- This is the third video of my international airport named Beach Cities West International Airport (KBCW) and features a few changes and updates. There are also some new airlines providing service since the second video. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I still come back and watch this time to time. It was the video that got me into Gemini jets.

Your set up has impressed me the most with all the youtube videos. It seems to be regionally relevant (i take it you live in the U.S.) and looks like a real airport operation. Love it! I am currently collecting the models and terminals and going to set up relevant to my city airport( I live in Perth, Western Australia)or perhaps more like I would like it to be i.e. airliners and aircraft I wish came to Perth as well as the ones that do. I work for QF in Perth and worked in airport ops for 16 yrs
Hello and thanks for the feedback. It is plexiglass. Keeps dust down and makes cleaning easy. Also helps the cut and patched sections that are custom from looking too bad.
Thanks!! I too like NZ but my favorite.......hmmm that is tough. Favorite airline at my airport must be the VS 346 but my favorite model is probably the SQ 345 with the QF380 a close second. The Phoenix VA 77W is a fantastic model as well. I have close to 40 models and am extremely selective with brands, types and airlines at this point. The overall diorama is more important to me than each individual model. Thanks for watching. Glad to share it!!
I don't even know if the original terminal is still available down there. It is virtuall sold out here or very expensive. I am real pleased with the 24 wide body slots I have now including my remote parking. My buddy has even more with 5 of these segments providing 17 wide body slots at the main terminal!! Sheer madness indeed! Good luck with your efforts. Few people truly understand the time and planning involved.

Yeah it is GJ and I am pleased with it. I have modified the layout to fit my needs of course. One thing to remember about these models is many times the engines are not correct. As long as they look realistic I don't care too much. I am more concerned with the overall impact on the diorama not the perfection of the engines on each model. The Phoenix SQ 345 is rare and is tough to find in the revised livery. It can get pretty pricey. One of my favorites for sure!
Ambitious indeed! As one would need probably about 4000 square feet of space for a full replica of LAX in 400 scale, you have your work cut out for you. In 400 scale things get very large very fast! Too bad some of the carriers you list do not actually operate to the west coast as I find many of the color schemes to be fantastic.

See I collect the same way. With US reducing capacity at LAX and LAS were are starting to see many more CRJ9's. Very cool that you coolect what you see the most. I do the exact same. I have seen almost every model I own in person at LAS or LAX and at least the airline for sure.
Very cool. I am waiting on a 77W Cathay Pacific release in the regular scheme. It will certainly be purchased.

I do live in the Southwestern U.S. and really enjoy airport diaramas that are typical of actual airport operations both to view as well as my own. This video is a bit out dated at this point as tI have just completed rennovations adding an additional terminal segment providing 29 total gates at the main terminal in addition to the 10 at the remote facilcites as well as additional flights and carriers.

Sounds awesome! :)) I have always liked QF and Virgin Blue. I think airport with lots of variety make for better dioramas if they are large like mine as different replicas and liveries keep it quite interesting. I know what you mean about multiples. For example I have 5 Americans and 4 Southwest 73G's but I would never consider making a diorama of Phoenix, AZ or DFW due to the sheer magnitude of repeats needed for realism. Now Sydney would be awesome as it seems much of the world comes there!!

Your Alaska is a 400 series 737 and ZI agree the AA "One World" is indeed impressive. Nice Choices!

A332 will be hard to fill on that route for US if it is daily but I am sure they will adjust frequency to fit demand. Good luck to them. Would love to see a Cactus heavy even if only at full altitude en-route to NRT.
As far as the G4 M-8* great choice! Hope to see an AMR one in 1:400 eventually.

I am pleased with the quality. The CV 744 is nice indeed and highly detailed. The gear is nice as well and rolls. The only landing gear I do not care for is Herpa. As far as the engines they are decent. I have seen better and far worse. I have a World 744 Cargo AV 400 in the revised scheme en-route. I hope it is as nice as the CV jumbo. I think it is a nice choice.

You use multiple mat sections and then cut the second one to meet your needs. If you are not using something to cover the finished product it will not look very good. Plexiglass can be found in many places including Lowe's/ Home Depot ect. I does have to be attached in segments on the floor because the airport is too large to work on top of without being on top of it. There are other options as well-my buddy has five terminal segments and does not use the GJ mat at all but prints/ designs hisown
I am working on my QF and Virgin Blue collection first and multiples are definitely on my agenda. QF dominate the skies over here so I am considering a separate terminal for them. The new Gemini terminal release is what I am looking at for this. Somehow the remainder of the domestic operation will remain on the larger terminal with the international carriers. If I go along this line I would of preferred more wide bodied bays on the original terminal. It's all still on paper though

Nice! I have ordered the 744 EK Skycargo and this is my first AV400 model. I was considering the CV 744 at first but i thought i'd wait for my EK to arrive to see if AV400 makes good mould and are they highly detailed. Thanks for the info! Appreciate them. Ur airport's fantastic btw. Is tht the Gemini Jets'? And i spotted ur SQ A345. Is tht Phoenix? Its really rare!

Thanks US is adding a 321 as well and Southwest will add an additional 737-700 in the regular scheme as well as "Maryland One". 4 Southwest birds ought to do the trick!
You got it! Major rennovations underway. Will attempt to post a video within the next month or so. The airport will now have 29 gates at the main terminal and 10 at the remote with 6 heavy spots at the cargo!! :))

I collect more than one brand but only the highr quality manufacturers. You have to try it and see what you like. I prefer Phoenix and Gemini over the others. Herpa is third on my list.

I have a new cargo terminal now so the old one I am not using anymore. They can be made using printed layouts and wood (craft) boxes. The ramp lights were made by my buddy out of some craft items from Michael's
Place small items under the fuselage like tacks to position departures and arrivals.
Probably not going to add the new hangar. It is pretty pricey and I have nowhere to put it at the moment. Just added the Phoenix Korean Skyteam 772 as well as the Aviation 400 Cargolux 744F. These are both very nice models.

As soon as a 1:400 EK 777-21HLR is released it will be added. The others will need to start service to the west coast of the U.S. to be added to my airport. Saudi Arabian may be a possibility do to its occasional charter service.
AC, WS, QF, LA, SU, CZ , AF, HA, KL, PR, DL, WN, AA.....ect. have been added and or changed to more accurate equpiment types with multiples where reasonable and needed as there is never really enough gates for them all! I am in the process of making a new video and will hope to have it done and posted within the next month or so. Thanks for you feedback and for watching.

Awesome airport man! How long is your runway? I'm making a model airport with cardboard, and my runway would have to be about 170cm long if it's all to be to scale with my model planes, I can't make this long because I don't have that much cardboard and it wouldn't fit anywhere in my house.

the glass on the ramp makes the airport look like it just went through a rain shower beacuse of the reflection :)

Part of the attempt to by management to make US healthy and profitable again and where US is pulling back WN is filling in. DL seems to be increasing their presence at LAS and LAX as well. I believe before long US will be primarily midwest and east coast player. I hope they hang on I like them a lot. These are tough times for all carriers except Allegiant it seems.

It was made/built but I have a new one now that will be in the new video I make so will soon sell the two buildings in this video.

Great! yeah.. I've searched on ebay too and there are only about 2 sellers with that model atmost. And its REALLY pricey. Definitely would be anyone's favourite. Btw, in ur opinion, which model looks better, GJ's Etihad A330-200 or NWA's A330-300? I'm considering to get either 1 but find it hard to make a decision.

hey, i have a quick question. Im planning to buy the terminal and the mat set but i watched your video and you added a cargo terminal. My question is that where do you get that mat section for the cargo airplanes and for the cargo terminal? did you design it or dose it come with the whole set, or do you just order it????
