      ⚠️ God has said in the Quran:
      🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 )
      🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 )
      🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 )
      🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 )
      🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 )

      The thing is, when things like this were made, they weren’t made by one person. They were made by entire workshops of artisans, each with their own specialty. We tend to forget that, particularly in mechanical workings, specialisation became a thing very early on. The modern person, who creates something like this, is completely atypical, in comparison to the “makers” who came before. Admittedly, we have modern tools to make things easier, but still....an engraver engraved........they didn’t then spend days measuring and machining cogwheels and gears.

    That is so awesome! This may sound weird but you have the talent to make a small sized and very detailed Victorian style Nautilus submarine from the Jules Vern book that Disney made. That'd be neat to see since you're such a skilled metal worker.

      So much sad truth here. I love both styles, pieces of art, and content creators. I'm sure Chris from Clickspring is a busy man, it just seems ironic that Uri is literally building his shop one tool at a time, with hand tools, and still releasing videos fairly quickly. I hope Chris is doing well. Clockmakers/smiths are generally overbooked to crazy levels.

    I gotta ask though, where do you source your brass stock? I've been trying to find larger dimension brass stock, like you used for the base, in Europe for some time but always come up dry. Would really appreciate a nudge for where to look 🙂

      Thanks! I buy most of the brass from ebay Germany, I look for scrape and leftovers mostly. I'm sure you'll find what you need there. Probably you'd have to search in German, you can type "messing reste" or "messing flach" for flat stock.

    • @SwitchAndLever
      @SwitchAndLever 4 года назад +9
