To maybe save others some headaches ... there is a 120 Hz Crucible Mode which you also need to enable under "Settings --> Video" in D2 ...

Why are you messed up by many sub-pages? You always read on this monitor that it scaled down 4k to 1440p. But you said that the monitor runs in 1080p only :(

@@JD-dm1uj that was a stupid question sorry, I thought you had the LG gn850, which is the same price range of the ex2780q. Based on your experience would you recommend this benq for fps games and also games with nice graphics? And what would you choose between the gn850 and this benq? I would like to buy one of these two monitors for the ps5, because there are only a few monitors that downscale and upscale in a good way and that are really compatible with everything on the console, and I read that these two are the best in their range, but I really can't decide which one to pick
@@Drixen i would recommend the BenQ, it has a beautiful display, a very handy remote and actually damn good audio for what it is, it’s an all around excellent monitor.
@@JD-dm1uj it has 5ms response time if I'm not wrong, do you see or feel any difference while gaming compared to the 1ms of the LG? Can you also tell me if on this benq you can see any ghosting?
I have this same exact monitor and didn’t know this would upscale the ps5 to 1440p whilst running at 120hz.
He said the first 2 games were running 1080p at 120 Hz with HDR. Can't do 1440 p at 120 Hz. Warzone was running 4K/1440 p with HDR at 60hz. You have to pick resolution vs refresh rate. At least that was my interpretation

more like downscales 4k to 1440p for 60hz at least.
@@desirewithinus yes it takes the 4k Signal and displays native 1440p but in 60hz because the ps5 sends an 4k@60hz signal

Ex2780q. Just received it today and it's perfect.
Kind of late, but for the ps5 2780q. The ps5 can't do 165hz. And with this monitor, til sony releases a firmware update, 1440p isnt feasible.

On LG Oled it goes to 4K 120hz since it is 2.1 hdmi compatible. Or you can choose -1 on hdmi setting for 1080p120hz which is upscaled to 4K anyways.
They should make smaller 4k tvs like this
your resolution went to 1080p not 1440p. it must be on 4k. Can you put resolution on 4k and performance

Great video! I got an LG gl850 but when I turn on hdr on ps5 the screen is dim and colors are washed out. So I'm thinking of getting the BenQ monitor, does hdr work fine on this monitor with the ps5?

At 27” 4K is pointless and thus why your not seeing a difference. Move up to 55-65 and 4K shines.
That's what I was wondering if 4k vs 1440p is really a noticible difference with a small screen since pixel density is so high. That's the only thing this monitor is lacking is its not 4k
Why does HDR not allow you to change the black level? HDR is unplayable on warzone IMO. I am using user mode with my own settings and the color seems so washed out. What am I doing wrong?

I use the 32" EW3280U for console gaming all the time, simply because it's a bigger size and 4k60 works great for me.

Although ps5 doesnt natively support 1440p support but 3-4 days ago Cod warzone added 1440p for ps5 specifically at 120hz at their texture pack 5 Can you please confirm this whether 1440p 120z hz on warzone at ps5, or whether there is any blurriness or whether it's actually 1440p 120hz at hdmi 2.0 on ps5? I will be awaiting a video and will be very thankful if you cover that as soon as possible as I am only waiting for this approval

Just to clarify, can you get 1440p monitor with 144hz and still play on 120 fps on PS5 and scaled down to 1080p?
Yes, I mentioned that in the video, but not every 144hz monitor does 120hz, so far this BenQ works good and Viewsonic XG270QC.

I bought the LG 27GL850 and when I turn on the HDR the screen is washed out and dim. I've troubleshooted for almost 2 days. I'm gonna buy the BenQ now.. Just wanted to know if the HDR turn on properly and screen doesn't go dim? Thanks!
Also after the update I think there's no automatic option for HDR there's always on and on when supported, I hope the HDR still works?

Hey man, I’m also having that BENQ2780Q monitor and just got the PS5… but can’t really adjust the 120 MHz thing. What HDMI cable do you use? I’m trying with the default cable which was in the PS5 box. Any advice ?
Use the one that came with ps5. Go screen and video and goto enable 120hz output, note some games have the 120hz options on the ingame menus also so set that on them. Very few games support 120hz so it won't work on most games. Call of duty runs 120hz destiny 2 crucible is 120hz but most ps5 games are 60fps

Monitor is way better. Response time is way faster

Yes it upscales to 1440p, it looks very sharp and it runs great.

A mi me da problemas la x900h en el modo mejorado y PS5 a traves de una barra de sonido Samsung. A veces no se oye y tengo que cambiar el modo a Dolby Vision. A ver si van mejorando con actualizaciones. Saludos desde España.

Yes but at 1080p, PS5 doesn't support 1440p resolution.
Hi Joelster im struggling to calibrate the monitor color and brightness settings for hdr. Could you share your settings on the OSD for the monitor?
I’m considering getting this monitor but am hearing that it’s really dark on games at times, people say that the contrast is really dark, is this a problem or is the contrast fine.
Do not use hdr just turn it off games look better on these monitors without hdr. If you want good hdr you probably better off with a tv.

is it a good hdr monitor?? because for hdr need at least 600nist brighness but this monitor brightness is 350. is the hdr good with this monitor???
Yes it is good, the monitor is rated at 400 and sometimes goes up to 430nits in HDR, it gets very bright.

The minimum is 400 nits for the 1. Hdr certification

With this monitor, you'll get 120hz at 1080p. Until sony upgrades the firmware to allow 1440p.

It Depends. If you selected 4k@60hz it downscales to 1440p@60hz but if you select 1080p@60hz it is 1080p@60hz

@@jonawirth901 oh You mean tricking the ps5 in to showing from 1440p monitor to 4K signal to then downscale back to 1440p. Soooo it doesn’t support it 1440p native and you have to manipulate the ps5 to achieve a second hand display. Sounds worth it. To be honest I have both series X and ps5 I leave the ps5 on the 4K tv it gets used a little not much though.
Do you think a 5 ms response time is quick enough for first person shooters like COD, Battlefield? I am currently using a 2ms TN panel. Not sure if I would notice much of a difference. Thanks
Nope.. your eye and hand reaction will never know the difference in even 10 milliseconds.. it would work exactly the same to you ✌🏻🤟🏻👊🏻
@@JC-ph9vr Thanks. That's what I gather researching. A few people swear by 1ms but videos showing 1-2ms vs 4-5 ms seem similar. Coming from a 15-20 ms TV to my monitor I could tell. I'm decent at first person shooters but it's not my day job. The color on my TN panel is so washed out and if not losing much in response times the color of these high end IPS panels look incredible.
@@chiefnakoma most of the time you have to run the monitor on the highest settings to achieve 1ms.. to manufacturer calls it something else in their menus.. so they can put it on the box. so unless you're using those settings most monitors run 2.5 to 5.5ms anyway. So this monitor fits right in at 5ms with features enabled👍🏻
@@JC-ph9vr Thanks. Yeah I noticed a similar spec LGGL850 (144hz, 1440p, HDR) says 1 ms, but testers found it around 4.7 sec.

When you clicked on Screen and Video Information it said 4K 60. Does it not say 1080P 120hz when using this monitor?
This monitor can take 4k@60hz Signals from the ps5 and downscales it to Real 1440p with 60hz

@@Kapono5150 Because i have no Hobbys and i wach videos about tech al the day. So the monitor sends to the ps5 that he is a 4k monitor. Then the you can enable 4k on the ps5 Although it is not a 4k monitor. At last the monitor get's the 4k@60hz Signal and downscales it to 1440p@60hz. If the ps5 would Support 1440p we would be alle to play 1440p@120hz since the ps5 has the power. The only thing Sony must do is to unlock that on the ps5

@@crisp_noodle3326 yes, I got it to work yesterday. I set my PS5 to output 2160p fixed not automatic. HDR is on, and Performance Mode. In the Monitor Settings you can’t change anything, but HDRi is in on game mode. Now the monitor gets 1080p with 120hz and it looks good!

This Monitor was straight garbage. just got it & send it back real fucking quick. colors were straight ass like White/Grayed the fuck out ass. even with some tunning i just couldn't get rid of the grey/white look of the display. Don't even get me started with thee ips glow smh. I know its very common bc its a ips display no shit but still its so annoying trying to be a gamer at night. My 2015 1080pTV looks better than this shit. #BUYERBEWARE
Sorry to hear that, I've been using it for over a year and it works flawlessly it does have the ips glow but no other issue.
