Battlefront 2 is infinitely better than this lol. Had they kept working on it, and have original BF2 space battles and more traditional vehicle gameplay it'd definitely be better than GC too.
@@CommanderLongJohn i agree, Battlefront 2 (2005) is infinitely better than any of official games published by EA and Ubi.
@@Jackfromshack It definitely is, but I meant EA's Battlefront 2 is definitely better than this Insurgency mod, and had it have traditional BF2-2005 gameplay definitely better than Galactic Contention. But nah, we need points to spawn in vehicles and can't attack enemy ships from within in space 🥴
I think EA's logic was 'we don't wanna just make Battlefield Star Wars,' but that's literally what the original Star Wars Battlefront games were modeled after ffs, and what made them so great.
We have to get the GC community to play this on occasion, just to give some love where credit is due.

Disney doesn't understand that people want gritty, thematically specific Star Wars games like this, not a non-stop fountain of games that celebrate the casual appeal and fantasies people had about Star Wars 40 years ago.
How they managed create graphic this gorgeous in INSURGENCY SANDSTORM? IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER THEN THE BASE GAME
Ive been playing the past few days and got to say for a open beta this is amazing. Only thing is im not a fan of the Battlefront style weapon cooldown system instead of magazines however the maps and features this has already are amazing and everyone should give this mod a try if you have Sandstorm. Such a cool experience.
@nathanz7205 Same! I love the "Blaster clips" so much more than overheat. The blasters always had clips and magazines on them it's wierd that EA adopted that system. It's doesn't take me out of it at all though.
The lore for blasters is that most models only need to reload once every couple hundred shots or so. We certainly never see anyone reload in the films. So, reloading them frequently like they're regular guns doesn't feel right to me.
@@DecidedlyNinja lets take the dc-15a as example it can fire 500 shots without reloading but overheats occasionally.
@@Melon-ef8tq Both could be implemented. It could overheat but also reload after 200-500ish shots

I love how this comes out right when i have no money to get the game. But honestly its good we have this, just tells ya that star wars fans WILL NOT wait for someone to fix their broken mod/games *cough you know who I'm talking about*

When you marked the Geonosian statue for a minute I thought the orbital strike would destroy it. As sick as that would be, I doubt IS engine is built for that kind of dynamic interaction.

I just wish people weren’t so obsessed with the clone wars and would make more mods with just resistance and normal stormtroopers. They are both so much sicker in my opinion because it’s closer to WWII, which is what the original films based the majority of their ground and aerial combat on.

The only thing I don't like is your weapon overheating instead of having to reload it. I never liked that mechanic in the newer Battlefronts. It's just way cooler reloading the weapon, imo.

Insurgency Blandstorm really pi$$es me off, it is a great base for a solid shooter and the f dev's innovation is that of "2X Exp weekends" and some repetitive limited time voter based game modes that they could just have implemented fully into the game, then after negative feedback they introduce "3X Exp weekends" once or twice.............Modders are doing all the work making this game somewhat relevant, as displayed here, though you ideally need to be a Star Wars fan to jump out of your seat and play this, I am still waiting for the dev's to jump out of "THEIR" seats and actually implement some new features and content that this game is lacking in. Variety of maps that include situations in war not present in this game, expanded vehicular combat, improved AI, new regions and factions too maybe? How about the enemy call in reinforcements that have actually GOOD gear that make it more challenging for us? We always fighting against abdool and his Temu weapons

@@ctmarine9100 get a decent gaminglaptop, i run snadstorm on my delta 15 really smooth, i can run newest games aswell with smooth 120 fps. it cost me around 1,100 gs.

So basically what Star Wars Battlefront II should have been without the absolute S show that it was with every single OP hero from the series being crammed in making it unplayable for regular infantry or people late to the server without any server customisation to turn off heroes. This on the other hand looks gorgeous enough for me to buy Insurgency just for this mod.

Beside the civil war beeing my favourite timeline, I think Clone Wars Era gets far too stale, far too quick.
Like the whole point of Insurgency Sandstorm is that a well equiped Army fights, well, Insurgents. A guerilla war.
And thats perfectly fitting the whole story of Rebels and the Empire. Its basically perfect for this so it is really kinda sad to see, that its just another clone wars conversion mod, like for squad and all the others.

Like dont get me wrong, the clone wars are awesome in their own right, but its the only thing people can think to make now 😅galactic contention is so fun that I can look past the era, but i feel like the clone wars doesn't lend itself to the tactical playstyle as well as the civil war does IMO. overall tho, i gotta respect the effort put into these mods for no money at all
