didn't bring people together they had laws to keep us away from them but no laws to keep them away from us everywhere in America 😊 there's lots more cool history please check out more 👍
The co-hostess is half-right. Rock and roll was basically a musical melting pot. And the main ingredient (most historians seem to agree) was a fusion of jazz, swing, and rhythm and blues.

Is it on Netflix the movie
The minority population couldn’t even go in through the front door of the places they were selling out the house at.
@@ToxicCouple-Alg-Ua No. Only Prime Video as far as streaming goes, and even there you have to buy or rent
Their granddaughters can. The Nicholas Sisters! Google them if you don't believe me.
It's on YT for free.@@ToxicCouple-Alg-Ua
If you want more of this then check out The Berry Brothers. They were also doing moves in the 1930s that no one had ever seen before.
Thank u ❤️❤️

Fred Astaire who considered the best dancer of the time stated this was the best performance ever. Cab Calloway was the singer. He was a jazz singer.

I don’t know much about this brother truth I don’t know anything about
It's got some more good songs. Fats Waller - Ain't Misbehavin'. Seriously good. Movie as such hasn't got any plot at all though.

The best recorded dance scene in history! Another reason why they attempt to erase black achievement / history as the fear what they try to destroy!
