I'm watching 3 Sopranos reactors right now, and while i enjoy all of them, i would say you're my favorite of the three - you understand so quickly where it's going (which is hard in Season 1, since we don't know these characters yet), and are so invested in figuring out how each thing connects to everything else. As people who love the show, we love that. Great reactions!!
Aw thank you! I have to confess that I'm *actively* trying to keep up. There are so many complex characters interconnected, so talking it out with you all it's also super helpful!
Awesome reaction!! Johnny Sack, the guy Tony calls on for help here, is an underboss of one of the New York families, you'll see him again quite a bit. The ending here is one of the best in the series, the music fits very well
Vince Curatola is amazing as Johnny sack. His range is insane, the ability to qo from quietly menacing to rage filled outburst in a sentence or two is phenomenal
You were wondering if Tony’s speech to Junior was about the Roman Empire. Yes it was. The episode’s name “Pax Soprana” is a play on “Pax Romana” (Roman peace): Peace at home after making up with Carmella, peace with Junior with the Hesh deal.
I've seen several reactors doing the Sopranos. I came upon your channel, and after watching the first few, I must say you are very good at this. You pick up the subtleties quickly and you have a good grasp on the characters, which not everyone does so early in the series. Subscribed
I was listening, not watching, when you told Tony to stop “mealy mouthing” and I thought “wait, she hadn’t heard of that before… wait… I bet she’s saying that in a funny way!” so I rewound and watched and laughed to see how you delivered that in a funny way. 😂 Keep it up!
Great! This show has been on my watch list for years but I've never gotten around to it because there's too many shows on my backlog. This gave me the urge to finally start it. I'll be watching along with you! I'll start it after I finish Chernobyl which is an awesome show by the way, you should also react to it.
I love that you get uncomfortable at all the correct moments. Shows your grounded with good morals. Also that was the Paterson Falls the guy took flying lesson off of. It's a few miles from where I grew up. Foul smell.
Hi! I started to watched your reactions - loving it. Love the sense of humor and how much stuff you get and notice, really really great. When I watched 1st time I understood maybe 70% of things you're getting. Having watched the show maybe ~7 times already - this is one of my favourite episodes. Also, as it's already been said, one of the best endings in the show. Even gets me to listen one song of Xzibit :)
Chrishtopha!!! Grab tha gabagool its time for a Sopranos reaction! Oof madon' Season 1 is so frigging funny lol. "I don't even let anybody wag their finger in my face!"
@12:52 Sadly we all saw Dr. Melfi's body double. Not to sound creepy but i did the research. For uhhh scientific reasons and found out through interviews that it sadly wasn't really Dr. *Milf-i* :O
Side, side, side note: As I recall, the area of the college interviews was somewhat ambiguous, with them only hinting at the general area. I know you pointed out the sign for Maine lobster, but such a sign could be found pretty much anywhere along the coast North of NYC and in the interior of the New England area. 🙂👍
When it comes to the Mafia world, the five families of New York are the biggest and most powerful. The North Jersey family is small compared to them. So Tony pretty much called in the big guns to mediate the issue with Hesh. Johnny Sack is his point of contact. Btw, you get plus points for using the DiMeo name. Old Man DiMeo is serving a life sentence. It's mentioned so briefly, most reactors miss it.
Hey sweetheart, how are you doing You’ve got yourself a new subscriber. Because of the fact that you are reacting to one of the greatest television shows of all time. And the Sopranos is my shit like I worship the shit out of the show. I’ve re-watched it countless times. This show really open the floodgates for the golden age of television.
"...hard to continue liking him..." At some point you're gonna need to face the fact that there's nobody truly likeable on this show. That's part of the reason this was the show that broke the traditional TV mold and led to everything we've seen since.
Bobby remained really likeable and I still liked Tony even though he was very flawed. He was a good leader with a few hiccups here and there lol. Silvio was likeable too for his loyalty to Tony. You're right though nobody's perfect and some are way worse than others
You're good at this. I can't be the only person to say WATCH THE WIRE. It's the only show that can compete. Subjectively I think Madmen can but objectively only The Wire.
It bothers me because Father Intintola is a manipulative weirdo. Keep watching! You'll see that I actually root for Carmela to have an affair in later episodes! Just not with that priestly schmuck
Tony Soprano is rash, emotional and easy to anger, arbitrary, most certainly like all his "family" sociopathic, at the moment can feel the world owes him and he owns the world, he is a cheater and liar. He is most certainly, from conventional standpoint of "likeable" characters, not likeable at all.
But being likeable has little to do with morality or virtue. It's about charisma, and thanks to the writing and Gandolfini's portrayal Tony has truckloads of that.
@@every-ist6222 yes, nowadays, with how modern TV evolved thank to shows like Sopranos and Tony Soprano, that why I've mentioned "convetional standpoint", which doesn't account for "charisma" or whatever, just likeable your "typical" trope good guy against bad guys, or bad guy struggling to be bad and actually kinda good. None of this is in here.
Notice how right after Boss is written under Juniors name, you see Tony’s picture. A little detail that adds to the scene.

Oh nice, thanks for filling me in on Johnny!!
Probably my second favorite character under Tony of course
@@CristyReacts It's Johnny Sacramone, but "sack" for a nickname. All Mafia guys have nicknames.
Def one of my favorite characters.. we need to be careful of spoilers tho..

Edie Falco has said that scene by the pool at the end was her favorite to film in the entire series
It' honestly such a great scene. Carmela looked gorgeous too.

The dialogue in this show ...top notch.
Fun to catch a reaction from someone with such analytical clarity. Thanks -

Haha!! Yeah because I learned it in the previous episode!
You have great reactions and I love the way it’s edited! Second others who have suggested a Patreon with full reactions

"Is this about the Roman Empire"
I actually busted out laughing IRL
Hahahahaha well... men have been thinking about the Roman Empire since the Roman Empire. Including Tony!
Great explanations & your observations are spot on, It's been a while since I seen this and am enjoying it and you, immensly!
Aw thank you! I really appreciate you watching along:)

Tony was kind to hesh giving back his 50k. I don't mind Mikey palmice,he's junior's consigliere
The title refers to Pax Romana, a period in Roman history of relative peace.
Ohhh interesting-- I was wondering. Thanks for telling me:)
Holy smokes. This girl is gorgeous!

Hahaha feel free to quote me! lol
Damn you are SHArP! Love it!!
Anytime I see or hear the word “cannoli”, I hear her voice say “Tony’s Cannoli’s” in my head… it’s etched in my head forever haha 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

@@kylethompson3008 Bobby might be the only exception, but he ended up being too likeable for Tony, but that's still several seasons away.
I believe the reason dr melfi deals with Tony is because he reminds her of her younger self when she was married to Henry hill
Good reaction

You should try Notting Hill. Julia Roberts and Hugh grant
your sopranos reactions are funny ...
Mealy-mouthing! Nice callback

Ooo maron

Tony did a thing!
14:17 You get second hand embarrassment so bad, its cute.
Haha i really do!! I couldn't believe he was confessing his feelings. It was wild.
The relationship between Carmela and the father bothers her, but Tony cheating on Carmela doesn't even raise an eyebrow. Interesting.
