Neil deGrasse Tyson Panicking Over Declassified Photos From Venus By The Soviet Union!

  • NASA has announced a new focus on Venus after a recent discovery of potential life on the planet. Back in the 1960s, if you looked at NASA's records, you'd find them referring to Venus as a "planet from hell." Around the same time, there was a race to explore space, and Mars became the main destination. This wasn't a coincidence. The Soviet Union was determined to send missions to Venus, even though it seemed like an inhospitable place for life. They kept going until the fall of the Empire.
    Neil deGrasse Tyson helped shed light on the Soviet missions to Venus. Now we get to explore declassified photos taken by the Soviet Union. When the Soviet Union fell, it not only changed the world's geopolitics but also buried many of its secrets. They were known for being secretive, running advanced intelligence agencies, and even hiding potential alien contact.

    • @jorgenskyt
      @jorgenskyt Год назад

      Ikke for at forklejne din oplevelse, men det er helt sikkert ikke selve Sputnik, du har set, da den var alt for lille til at kunne ses, selvom dens overflade var spejlblank: Fra en spejlblank kugleflade spredes lyset desværre alt for meget til, at den ville kunne ses.
      Derimod kunne det sagtens være det sidste trin, der bragte den i kredsløb og som var stort nok til, at det reflekterede lys fra solen kunne gøre den synlig på nattehimlen. Og alene dén oplevelse er fantastisk, da såvel Sputnik som rakettens sidste trin, var de første to menneskeskabte objekter, der var i kredsløb om jorden (så vidt vi ved, vil jeg gerne tilføje).
      Det er jo egentlig forkert, når Sputnik refereres til som det første menneskeskabte objekt i kredsløb om Jorden. Det var faktisk boosteren, forbundet til Sputnik, der var det første objekt. Hvorefter de (efter sigende) separeredes fra hinanden. Så Teknisk set var Sputnik det ANDET menneskeligt skabte objekt i kredsløb om Jorden 🙂

      Yeah they literally just overbuilt the hell out of it and let it freefall and crash land on the surface. The landers had a disk shaped air brake on the top and because of how thick the atmosphere is at the surface it was effective enough to cause them to impact with about the same velocity as being dropped from 10 feet at sea level on earth and a crush ring on the bottom absorbed the impact. This was done because they needed to get them through the atmosphere and onto the surface as quickly as possible to maximize operational time before they quit working due to the extreme conditions. They figured they'd have about 40 minutes on the surface before the electronics cooked to death but it turned out to actually be a bit longer than that. The pressure vessels were designed with advice from soviet submarine designers.

    I wish it were possible to know exactly how Venus ended up rotating slowly in the opposite direction. It was obviously some sort of huge cataclysm and I believe it was that and the "backward" spin which caused the heavy volcanic activity throughout the entire planet, thus creating the intense greenhouse effect that lead to it's extremely thick and toxic atmosphere. It's unfortunate, though, that the surface is so "new" in geological terms due to volcanoes/lava flows because whatever the surface was like millions or billions of years ago will more than likely be impossible to figure out. I firmly believe, as many scientists have stated, that Venus did in fact have liquid oceans and, just like Mars, Venus was very much like Earth at one time and may have very well harbored some form of life.

    • @mikekapral8677
      @mikekapral8677 Год назад +4

      Although it makes for a good story, it is unfortunately not true. Both agencies used specifically developed pens for use in space. The reason is pencil lead is actually graphite, and graphite is highly electrically conductive. Any tiny particles when writing would flake and become airborne which is extremely dangerous to have floating around your highly sensitive electronic instruments, not to mention a hazard to the astronauts themselves were it to be inhaled.

    An air craft could float through the atmosphere of Venus at an altitude of 50Km. Temperature and air pressure are close to that of the Earth. Also gravity is the same as the Earth. Only problem is you can't land there and survive. It would be like being on a planet covered completely by an ocean. You could get water and oxygen from the atmosphere. Who knows what else. Floating Venus stations. Sounds better than Mars, you just can't walk around on the surface.
