I'm a heavy blender user. A year ago I purchased a laptop with Rygen 9 and RTX 3060 with 16GB Ram and 6GB VRam to deal with that. Now I'm regretting my decision as its not able to Render my animation projects, giving me System is out of GPU memory error. Whereas I transferred a file to my friend who has a Desktop with i7 CPU and RTX 1650Ti with 4 GB VRam and it rendered out smoothly that too in lesser time
Iam thinking of buying a Laptop and Won't be getting a upgrade for atleast,3,4 years so should I buy a desktop instead?
That’s very weird, because a 3060 laptop is much much powerful than a 1650 ti. Maybe is something wrong with your laptop
@@chrisjimenez5255bro the app or laptop must be using intel integrated graphics instead of nvidia rtx 3060 mine is Rtx 2050 as a gaming laptop default all Processes and system are set to intel uhd graphics in windows 11 whereas in pc windows 11 or 10 and the Display and normal default graphics are set to discrete gpu (installed graphic card for example: your Rtx 3060)
If you use your gaming laptop without charger it wont render fast and will not use rtx 3060 and use integrated instead and gaming laptop are made to be used while charging if you use it without charged or plugged in your gaming laptop will have 90 percent less graphic card performance because graphic card is the most power consuming thing in laptops and pc
You cappin bro
The short answer is depends on what you want it for.
Desktops are the only solution if you think about it.
@@EternalCelestialChambersno
@@xelinxbb7290 Bro is a laptop meatrider 💀
@@SonikPixelz901he is right if you're a traveler laptop is 100% better
@@Imsopro_19 If you are a traveller. Otherwise its desktops.
Both have pros and cons different situations call for different devices
Once laptop hardware break, you need to replace the whole thing. When part of PC hardware break, you'll just need to fix that part. Also its much easier to upgrade PC.
Computer is solely used for one task, either work or gaming. We have them in office, school and houses.
Laptops are meant to be mobile version of PC. It is like phones but more stronger and bigger trying to replace a spot for PC in which PC cannot fit in, "potability with power"
Framework laptop: am i a joke to you?
It depends on the broken part, if it's RAM or an SSD then you can usually replace it without much trouble.
@@unrenownedc Unless its soldered on ram
that's an absolute lie, I got my PC and screen broken on my omen and repaired it myself, need to tell that I'm not PC engineer
Correction: PC stands for Personal computer it can either be a Laptop or a Desktop (a desktop is what you call a pc)
All In One
With RTX 4090 and the next Intel Processor (Hopefully stable)
Desktop are cheaper, cooler and MUCH quiter
Well Naa
as someone who constantly moves out every now and then
my bag won't fit a desktop

Performance is bad in laptops bruh. You get more performance for same money in Desktops. Others are trivial things.
Desktop
I have msi rog strix laptop with 4070 gpu..and desktop with 4080s 7800x3d..laptop performance is %-40..so for better performance gaming i go desktop..but laptop i can carry everywhere i go..so both have - and + ..
Laptops are nice, but I personally get more enjoyment from desktops. They're clean, easy to upgrade and perform much better (depending on hardware ofc generalizing a bit). I guess I'm in the habit of desktops more or less. But laptops really suck if they have poor airflow. They're worse than my cat lol.
I’ve been using a laptop for years! Hook up some monitors, and it’s perfect
Desktops laptops are worse
I too prefer laptop
Cause we go to our friends house and play fps games
Go to your friends, to talk to them face to face. You can play with them online.
Laptop better
For me
Id go with a Framework laptop then 💪
Laptop. Simple.
I mean if I can always get the latest and greatest then laptop would probably be fine
Laptop
LAPTOP
My school bans laptops, I have to use a ti-84 for reading, typing, gaming, ect. And with a 1mhz cpu, 1mb of storage and 64kb of ram. I only have a crash playing demanding games like 2048 or chess
Framework Laptop 16. It has all of the benefits of desktops (high performance Ryzen 7000 series CPU, upgredable RAM, Storage and GPU) and the portability of laptops
laptop pros - portability
Desktop pros - everything except portability.
Team Desktop
Framework laptop if it eventually comes with bypass charging (I really hate replacing the battery every 2-3 years). Anyway, I'll literally be using it for the rest of my life, or at least until Framework is selling replacement parts.
2 years ago, i got a 3050 laptop for around £700, I'd much rather got a £200 thin laptop and a £400 desktop instead
Weirdly the laptop version of the 1650 is damn better than the pc Version of the 1650 now i have no clue how that works i haven't overclocked my laptop as i dont know how nor do i want to as the 1650 can run just about anything with good to max ultra graphics at 78 fps
If your wondering my laptop is the Asus F15 or something its a good computer if u want it for games a bad one if u want it for school cuz the battery on this even if its fully optimize is incredible bad
I was planning to buy laptop for my studies but some of my friends told desktop is better for studies since I don't need to carry it. Now I am confused what should I do? Which is better can anyone tell?
I chose laptop but i dont Have money for one
As someone that has laptops. They’re overpriced for what they are. Half the stuff can be done on a phone if not better. The only use for laptops is work if you’re not using it for work then its kinda useless.
Your desktop won't overheat and kill itself in 2 years lol. Just as the warranty ends...
But my desktop will give me 4 disc herniation by bringing it every day in my journey to college 😢
Laptops arent worth it, most of the times when you use your pc its gonna be at your house so it wouldnt change anything if you had a laptop, maybe only that you would be more comfortable with it but still. And as for the times you are outside and wanna use your pc, dont, whats the point of going somewhere just to be in a computer again? It makes no sense unless you are travelling too much and staying in different places then a laptop would have benefit. The laptop's main feature, the portability, is very useless for the average person who travels once of twice a year so pcs are better.
Desktop are better for repairability and upgradeability.
Framework: are you sure about that?
They r still better
@Adnan027
are you sure you can upgrade cpu in your framework ????
Well tbh i mainly play mc and if i had like the best laptop i could play like warzone and fortnite and other stuff and a pc is you have to have a monitor a keyboard and its just better if you have a monitor and keyboard in 1 so u jist have to buy a mouse
we can use laptop like dekstops with a monitor and a keyboard and a mouse
True!
You can also use it to keep you warm in the winter
@@Darkeditz_2U with a dekstop too
@@LEONARDOGAMER41desktops don’t overheat as much as laptops
@@Darkeditz_2U you sure?

How frequently? And for what purpose? Business trips? You want to play video games during a business trip?
@@EternalCelestialChamberswhy are you so butthurt that somebody is using a laptop, let them live.
@@xelinxbb7290 I used to be a laptop fanboy. Bought a really costly one too. It got destroyed because the components were so tightly packed that unplugging the battery cable shorted the motherboard can't even salvage parts now. That's a lot of money I could have spent on an even better PC which could be upgraded and repaired easily.
@@EternalCelestialChamberslol crying that much? Why because other people like laptops and not PCs? What are you..12 year old kid?
@@ArmaanNandha08 Nah, trying to educate people. The lack of critical thinking is very alarming you see.
Also, dull argument lil bro (Can you even call it an argument lol). Maybe spend more time in school instead of trying to defend garbage? I guess your brain cell are lacking but I will try to explain it in a way that a vermin can understand it too. Education is important you see.
It is a thousands times better to just get a cheap laptop and invest in the superior and economical Desktops for heavy purposes.
It is staggering, even though they realize that the Desktops are way economical and superior, they delude themselves into thinking that they will game while traveling or they will be moving frequent enough to get a laptop, I have a desktop and you don't really need much for a basic setup. They also forget the re-usability/exchange-ability of Desktop parts. What are you going to do with a laptop whose motherboard is shorted? Un-solder the still working GPU or CPU from the motherboard and solder it to a new one? Good luck with that without messing up.
I could go on but I am pretty sure even this meager amount of information is too much for your brain lol. Like did your brain even understand this? lol I might need to use ooga booba language.
"Laptop no good, stop shit brain. Get Desktop"
Dumbing down is hard. It's incredibly hard to stoop to your IQ level. Did you understand it yet?
So now at school i will causally bring a whole pc set up for work👍
Desktop for life
Jm more of a casual guy so I would probably pick laptop cuz its more portable (and totally not because I grew with a laptop running Windows 7 making me have a huge bias)
desktop all day I like laptops but desktops have more power and performance easier to upgrade and repair and last longer
While building Pc it feels like crafting a powerful weapon 🗿
Rest of life? Easily laptop. Don't care if the laptop would perform less . Personally me and my parents face alot of unexpected situations and have to move city to city and country to country
Laptops are almost an entire setup f9r much cheaper. You get the whole PC, a screen, a keyboard, and a trackpad, however using a normal mouse is better.
Desktop definitly
Laptops are good for like 3yr and after that they will just not be as good as from the start and you will start to look for a better one
But you can still replace the battery, some you can open up and there will be upgradable storage and ram in a laptop, also a another good thing about a laptop is that if you have mobile date on your phone and go out and wanna game you can hotspot your phone to the laptop
You can’t really compare the two in my opinion they have different uses
Macbook
Everyone has to pick laptop because no matter what reason you have to say desktop is better, at some point in your life you will need a portable computer
Desktop please. Spill coffee onto a laptop.
Just dont be a dumbass
Biggest cap about laptops my parents divorced when i was young so my only choice were laptops to game on i ve got my first dell laptop in 2009 with an intel celeron 4gb ram ddr3 and intel hd graphics i ve gamed a lot on that hardware and guess what.. It still holds on even today in fact its the single laptop that held on over time.... Old laptops were truly amazing in their quality and usage
I prefer laptop because what if im gonna move from my home or travel
I prefer laptop because i have many mobility activities
Laptop these days.
Unless Legion Go doesn't count as a laptop.
but if you're on a low budget definitely desktop
I would just hook a laptop on a monitor so u have a portable pc
Laptop or Desktop? Me: Smartphone
I can't get a desktop, but just wait till I get my own job
I would puck a laptop with lots of usb ports, a op battery, extremely good specs, and a detachable keyboard so I could use it as a monitor, but I prefer PCs
I'd rather have a steam deck then a laptop. At least it's affordable and won't just, break for a stupid reason.
You can only play games on it lol
Honestly laptop is better since you can take it for work, your friends home, and also if you want to migrate from an old room to another then its very easy to do so.
Desktops, laptops overheat and sometimes the hinges break
I have both and will always because each device serves its own unique purpose. My MacBook Pro is the on-the-go school computer that I use whenever my computer science and cybersecurity professors require specific software, while my custom-built TZ590-BTC-DUO + i5-11600K + RX480x6 mining rig makes a perfect Hashcat powerhouse at home for those CEH jobs that require a password cracking pentest. Granted OpenCL isn't the only reason why one would choose a desktop-class system over a laptop, but it's probably the biggest use case for it.
I just like tinkering with my desktop PC
I'm buy for university so...
And usually a bigger monitor screen
Well i can fit a 2 ton dynamite on my laptop so why not 🤷🏻
Laptop the look cooler especially military laptops
I would take desktop and then buy ipad pro😅
Dell XPS Studio 16 smashes all laptops
Desktop Anytime anywhere
That sleeper emachine pc 💀
Desktop, because iPads exist
The only time that I will consider a laptop is when they start to make them as upgradeable as desktops which is probably going to be never and if it does it's going to be much more expensive so desktop way more cheaper then a gaming laptop would ever be
A 4070-4090 set up pc even with cheap everything except gpu and cpu will put u at the same price as the laptops these days, it’s just laptops have less power and they can’t be upgraded
@@granddaddypurp356 Yeah But even then I would still want a desktop as I can fully choose what component I put into it.
Instead of having a company , tell me what I can and can't put in my pc

Dumb take, I work in IT and hardware and I would get a desktop 1000%. Laptops break down sooner due to having worse issues regarding removing heat due to it having tight small cramped spaces. More heat means your hard drive and other components will fail sooner. Laptop hinges are also terribly designed and you can have working parts but a broken case that makes it almost unusable.
Well that's just plain physics. You sacrifice thermal performance for portability, it just depends on which you do you prioritize. Not to mention cpus and gpus have gotten so efficient now that a good laptop like the legion for example hardly gets beyond 70c under load if you undervolt it.
Also not all laptop hinges are bad tf? Just bc your laptop has a bad hinge doesn't mean all laptop hinge is terribly designed lol.
@@catchanka667 hp - hinge problems
