    I've learned the best method of market delivery is to allow ONLY granaries or storehouse to do so. Reason being is that work buildings are often times temporal. You're not always going to have people in the farmhouse or firewood building.
    Upgrading the granaries and storehouse, designating each to a subset of product, works best. For example, my first granary and storehouse accept everything. Then my second granary will focus on just veggies/apples (due to abundance of harvest and proximity of the burgage plots) to allow for easier pick up from houses and delivery into markets. I then disallow my original granary from picking up such resources. My second storehouse will focus on just hides/leather from hunting.
    Then, I periodically look at non-distribution/logistical buildings (granaries and storehouse are distribution/logistical) and remove their workers, increase workers as needed in logistics buildings to compensate.
    This allows for focused pick up and delivery of goods. I am currently testing sometimes destroying empty market places to "free up" workers to use elsewhere. I try to have enough workers per building to run it smoothly /man the markets, and plus 1 just in case.

      I did this with my granaries. One granary ended up losing all the items it had (weird), but the other 2 began to operate as intended.

      I prefer moving stalls instead of destroying them as it allows me to dedicate a marketplace to their supply chain (usually adjacent).

    Market place placement is very important to me. To reduce the travel time from say a granary to a food stall, frees up that pop to do other functions, like picking up supplies from hopefully a nearby source.

    my food and fuel stay fine until i make a marketplace, once i make one my resources will slowly drain to 0 and everyone will starve. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

      Hmm, not sure what is going on there. I have not experienced that before.
