I use just a bit of salt or garlic salt inside my dried tomato chips containers to keep them dried. Also, I dehydrate both sweet onions and green peppers along with my tomatoes (i use both powdered ranch and garlic salt to season them before putting them into the dehydrator) and grind them up altogether, it is absolutely amazing this way!

Great video. The powder makes a great hot drink! 1 cup of hot water with 1 Tbsp of the powder makes a really good nutritious drink or add a little cream and you got a good soup!

You had me at "tastes like pizza." Hello, my name is Kevin, and I'm a pizzaholic. :-) Since I try to stick to a whole food plant based dietary lifestyle without added refined sugar, oil, or salt, I don't eat pizza often. But it is one of the few things I allow myself the occasional break from my dietary lifestyle for.
I should have paid more attention to your Cosori videos. For some reason, I thought it was like many of the other "stainless steel" dehydrators I had looked at and had chrome plated trays instead of stainless steel trays. I just recently splurged on an STX Dehydra stainless steel dehydrator. I'm about to break it in with some mushrooms. I really want to try mushroom powder.
If you toss mayo ingredients into a mason jar, you can make mayo in about thirty seconds with an immersion blender. I used to make avocado oil mayo occasionally when I was at the other end of the dietary lifestyle spectrum embracing a low carb carnivore dietary lifestyle. Even if only making it occasionally, I loved having control over the ingredients going into it.

I am so loving dehydrated tomatoes. I tend to look in the fridge or freezer to see what needs to be used up and whip up a meal. Tonight I softened the tomato slices in boiling water. Sliced up the handful of yellow beans (all I had), sliced onion, garlic. Had a bit of crab legs in the freezer so demeated that. Sautéed beans, onions, garlic, threw tomatoe slices in and put the pasta in the tomato water, season with red pepper flakes, oregano and fresh basil. A glob of better than boullon chicken flavor. Some pasta water to veggies then the flaked crab meat. Strained pasta directly to the pan and some Italian blend cheese and done. The softened tomato’s gave a more intense flavor. I’m so glad to have found your channel!

Just want to say thanks Darcy for this great and so simple video tip...it looked good so I tried it out as soon as I got your notification. I normaly do the halved cherry/cocktail tomatoes which, being thicker pieces, it always gives me worries about whether they are dried through enough as they remain leathery to the touch! These ready to use, ready seasoned with herbs chips in slices never occurred to me before...they are super delicious and so much easier and faster to dehydrate with perfect results every time (being big tomato and pizza lovers, I've done three loads already 🍕🌞🍕. I use the Roma variety for their sweet taste and less pips 🌞 thanks again for sharing another great idea.

I have wanted a dehydrator for over a year but I couldn't justify spending any of my savings. I researched usage and purpose a lot and I came to the conclusion that it could really help me with my health. I've had all but one metre of my intestine left removed as I've had many surgeries to remove sections that were blocked as I have a severe form of Crohns disease and many boring other life threatening illnesses and complications. That combined with also have an aspergers trait of food texture dislikes I have a real use as opposed to other kitchen gadgets I have.
I'm not known to be concise sorry. One other trait I have is that if I don't say all the details I'm lying by omission. All that to say I used my new dehydrator for the first time this weekend and thanks to you and your amazing videos I made dehydrated pineapple and granny smith apples. My Dad (Mum passed Boxing Day 2020 so I live with my Dad and we look after each other) ate it all in a few days. I'm going to try the chips with the nutritional yeast, sounds so good! Anyway, I froze a bunch of quartered Romas and other tomatoes. I pulled them out as I had time to roast them and make a roasted tomato garlic jam I saw someone make on RUclips. As I checked on them the skins were separating and tough from freezing, I imagine. So, I took them all off and put them on my dehydrator because I'd seen someone else do this with blanched tomato skins. The jam came out great, and the skins dried really well. I put the skins in a coffee grinder I use for spices and powdered them. I wondered if they would just end up being an un-flavorful gritty addition to whatever I added them to, but it turned out the were delicious, I added them to dips, chili, stews and not sure what else but everything had a deeper more complex flavor. I will never throw out tomato skins again when I blanch or freeze them! I wonder if this will work with peppers too.... hmmm.

Hi Darcy , i have learned so much from your videos, you explain things very easy to understand! What size absorbers do you use ? I looked on Amazon and there are different grams. Please tell me what size would be best for anything you do . Thanks again for your videos very much appreciated in these times .

I use 5 gram moisture absorbers because then I don't have to think about it. :D I don't use O2 absorbers at all.

Add a little garlic. lol That was a lot. I'm doing the same with all my tomatoes and peppers from the garden. Much easier than canning. 👍
