- It’s been a long time coming-this console table is my first foray into forged furniture. For some reason furniture and furniture design has always felt like home to me, I enjoy the challenge of innovation within the gentle confines functional furnishings. I took up forging about 3 years ago in the hopes that it would give me yet another unique medium I could incorporate into my work.

"I'm just going to sand this and put some finish on it, because it's wood." LOL! Perfect!
Looks super rad.... miss seeing ZH uploads!!
Awesome to see a video from you again!
Missed your videos sir. Hopefully the algorithm lets this free to the masses!
Thanks!
Yeah, I've been trickling out a few videos, but YT doesn't seem to be notifying my subscribers anymore :(
That boiled linseed oil was such a good oil. Never said a bad thing about any other oils. Will be missed.
I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to become a maker again. After I saw your sconce video a few years ago it gave me the desire to get back into building. I’m now self employed and doing well. Thanks Zach!
This is so good to hear. RUclips has been pretty rough for me the past year or so--so much so that I sometimes debate whether or not it's actually worth my investment of time. Hearing stuff like this makes it worth it :)
You are the reason RUclips is worth it. Keep grinding brother! I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for that video!
I like Ashley's video style! Also cool table
Incredible project music and linseed oil
I like the new style on the video. Great work
Thank you!
Nicely done sir.
Came out awesome!! Nobody can pass up some nice ash 😅 great video
Most excellent!!! Love the sil/bronze accents. New digs are looking like they are working out well.
Great video. Table is a beauty. That bronze detail is super creative. Ashley needs to sneak some new oil back into that old tin. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Loved this so much I came back for a second watch since I get to see it in person on Friday night. Loved the new style of video.
Such a beautiful piece. Love it!
SUPER JOB!!!!
Awesome table!
Ashley make a greate work too!
For sure!
awesome project! Just a videography tip for Ashely, I would suggest using a tripod for certain shots. Shooting everything handheld without a gimbal creates a lot of micro jitters.
Excellent work and THANK YOU for not opting for the current trend of adding epoxy to your project. I hate the stuff. I wish it would go away.
That looks great
Love the music, love the editing, love the videos. Glad to see another great video
Beautiful project and great editing.
That was a great project! The edit was so fun too.
Great work Zach!!! Its beautiful!
well done
The epoxy and wood movement bits had me 😂😂.
Came out great Zach. Keep up the awesome work!
This is awesome man! Well done.
That's a sharp looking table. Great work! I have an ash slab I need to do something with at some point.
Love this project! Fantastic work man!
That turned out very unique and beautiful. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend forge on. Keep making.
Will do, Thank you!
I feel like I have to say the table is not going to explode and kill your family due to wood movement, it really looks more like the type to lurk around corners and mug strangers... Great job, I love the texture of forged steel
So glad to see new material, Zach! You’re one of the best creators on the RUclips. On a par with Casey Neistat, if you’re familiar with him. Whole different content, but super creative.
Wow. That’s talent. Something like that is a lot harder to make than you’d think especially forging it and getter the four legs to look the same. Way to go bro. Gotta day you have tons of talent. Thanks for the video. Hope to see more more otter but I understand if your busy. Craftsmen usually are.
Well, it certainly helps if you do all the forging and then take it to the bandsaw to chop everything to the same length. If you'd like to see someone that forges metal TO the right length, check out Mark Aspery.
I hear you 1001 little projects in the way. I always have enjoyed all your content your Nicholson workbench got me hooked to start with.
I absolutely love this. The pictures and video don’t do this table justice - it’s even more ridiculous in person! You killed this.
Nice one whit te epoxy👌 Great work thanks for sharing
Thank you! Very elegant and simple.. respect!! :)
Awesome Table Build Brother, Great Video Too!
Nice job brother! Looks great and I love this new video style so much!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
That table looks amazing Zach, and the Video is funny as hell 🤣
Great video and great to see you back again. Love your music and great use of the epoxy too! I hope you don’t mind me mentioning that at some points the video was a little shaky but such a good end product
So so good to see you back, had me lol ing 'this knot here I'm going to mix up some epoxy and leave it the bin' ha ha
Really beautiful, you've come a long way
Thank you!
Exelente !!! Saludos desde Ushuaia Argentina!!!
😆 funny and brilliant work
Welcome back zh
Lost weight wow mate long time
The epoxy !!! 😂😂
Great video from start to finish
The best 👍
Un espectáculo!!!👏👏👏 saludos desde Argentina
Nice, good to see you back RUclips.
Thank you, it's been a rough year for all of us.
Nice work! Love the wood finish... epoxy-less
haha, loved the epoxy part :D
Quick and dirty cheat is you can put SiBro wire in your mig welder and run it with 100% argon. it's "MIG brazing" and works great
Holy shit. I didn't know that was a thing.
@@ZHFabrications supposed to use a welder made for it, but you can be dirty. That wire runs $25 a pound though, I used it in my havan kund video to "weld" copper
When you're figuring out cutoff lengths, assume that mass is conserved and density is constant. Figure out the volume of the forged part and then cut off that much LxWxH
(or just eyeball it... It's a table, not a watch)
For the most part yeah, it's fairly reliable with stuff like this--you do lose some material through scaling etc(which can become significant with damascus).
The issue with this sort of forging is efficiency: you can calculate and allocate material, but forging tapers and stuff to exact dimensions is never rarely perfect, so there is always a bit of guessing and a lot of tinkering/tweaking.
The epoxy part was fucking awesome. Thank you for that.
Looks awesome man! RIP BLO!!!
Haha :)
masterpiece💪👍👌
Exelente may fren gratulechions saludos desde Nayarit Mexico
That turned out awesome. Hope you are enjoying Ohio.
Looks great! Nicely done. Even though I really like your music, I had to keep turning the volume up and down during the video. Perhaps equalize the music level with your voice next time?
Очень хорошо!!! Мне до такого мастерства ещё долго учиться.
The Best
Ope. You're officially from Ohio now. Beautiful job, that is awesome! So glad you're still putting out videos. I enjoy your work. Keep it up
Yes! Thank you!
@@ZHFabrications do you plan on doing meet ups again once this whole covid mess clears up enough to be social again?
fucking nailed it Zach! I've missed your videos.
Having watched this process on IG, I know exactly how much time you spent practicing each of these features to learn how to get them just right. The result is a stunning piece of art. And the epoxy comment cracked me up just as much the second time around. Ashley killed it on the edit! Thanks for sharing!
Ты настоящий умница👍👍👍
We're saving the exploding tables for 2021. I have several ticking time bombs in my house. That table is stunning man.
Haha, stay safe!
BEST PLACE FOR EPOXY! WELL SAID!!!!
Cool idea with the silicon bronze accents. Wonder how it would show up in your touch mark?
The thought crossed my mind, I figured I'd test that and maybe save it for another project :)
So good to see you again! What’s up with the truck?
I'm feeling really guilty that the progress has slowed. I've just been so busy sine the move I haven't really had much time for it, and now that I have a bit of time/motivation, it's too cold out to shoot paint :(
I'm hoping 2021 is the year!
Well that made my day! My condolences on your boiled linseed oil. RIP.
Yout Great Great Great Great grandfather would be proud!
I think I did the can service.
Очень круто 😲
How is the c10 coming along?
Absolutely amazing work mate! Just out of curiosity, do you think ash or oak is better for exploding tabletops? Asking for a friend
Bloodwood is the best :)
@@ZHFabrications Excellent!
Fuckin awsome
Wow....for a minute there I thought sure you were going to ruin it with that godforsaken epoxy. Thankfully, you put the epoxy in the proper spot. I hereby proclaim we're going to defund river tables!
Hahaha!
That table is a work of art, except for the shiny screws on the bottom.
What songs are in this video?
Screwing up and into the hole with a taper... we're still making a table, right?
Спасибо за эбоксидную смолу, а то я уже испугался.
CHAPOOO!!!!
It looks kind of good when you put some Black or clear schellack don't know the englisch word in the crack
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
More like that....
That boiled linseed oil, RIP 🪦
Expelliarmus!
I thought you lived in the 614 not the 216?
...I've got hoes in different area codes
Epoxi = Trash! Thank you for that!
editing is just a tad too jumpy. still enjoyed, though
Shakycam 1000. Feels like 2006 all over again.
