Hear me out, Planet side 2 but in the Star Wars Universe with modern graphics, modern mechanics, better gun handling.... Just bringing Planet Side 2 to a modern standard. Imagine thousands of Players, ground and air forces... imagine maps several times larger than in Battlefront 2 and the players from 100 different lobbies in 1
I'd also love a single player version of this idea. Kind of like an open world FPS/RPG. A massive war is going on while you do your own thing, fight on the front lines, or help out with side quest that push the tide of the war, etc.

I honestly struggle to understand how small independent dev teams, mostly unpaid, somehow make better content then multi million dollar funded game projects.
Glad to see this game is getting the recognition it deserves. I actually got the amazing opportunity to work on it a bit but haven’t done as much as I’d like due to time constraints. For reference I worked on the DP-23 shotgun model but I’m unsure if they have implemented that or not or if they ever will. I also got to help a bit recently with getting some stuff from SWRC. And that process is definitely not going to be easy. The main issue is that SWRC has a shit ton of materials on the game files for a shit ton of objects. It’s still a small amount compared to modern games but in order to port the stuff to this mod you need to go through and reassign all the textures to the proper materials, adjust the settings of all the materials to match the game, assign all the materials onto the correct models, and also go through and revamp the textures for this new look your accustomed to in the mod. Now previously with the BF2 2005 map this wasn’t as big of a problem because it was less than 100 materials per map and a much simpler material setup. Vs republic commando has thousands of materials and models to go through to get the final look. It definitely takes a lot to do and I honestly am impressed that the lead guy is doing it with how much there is to do. Edit: also for the stuff on the GC devs and what not the lead guy (Jay) was the original lead developer for GC but eventually left the project for reasons I’m not 100% sure on. After he left that he started work on this mod and he’s been doing it for a good bit now. It’s been nice seeing the progress from some clone textures all the way to porting all the maps. (To clarify I know that you said it was just some devs I just figured it would be interesting information to some)

Funny enough Jay lost access to his old account that made the server and because the developer role was above everything he wasn’t able to give me said role when I joined the project. So he gave me admin so I could talk in the dev chat. I might be more active in there at some point I don’t know. Really depends on how the school year goes and other projects I’m working on go.

It would be nice to have the option for movie accurate voice line for clones and droids. I mean Dee Bradley Baker is great clone VA but Temuera Morrison is my all time favorite clone VA and I can't really take the clone wars droid voice lines seriously.

probably not tbh, other star wars mods have done really well wihout much if any harassment, and a lot of fan projects for films have been left untouched. it’s still disney however so there is a chance
you know Battlefront 2 was actually solid but other than the Clones, customization was ASS also despite having solid gunplay, it felt very small which i felt was ultimately it's biggest weakness. that's what EA does
and if disney or lucas film for whatever reason decide to order a cease and desist cause they don't think the game is right for star wars then just remake the game to be it's own IP and literally sell that, cucking disney from the star wars battlefront fanbase
The best thing for the Star Wars community would be for Disney to stop producing garbage and recanonize the EU and retcon whatever Disney created and just leave the whole franchise tf alone.

@@ifoundmemallet3394 The mod will have you enter an IP into the game's game search. Mods will be automatically dowloaded and installed. As for importing voices and maps I dont think its such a big deal for the devs

you know Battlefront 2 was actually solid but other than the Clones, customization was ASS
also despite having solid gunplay, it felt very small which i felt was ultimately it's biggest weakness.

I have a small Geonosis demo too that never got any bad attention from Disney. I think it just depends on how big the project gets and if they think it will draw players away from official products

@@ifoundmemallet3394 The mod will have you enter an IP into the game's game search. Mods will be automatically dowloaded and installed. As for importing voices and maps I dont think its such a big deal for the devs
