    Crazy to think that computer code runs the same way. On 'repetitive loops' just like the rotary nature of this automata. Truly remarkable to see the connections between modern technology and old world techniques.

    thank you popper666 and rodwill achar for your comments ,let me assure you that the mechanics for the balls are all mechanical ,no electro magnets or vacuum tubes. i would tell you how i did it but it would take the magic away.
    the head and hands were first sculpted in super sculpy ,then a mold was made and it was cast in pvc plastic .i did it this way to make it lighter

    Every time I look up at the old clockwork automatons I find myself inwardly wondering "Why, why did we nearly stop making these beautiful machines" frankly their inner workings are always more fascinating than their outer shell. Thank you for sharing this piece of history.

      because clokworkshio is not that necesary as it used to be and these early automatons were the early evolution of the robots we have today. the same happened with a lot of others machines like for example the ccars wich the first ones were impulsed by human force.

    No.
    I looked at it closer, and see what I thought I saw, and when the angle is right looking more upward from below, you can actually see the bottom of the balls in the cups. So they are somehow being lifted into the bottoms of the cups and held there.
    The two "holes" in the table are just dents to keep the balls in place when they are released.
    I don't understand or see what you mean by "balls going down by rotation of sets of arms."

    The table has 2 little holes, when the chinese doll covers the space with the tea cup, the ball comes out from the table and it intercalates the rythm of the magic trick.

    • @maximeloiseau8050
      @maximeloiseau8050 5 лет назад

      Right ! If you look at his left hand (on the right), you can clearly see that the ball does not lift deep enough in the bowl and so, it is partly apparent...

    You should say or show how you do the balls. I'm guessing electromagnets, although it could be air suction. I thought of a way to do it "old style" with real magnets.
