  • Aerial views above some famous abandoned landmarks in Connecticut. Filmed with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro in 4K.
Music: Phaeleh - Numb (Original Mix)
First location: Connecticut State Hospital, Middletown, or Connecticut Valley Hospital. Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut is a public hospital operated by the state of Connecticut to treat people with mental illness. It was historically known as Connecticut General Hospital for the Insane.
Second location: Johnsonville Village, once a thriving mill community, then a Victorian Era tourist attraction, was an abandoned ghost town in East Haddam.
Third location: Cedarcrest Hospital, Newington. Cedarcrest Regional Hospital was a 128 bed state hospital located on the town lines of Newington and Wethersfield. It was closed in 2010.
Fourth location: Route 11, Salem. Route 11 originally was planned to be a freeway/expressway, running northwest-to-southeast, from Colchester to Waterford. However, only about half of the freeway was constructed; one end is in Salem
Fifth location: I-84 Stack, Farmington/West Hartford. The multi-stack highway interchange that towers over Interstate 84 in Farmington was part of transportation project that dates back to the 1960s. However, the project was never completed. Much of it is now off-limits, overgrown and tagged with graffiti.
Sixth location: Holy Land, Waterbury. is an 18-acre theme park inspired by selected passages from the Bible. It consists of a chapel, stations of the cross, and replicas of catacombs and Israelite villages constructed from cinder blocks, bathtubs, and other discards. The park closed to the public in 1984. Over its period of closure, the land and monuments faced the effects of vandalism.

Route 11 is just weird. They cut the whole trail. They built all the necessary bridges. They built a small part of the road just north of Salem. Then they ran out of money and never finished it. The Democrats keep talking about funding it but never do to finish it considering how close it came. We call it Route 5 1/2 - for half of Route 11. Same thing goes for the I-84 interchange except there they were fighting environmentalists. That was part of an interstate "loop" around Hartford fashioned after the one that loops around Boston - so traffic could go around the city. Suffice to say that was never finished and never will be.

Connecticut is such a horrible, depressing state, politicians here only want to keep destroying everything!
